You know, we all know what's going on. I don't need to rehash it
I don't need to you know, we might talk about some of it. I don't know well, I'll talk and you can listen and maybe something I say will be a Relevance to you or but I don't want to talk about that yet I want to say first off everybody who's followed the podcast for a while knows that I was a comedian back years ago Got out of it for a long time and but I'm back into it. I want to give a shout out one of my more recent
Comedy buddies, mr. Patrick Logan for having me at his show back on the first and it was awesome So this was fun on a couple of different levels. Okay First off I had seen Patrick a couple weeks prior to the show and said hey, man I'm looking forward to coming doing your room there and he said yeah awesome. And I said if it's okay with you Like you know cuz I was asking like how much time you want me to do it, you know, what do we got?
What what's going on? That's what a comic finds out ahead of time, you know, how much time? What do you want to do any content restrictions anything like that? And he said no, no, you can do whatever you want. Just you know, and I said, okay You know within reason obviously He said yeah, I said I'm just gonna come in and just go and I'm just gonna you know, put it on
And just see what happens and it was fun. I had such a good time It was I've really felt like I got the comedy engine out there on the highway for a little bit not you know When you bring a when you bring a car I bring an engine You know You kind of revamp it a little bit or maybe try to clean it out a little bit you try to warm it up a little You don't just take it straight out onto the you know full speed and I did really more of a club set now I did do quite a bit of my older material
Mixed in with some newer stuff that I feel is good Now I did throw I have thrown away a bunch of stuff that I just don't want to do anymore But that was fun because I had not done those entire bits, you know, I hadn't I hadn't done in a while So it was cool kind of it's to take those out Wave them around a little bit get you know kind of unfurl my flag a little bit and just kind of aired out
Those those different those different bits and that was fun. And then I had some new stuff. That was really cool a couple things that One thing I just what I got this one joke. I'm trying to work out And it just I can't get the end of it. I Just can't get the end of it. I don't I have the pretty it's pretty good. It's pretty pretty good on the in the beginning part
It's actually sort of a joke. I wrote with executive producer. Domic. That's his voicemail when he called He he and I were talking about something one night and we we came up with it
And I don't want to say here because I don't want to give it away. But at the same time So yeah, I just I can't stick the end there on it And sometimes it happens and sometimes you know bits, you know that when you write them don't always Get them Right, you know at the very beginning and I've always said that I mean that's what comedy is you take stuff You figure out an idea and a premise you take it out you add two pieces on to it here and there
And then you take it out to the masses and you show the people what you got now some bits they just don't end up being much of anything I mean any of the greats will tell you That they're just some bits that they work on and work on and ideas and they just don't do it And then there's some that maybe they just tried to make too big and they're just little short things I've definitely had some of my more successful bits that I did or jokes or whatever you want to call them
Over the course of you know, my career Working in what I what I did that You know they that they were just simple things and I tried to make them into like something else That was very large and grand and this whole elaborate bit and I'm not necessarily really an elaborate bit comic You know some comics are some comics have great ways of just telling a story now I've gotten better my storytelling. I think if anything my podcasting might have helped
In my in my stand-up. Sorry a just a little bit Sorry, just adjust the mic here and So I feel like that's actually helped me but but it was fun. I had a good time and all the comments were awesome Holly Baumfalk That that's her name. She was there. She's doing great. Sami Tamimi was awesome Rome Davis would a And then, Brian Williams is a I think is a pretty pretty talented All these people are young people and I'm the old guy in those situations. I actually got a pretty good recording out of it
I just recorded on my phone. Just my phone sitting on the stool on the stage And it was it was actually pretty good I'm thinking and I've actually had a little work done to it and I'm not I'm not sure what to do with it I'm not sure if I should just I might just take it and just put it on YouTube Somebody suggested to me that I should put it on because it what I would do is basically I would maybe make a little couple director cuts and
Or decisions, I guess one would say creative decisions and I would you know, maybe try to you know cut it down to something that's you know, and just make it like a short little something and Somebody was saying I could do that and then sell it for like What they say five bucks
I said, that's too much. I'm not nothing. I know comedy. I make is worth five dollars the second part Of why this was so interesting of a night Was you know, so um Patrick had talked to me about this place for a while now And so, you know, I started looking at where it was because I live, you know south of the city And this is over on the north north lakeside area north side of Richmond You know, I grew up on north side of Richmond, and spent a good part of my childhood over there
I'm sitting there on Sunday The day of the show and I'm looking at the maps on my computer
And I'm looking, I'm like man. This is close because there was a place That was near where this place You know was where I was looking in the area of and there was called the Celebrity Room And it was one of these places that was you know, it was like a family restaurant, but it was supposed to be styled and themed after a place that's you know People go like celebrities would go and hang out like these places that they have in like New York or LA or whatever
And it was supposed to be kind of like one of those like that. It had Elvis and you know pizza Greek salads But Elvis was a lot in a lot of places just celebrities Lucille Ball and you know just the celebrity room and I remember you know, we but my family went there a
Lot when I was a kid, we went there for birthdays. We went there for you know, just people visiting You know my parents my parents Separated and and you know split up when I was young but at different times with different step-parents I went there with them and everything it was crazy just to walk into that place Because that's where the show was but it wasn't called the celebrity room anymore. I've been redone And was now called another round bar and grill and every first Sunday of the month
They have comedy if stand-up in there the bar. It's called the burnout room the burnout pit So I don't know. I got a pretty good recording of it and I'm trying to decide what to do Let me know what you want. What do you think I should do? So I just put it on YouTube for fun If I do that you got to tell everybody, you know, or or I could put it on iTunes for like two dollars What do you think?

So I'm gonna try to figure out what to do with this recording. I have of it I think I think it'd be cool and I might just put it on YouTube But we'll see Yeah, it was a good time. That was everybody was great The you know that the young comics like I said, I just keep hanging out with these people and they it's it's reinvigorating But you know what at the same time? It also reminds me of just how many years
I've lost in the you know in the business of telling jokes. I just how much time have I lost? And You know, I don't I don't regret anything. I have now I don't read anything. I have an awesome wife a great awesome son and You know, I have a family and everything else and You know that my family stuck by me while trying to change a lot of things about my life You know, where would I be?
But that was a good time. I had a very I had a lot of fun a lot of fun It was it was good to get the old it was kind of like, you know We're putting the band back together like, you know, I was putting the act back together And I did but the the fact that I had so much
Liway, it felt so good. Just be able to just go out there and just do what I wanted Weave around do whatever Talk to people go back to my bit come come out of it You know throw some in I actually had a couple cool lines that I had just thought of The other right right on stage wrote a couple things on stage. I think maybe at least one of them So that was tight. That was awesome. I had a good time. Thank you, Patrick And he's been invited to be on the podcast. I don't know if he ever will
You should hear this guy talk. He's a he's a funny guy. All right All right Did you guys watch football? We'll be talking about that a little bit, but did you watch football? This weekend, huh? Did you have fun? Did you have a good time? All right, my point we'll talk about that my point with that About bringing that up is of course, I'm sitting there. I know red zone does who does not love red zone. Oh my god. I Love it. I haven't had it. I had it at first, for a couple years
That I'll that through different things one year. I think I had it for free and The for some reason I had it and I wasn't supposed to and then that was with my old Verizon cable in yeah cable and then I went to Hulu and I They had it for a minute. I don't know. I don't know what happened
But we had it now we don't and I'm kind of pissed about it. But here's the thing Hulu You want people to have money To pay for something that's an add-on like, you know NFL red zone Then why don't you stop raising your fucking prices like they they what is it after October 12th? My plan would start at whatever it was. It was 64 99 It's about to be 82 and 81 99 now. What is that? That is bullshit, man
And it's really like that's the thing all this started all this streaming stuff. I've talked about it before But now I'm even more fired up about it Because you know, I would I love red zone. I would love to be able to have it But I really I can't in just it's only ten dollars more month. It's also the fucking principle of it
Why do I need this pay ten dollars? The only thing I want in the stupid NFL red zone Package that they have that you add on has things like MAV TV Sportsman channel FanDuel TV outdoor channel the wonderful awesome NFL red zone and FanDuel racing who gives a shit about any of that stuff?
I don't know understand these people have all this money. They do this whole you know, the gambling thing They're fan duel and all this other shit Caesar sports, but yeah I even if I had the money to do that type of shit and just throw it away I don't I wouldn't fucking do that stuff Mostly because I'm addicted personality, but but that's the channel. I don't want anything other than it. Can I pay?
Seven dollars and just get the it's gotta be six dollars and just have red zone. That's what I'm saying I don't need this other shit, but that's how they always do it I don't need this other shit, but that's how they always do it and so my my complaint right now Is that all these streaming services are simply becoming like the cable companies were streaming was supposed to save you money And now it's suddenly become
This giant, you know this giant thing and it's just like I you know, I can't stand this, you know This is absolutely ridiculous what they're charging and but this is part of the problem The streaming companies are like, oh well, we're losing money. Well, then stop buying all this shit and putting it on your platform Look, I'm not trying to go back to the days of having you know What the TV went off and into that color test pattern that every night at you know 1 30 in the morning or 2 o'clock
I'm not trying to do that. I like having my late night TV. I'm up late night all the time And you know, I love streaming stuff. I love doing all that stuff I love Ahsoka, only murders in the building, The bear. I mean I do all that shit But stop making so much stuff and then are buying it the studios make it
Then the platforms buy it if they want to show it. This is how it works anywhere else on regular television networks And you know, I that is just it's just outrageous how much stuff they're doing and then how much stuff do we need? And I know there's a lot of people on this planet But god damn every time I turn around somebody's going oh, hey, have you seen this? Have you seen this news? Have you seen this new series? No, I haven't you why you should it's awesome
Yo, you'll have a great. Yeah, it's great Holy shit. I can't You know, I'm really when I'm not streaming, you know, there's so many nights I just sit around and I'm watching Bob's burgers or Two and a Half Men or You know Modern Family You know, there's stuff like that man. I'm not sitting I'm not sitting here or AFV By the way, I think that Alfonso Ribero is a way better Host than Tom Bergeron ever was
Nothing against the dude as a person. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but not my favorite Bob Saget, of course best best AFV host ever and Then I'll found Alfonso Ribero and then Bergeron and that's the only three that they've ever had. But anyway, that's not the point Why are they they just keep making all this up? They're just putting all this stuff out and then these these streaming platforms they keep doing it
And that's the other thing I don't understand. They just told me hey because I have a legacy thing What the fuck is that a legacy account? What am I sending it to college? after me Well since your since your dad paid us on teen thousands of dollars over the years Yeah, you can go to Hulu University with the what?
It's a legacy account. But because I have a legacy account my original plan Which I think with the live TV and started what 64.99 or something like that now it's going up eventually after the 12th I've already paid for this month. It goes to 81.99 Wouldn't you think that you would like reward the people who have been with you the longest?
Hey, whatever happen to customer loaded. No, just jack the fucking prices up Oh, well, because it's costing us more why for you to put on more stuff that I don't watch It's it's absolutely ridiculous everybody has all this their platforms they all have their own little Whatever's and it's just becoming fucking ridiculous and we are literally paying for stuff that we don't even use But the thing is is that they have you hooked in?
You know, they have you hooked in because there's certain things on everything that you want to watch You're gonna paying for a bunch of different shit You know even with Amazon Prime. Yeah, you get Amazon. Oh, you can watch Thursday Night Football Well, no, I really have prime because I want free shipping and some of the other stuff but that you know, that's what it is That's how they get you Nothing's gonna stop it. You can't do anything about it
They're just gonna keep raising while we're losing money on stuff. Well, then stop making so much shit We'll stop putting out so much stuff. Look, I love everything that Disney has made With the all the Star Wars stuff. I love everything they've made so far some has been better than others, but it's all been awesome If you're a Star Wars fan, you have to love it Yeah, I've always argued that point you have to love it
But there's but it's like okay. Now, what do we have coming now? Well, now we have the accolade now We have well, why don't you work on just a basic set of shit and just go from there? And just go from there, you know, like I don't I don't get it. I don't know, you know, I love that Hey, they have this new one called the acolyte. It's like holy shit. Well, this takes place a hundred years before Any of the Skywalker Saga?
Okay Alright, let's do that now like focus on something and just do it which by the way, I want to just say I think that every Series every whatever they've done whether it be Mandalorian book of Boba Fett Ahsoka, Andor the Closing credits for every single one of them the music Has been one of those ones that you know I sit there and I watch it and whether I be watching it down here in my studio Or if I'm upstairs in the living room or I'm out if I'm in the family room out in the basement
I will sit there. I will sit there and listen to the music because it's good music It took me about four episodes of book of Boba Fett to realize they were The in the song that the people were chanting Boba Fett Boba Fett if you go if you go back and listen to it, you'll you'll get what I'm saying But I think the music's been awesome Fantastic and now I'm not gonna do any spoilers because there are a lot of people haven't seen it yet Probably the final episode I've seen them all now and
Yeah, I gotta say I loved it they left I'm gonna well I Loved it like I said, I'm gonna give my opinion on it. I'm not gonna say what happens. I Loved it. I really did. I the way that they left things was interesting Let's put it that way. It was intriguing on a lot of levels Rosario Dawson was amazing They everybody was good. Everybody was good in that and then what's his name? Mickelson. Yeah as Thrawn oh My god, it's Oh my god, it was that was awesome because the voice
The voice was the person who played him in the cartoon the rebels cartoons. I So enjoyed it. I so enjoyed it, but I gotta say the way that some of the stuff Ended and where it's going and what I think could happen and at some point we'll talk about that on here Regardless of whether you people have seen it or not I'll give it a little more time But I do want to say that the entire series once again Shows what Dave Filoni needs what he deserves When they were doing the sequels, right
We're doing seven eight and nine when when that was going on. I literally thought I said it to people I was like, you know, I said to people They they really need to give Dave Filoni one of those one of these movies to be able to direct and they didn't They had JJ Abrams who I thought did a pretty good job in the first one Ryan Johnson. I liked the last Jedi But I don't like some of the lines that he took with certain characters now
Then you got the rise of Skywalker, which I like it. I like it. It's not my favorite movie In all the Star Wars in all the Skywalker saga. I Will say that it's not it's not my favorite And in a lot of ways it was some fan service and stuff like that and but who did it?
JJ Abrams with Dave fellow with Dave Filoni has shown he can do Over the years constantly consistently I think the only thing he's ever had sort of a flub on was the cartoon the animated series he did Called resistance which was based in the time the rise of the new order Anyways, alright, I mean I could go on for hours about this, but I did enjoy a Soka I think the music is awesome. I think they need to quit screwing around
Kathleen Kennedy and all those people over there. They need to quit screwing around let Filoni do a thing now We do have the movie coming Which of course is going to be the culmination of Mandalorian book of Boba Fett a Soka
Those three series the Soka series ended. There's a lot to be figured out afterwards right and Are we gonna be able to see it and how long is gonna take us to see it because People like Disney keep making things like the acolyte and they keep making these other series, which I I really I want to see what that is I feel like it's a project that could have waited a little bit further down the line If at all We'll see what they do, but I hope there's a they hope there's at least a second season of
Ahsoka some rumors are that they have already film parts of the following season lot to find out what happens In that but it was good If you follow the Clone Wars and you haven't seen and they're and rebels and you haven't seen the Soka you're really doing yourself a disservice So make sure you check that out. I just wanted to say it's been nice. It's been awesome None of them are gonna hear but I'm very glad that the writers straight up very glad that the writers strike is over
And i'm not blaming this on the writers. I'm not saying the writers are doing anything wrong where i'm like, oh thank god It's back. I was getting so tired of this shit because I understand why they were out there what they were doing it for And all the above it's perfectly fine
I'm just glad it's over. It's so nice You gotta check out some of the closer looks That Seth Meyers did this week Stupendous Stupendous and that's the thing these writers add and do so much because if you didn't have these writers that did things for things, you know stuff like shows you watch on Disney all the way to You know people we watch on, you know, like Seth Meyers or any other stuff
These people if you didn't have writers you would not have Saturday Night Live. Texans falcons falcons beat the texans 2119. Yeah, I don't know about the falcons. It's weird There they come they come out and they're like, yeah, they're big evil mean falcons and then other times they come out and they're like little little chicks And yeah, so I don't know texans panthers lions lions panthers are terrible lions Lions are looking good Colts beat the titans They're now three and two colts are titans two and three. Like his head was just about to pop off his body. I'm not saying explode or anything I'm just saying like it was just gonna pop off. I was just gonna you know, just a little and make a little noise Just make that little Right just and just kind of pop off and he'd be like holy shit what? Dude billage and he just put it back on my body, please And he put it back on and it would still work. That's the thing about belichick. It would still work He'd still find a way to make it happen

We all have seen what's happened in the last couple of days with what's going on in israel You know, I sat there and I talked about at the top of the show And I talked about hey, you know the world's gone crazy, but let's kind of get away from it for a little bit And I know we're kind of coming back here now but one of the things that I Want to say is that this is just absolutely horrid What is happening?
I'm not just talking about what's going on in israel talking about what's going on in ukraine Has been going on and continues Or i'm also talking about the way some other politicians Are just literally blatantly lying and changing facts and trying to do You know this preening peacock the former president wants to be And this is the blatant bullshit that keeps keeps flying out of people's mouths All the way from his attorneys to the rnc chairwoman All kinds of other stuff the bullshit
And then this stuff happens and they turn around they just lie more shit on top of that um, but I do want to say that you know, I
This is terrible. What's going on with with hamas and israel. I don't think people realize. I don't know if everybody realizes this Because I you know, I do play on social media because I do want to know what other people are thinking and talking about for multiple reasons Be them personal or or research or whatever else Uh, but you know a lot of people don't realize that palestinians
Muslims palestinians who live in palatine they live in palestine and all that stuff the geography and I really encourage anybody Who has any questions about that area and this whole situation that's going on with it To to check their facts and just to make sure they know what's going on And it's just it's gotten way out of hand and just but everything else that's going on You know This is what I don't understand. Why why why why? Why just why why does it have to be this way?

He was not white. He was not black. He was not asian But he was something else but he was something else and Uh, he he was speaking and you know, these kids were like, oh they were making fun of his english I just wanted to say those kids
You know don't make fun of anybody. I saw this i've seen this several times in the past. I don't know a year And different versions of different uh little memes But it says don't make fun of somebody with the but who speaks broken english because they know a second language You know like don't make fun of somebody else who learned a language that you speak every all the fucking time they didn't grow up learning that No, but they learned it
Can you I I speak a good bit of spanish not great. I know at times that I speak broken spanish And these people fucking still love it. They're like, yeah, you learned it I learned it I'm just saying and it's coming handy a lot Learn another language. That's the other thing So just i'm just saying We gotta do better.
