Jaguars quarterbacks coach Ben maca do with us, is the Jags visit Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packers a place been where you've spent a little bit of time in your career. I'm sure it's not the first time back there, so all of that is gone now. But what is it like to go back to Lambeau for you since you spent so much of your career there. Yeah, my salad days, right. Uh. No, Green Bay is a

special place to me and my family. Uh you know, my first uh, I guess a big time position coaching job was there, got married there, had a couple of kids there, and won a Super Bowl there, So I guess you would consider it a special spot. I haven't been back there since uh the two thousand sixteen season, but looking looking forward to going back. Jake Luton made his debut last week in the National Football League. Some good stuff, some not so good things, but overall a

good debut considering the circumstances. Have felt like, yeah, you know, Jake, uh, you know, showing up the first time being active, getting a SUP for an NFL game, you know, no priest season, none of that stuff, So you know, he did what

we asked him to do. You know, he went out, he was decisive, he was aggressive with the football, and that's his game, you know, And we just asked him to go play his game and whatever happened on that play, just make sure you flush it and go to the next one and learn, you know, learn from it and just keep moving through the game. And he did that, and he put us in position there. Uh, at the end of time, we didn't get it done, but uh, you know, I thought he did had a good debut.

The importance of that deep shot early the opening drive. It felt like that built not only his confidence but the confidence of the offense. Really for the early part of that football game. You agree with that. Yeah, you know, it's a big down. You have third down on long and uh, you know, he took the right footwork, he made the right ring, he laid a nice ball in there. DJ ran a tremendous route and uh, you know, they connected.

They had a little bit of chemistry going in that game and then practice, so you know, that was good to see and surely that's that's a confidence booster there. He had a pretty good ratio on on some deep shots last week though, right and that's a strong part of his game with the arm that he has. Yeah, you know, he's the guy that sees the field well. Uh, not just because he's six foot seven, but he sees the field well. He knows where the uh, he knows

where to put his eyes. He's a young guy. He's still learning some things, but you know, when he sees it, he's able to play fast and pull the trigger and uh, you know when he's when he's accurate and has some good uh you know, good spin on the ball like he can do. It's pretty to watch with US Jaguars quarterbacks coach. Now for the first time you got to sit in the film session with him after he played a game. How was he to deal with there and how much different was it for him watching himself on

tape during a game. He's good that way. He's you know, he's a mature guy. First of all. He's not one of the real young rookies that you can you can get your hands on, and um, you know, Jake's a guy that has been through some He's had a bumpy

road to get here. It wasn't all handed to him, so he's had to earn it every step of the way everywhere he's been, um, including here, and you know, it was just another day at the office, you know, all all week last week, and even when we told him he he uh was gonna have an opportunity to play, it was just another day at the office for him,

and he just went about it and went to work. Um. You like a guy that just puts his head down and goes to work and all he wants to do is get better, getting better, And you know that's what he's doing. But I canna do with us Jaguars quarterbacks coach, all right, So take us through some things that went really well for him, and then take us through a couple of things. But he can build upon from last week. Yeah, you know the stuff that he did well, well, you

know we took a look at that. We're not gonna spend as much time on the stuff that he did well. We're always gonna look at the things that we can do to fix so we can improve. And the biggest thing I told him, I said, you know, going from week one to week two is it's only gonna get harder. Uh. You know, there's film of you out there now. We're going getting ready to go on the road. We're not gonna be at home, even though there's not fans involved.

That's gonna make it a more challenging deal. Going up to lambeau Field is a tough place to play. Uh, there's an aura about playing there. Um. Then you have to make sure you're doubt in the right way. You know, Mike Petton is a guy that's going to challenge you mentally. Uh. And they do a good job of that, and they have good players on that defense, and you know you can you can fall into the trap and where Hey, I'm competing against Aaron Rodgers and trying to beat Aaron Rodgers.

But that's not your job. Your job to do whatever you gotta do to put our offense in a good position to win that play. Uh. Then that's gonna be the challenge this week. Great stuff. Always good to visit with you, and I keep up the good work. Let's get it. Let's get a w this week. How about that? Hey, that's we're working. Hey, we're working on practice and all week. We might as well go up there and get a win. Right, That sounds good to me. Then we'll talk to you next time. All right. Thanks
