This is Jaguars Postgame. Jaguars Postgame, presented by t I a A Bank, JP Shadrick, Mike Dempsey, and Jaguars great Fred Taylor will break down today's game. Jeff Logoman will have player interviews and an exclusive conversation with head coach Doug Moron. Jaguars Post Game is sponsored by Baptist Health, Fara and Farrah Geico and by t I a A Bank. Jaguars Post Game starts right now. Welcome in Jaguars Post Game. Steelers seven, Jaguars three and week eleven. Steelers are now

ten and oh. The Jags are now dropped their ninth consecutive game for a one and nine record. J P, Shadrick, Mike Dempsey, Fred Taylor coming up in just a little bit with us. We'll have the first word with head coach Doug marrone, with Jeff Lockman standing by. Well, this game was relatively close early and then it started to

slip away right before halftime. I'm seventeen three kind of stayed within striking distance the first couple of drives in the second half, but there was never really a push. The offense couldn't get it going. Jake Luton had a bad day at the office. The Steelers defense had a really good day teeing off on him, especially later in the game. Yeah, the passing game just didn't do anything today. I mean, worse than doing nothing. They would have been

better off handing it off every time. A four interceptions. Obviously a terrible day for Jake Luton. He looked like a sixth round rookie quarterback making his third start, and he hadn't up until now. And I'm sure it's a somewhat a combination of the Steelers defense, but I just thought Luton was off on a number of his passes today. He sailed a few balls JP and he also and I heard the guys mentioned this on the broadcast, inexplicably

has a really low release point at times. Right, he got a lot of balls batted at the line of scrimmage today. So just you had no help whatsoever from the passing game. Uh, defense, with all the attrition they had, I still think has a pretty good performance today. Roethlisberger through for two sixties seven. They held Connor under ninety yards. And you consider the guys they started the game with and then the guys they lost along the way. I mean how is that secondary able to field enough players

to to run out eleven guys out on defense? And it was unbelievable, Right, this goes out and DJ Hayden, Chris Claybrooks, they all go out. And then if Josh Allen of course the big one that will have our eye on listening out to hear some news in the

post game here. Yeah, so yeah, unfortunate day that the defense goes in without their starting cornerbacks on the outside of again with Henderson's already on I r from and lose two of the top three that they went in the day with Sidney Jones was inactive, not available with an achilles issue. And then the guys that did play went down banged up today. So the final scores seven three Steelers over the Jags. And you know, let's let's look through some things here while we await the head coach,

Doug Marone. We'll have the first word with the Jaguars head coach coming up in just a moment. The running game for James Robinson seventeen carries seventy three yards. There was a bit of a bright spot there, but not enough bright spots today. Let's get the first word with head coach Doug Marone presented by Navy Mutual Ensuring Those who Serve. Here's Jeff Lockerman. All right, thank you, JP, Doug. Obviously,

a tough matchup today with the Pittsburgh Steelers team. And you come out aggressive, you score a field goal, aggressive coaching, surprise on side kick and uh but uh and we're close for the most of the first half, and then Pittsburgh just started to run away with it. Yeah, it was, you know, a tough decision, and you know in the third quarter, and you know, we had some penalties that gave up some yardage, and you know, guys are with a physical game obviously, you see everyone was able to

see that guys are playing hard. I thought, you know, defense came out early. We got our hands on, you know, three balls in the first half and we got one of exception at the last the last play in the first half, and U you know, I thought I thought they would They were hustling around, they were doing it, and I think, you know, obviously the tackling could have

been better. Offensively, we really, you know, I thought that you know, James had some good runs and you know at times that we didn't do a good job, and we got beaten. You know, we struggled a little bit throwing at times, and um, you know they're a good football team. They're they're undefeated for a reason. Um, you know, it's just it's just tough. James Robinson seventeen carries seventy three yards in the game, and and your young quarterback had the pretty good running game to go with it.

The protection had issues. The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't get a lot of sacks stuck, but certainly pressured. Your quarterback ends up the day with four interceptions. That's a tough day for any young quarterback. It is. I mean, they gave it. They were pressure on us quite a bit, you know what I'm saying. And plus they got the two rushes on the outside, so it was you know, it was tough. I mean, we knew that coming in. We knew would be a great challenge. Um, you know, I wish we

could have hit some of the plays. You know, we felt like, you know, we we had some opportunities, but

we weren't able to take advantage of it. And I think you know, the big play obviously, when you're in the red zone and the all gets tipped, Um, you know, because you can really get the game close right there, and and you're going in and half, so you know, it's just a tough break and you know, we'll just keep fighting and um, keep these guys going in coaches and plays and going into the game without your two

starting cornerback c J. Henderson Sydney Jones. And then during the course of the game you have some injuries happening with Daniel Thomas, Andrew Norwell, Josh Allen, d J. Hayton, and Tyler Eifert. Uh, that's a tough way to finish the game, is having guys not finish. Yeah, I mean, you know, it gets some guys opportunity and obviously to see um, you know what they do when they go in there. And then you know, obviously we're struggling a little bit there. We're and you know, and those guys

are trying. I mean, we're in the three deep off coverage and a guy, you know, makes a great play down the sideline run by us. So you know, it's not like it's from the lack of effort. Um. You know, the other teams making some plays and you know, we just gotta keep working with these guys and keep getting

them better. Thank you, Oh, thank you, Jeff. That's the first word with head coach Doug Barrone, presented by Navy Mutual and during those who served, We're back in a moment, the Better Health Locker Room Report around the Corner three the final Steelers over the Jaguars, and the Jaguars post game on Jaguars Radio on seventeen carries good for seventy three yards. Also chipped in with two catches for twenty

one yards. James Conner led the way thirteen carries average six point eight yards per carry, good for eighty nine yards for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Deante Johnson at twelve grabs for a hundred and eleven yards UH today, including a spectacular one after Trey Herndon appeared to break up the pass that ended up with Pittsburgh a first and goal on the one. Claypool caught four for fifty nine for a score. Ebron four for thirty six for a touchdown. DJ Chark led the way. The only Jaguar player to

catch more than three passes was Chark. He caught four for forty one. A Zigbo came in late and caught three for five, but nobody else with more than two receptions on the day for the Jaguar, a lot of high tackle totals because the Jaguars were allowing a lot

of pass completions in the secondary. Joe Schobert had eight solos five assists on the day, Chris Claybrooks had eight and two and six and three for Jared Wilson, and of course Daniel Thomas had the interception at the end of the first half before leaving in the second half with an arm injury. So that's it individually for the

game today, guys. There was a point in the fourth quarter of CBS showed the graphic Fred that Deontay Deantay Johnson had twelve catches and at that point in the game and the fourth quarter Lewton had eleven completions in the game. That just kind of tells you the difference in the offensive day. Now, Lewton finished with sixteen completions. But uh, they just couldn't find anything consistently in that passing game. They just didn't have a lot of time

to do it either. Once the second half rolled around. Here comes to pass rush for the Steelers. Friend, Yeah, JP, just just going back looking at the missed opportunities, you know, for at least in the first half of the ball game. I thought that was the theme. UH. First first pass of the game to Kiling Cole right there on our stide line. The ball was a little high and behind. UH second goal tip pass to Tyson uhlu ended up

an interception. Uh. There was a huge third and nine in the second quarters, about ten minutes left in the game. Well in the second quarters, about tim is left in the second uh thirty nine. A good ball, good ball to Connolly. It was dropped, could extended to drive very next possession, still get the ball. They go down to score. Um Johnson on the Steeler side, tip passed to himself. He catches it at the one yard line, you know.

So just just little things like that, and also the interception to overthrow the effort, um show just opportunities that were missed there. And I was a little bit all over the place with those. But what I'm signing trying to say is the Steelers they capitalize on their opportunities. They made plays. We did not make plays, and thus we didn't capitaliz eyes on the opportunities there. And UH, when you're doing that and you're not a good football team,

you're gonna get blown out as such. Yeah, it's hard. A lot of times when you're playing well, you get a bounce or to that just and that's what happened. That's exactly what happened today, Fred, and you report they capitalized. Fred, a lot of defensive players getting their hands on the passes from Jake Luton today. You know, it's one thing in the secondary, those balls get hit. But how does a quarterback as big as Luten get as many balls tipped near the line of scrimmage as he seems to. Yeah,

that's a good one. Uh, Mike, That's that's a really good one. Uh. The trajectory at the time when when he's drawing those short you know, a little short, they're they're spiraling down. Uh, those low pass they're just going down low and and and the defenders they're timing them up really well. I think from an offensive lyne protection standpoint, they have to block better. You know, they have to

understand when these guys are gon to jump. And back in the day, I remember the offensive line coach, you used to tell our guys if they're gonna jump you, now you gotta be to push these guys. You gotta be to squatch your hips and squat these guys and pretty much dump them on their backs and they won't jump again. You know you're gonna minimize that that jumping.

So those guys gotta get better at whatever the quarterback step progression is, whether it's three five step, you want to make sure as an offensive alignement you you do something. I don't want to call it dirty, but you do be overly aggressive and make those defenders pay for jumping in the air like that. All right, guys, let's come back in a moment and we'll get our Jaguars Radio Network Player of the Game voting. This could be tough today.

Time now for our Jaguars Radio Network Player of the Game voting, And if you've just joined us, I get a vote, Mike gets a vote, and Fred gets a vote and a half to break any ties. So Mike, why don't you get a started today? All Right, You're not gonna love this, but I'm gonna do it anyway. Okay, I didn't think

there were many great candidates in this game. Six putts averaging fifty four yards for Logan Cook today, including a long of sixty seven. That's all I got, the average fifty four yards of putt. That's pretty good, right, he did his job. I don't know how many other guys executed their at a high level today. So I told you you wouldn't like it. I'm going with punter Logan Cook as my vote today. You guys are welcome to vote sad state of Affairs thread. Would you like to

lead the way? That's hilarious, all right, Mike, I'm gonna go with my running back guy man James Robinson. You know I love I love the four point three per carry on seventeen attempts seventy three yards along of eighteen uh in the run game, then U two for two, two targets, two catches twenty one yard long and fifteen and the receiving game so uh plus he crossed a thousand uh yards from scrimmage as uh joining myself. Did

Mojo do it? I don't know if Mojo did it, but anyway, he's in a good company, so I'm going to vote for him today. And we'll make it official and it's not the punter, James Robinson, the running back. Will I get my voter as well? Yes, that was really the only positive thing going on offense today as a whole. Certainly not enough, but yes, seventy three yards on the ground on seventeen carries four point three average. He did he have a catch today? Is? Yeah, I

have two catches for yards. That's right. So James Robinson the Jaguars Radio Network Player of the game. We outvoted Mike fred by the way I looked him up. Freddie for you. Morris jumps threw had ninety one yards rushing at four thirty six through the area, indeed seventy seven yards from scrimmage. Jaguars post Game presented by t i A Bank Continues Dealers seven Jaguars three ninety consecutive loss for the Jags tied for the longest losing streak in a single year in franchise history. The other time it happened Let's go through the injury report presented by Baptist Health, changing healthcare for good and unfortunately this is

a long notable list today. Let's start on the offensive side. Andrew Norwell left the game with an arm injury. The left guard for the Jags, Tyler Shatley Finnish the game there and uh Iffort the tight end with a hip issue of the fourth quarter. It looked like he was kind of holding on to that left tip after a catch. Came out of the football game now the most the rest of these are on defense. Daniel Thomas, the safety,

had an arm issue and left the game. Chris Claybrooks was out early, came back in, and then a left groin issue. He was out for the rest of the day. Later, d J. Hayden a right leg injury, and he had a hamstring issue earlier in the year, of course that put him on injured reserve. He came back today for the first time, but he was off to the side, was actually on the exercise bike at one point. Don't

believe he came back in. But Josh Allen in the third quarter left the game with a left knee injury and had to be helped up the walkway back to the locker room area back underneath the stands here at T I A A bank Field and certainly that one's that one's unfortunate. I mean, all these you don't want to see the list like that. But when Josh Allen goes down like that and can't even make his way

on up the ramp, you know, it's probably not very good. Well, yeah, you hope that it's not the worst case scenario, you know, toward a c L something along those lives, because and you know, it's one thing to miss some of these guys down the stretch. You've got other guys you're gonna take a look at, you know, and we'll see what happens. But you know, an a c L if that's a twelve month till you're back, and you're never usually back

fully that first year. I mean, this could impact Josh Allen uh well in the two honestly, you know, And if it that's the worst case scenario, we don't know that, so let's hope for the best. But that would be worse than the loss obviously coming out of it. You know, and you're playing an undefeated team Fred. You don't expect to necessarily win this game. I'm not saying the Jaguar players don't, but most of the fan base didn't expect it. Man.

But just the best thoughts are not only for Josh Allen all these guys that got banged up, but his looked like it most might be the most serious going forward now might uh you know, uh, we're definitely praying that it's not the absolute worst worst case scenario. But what I can say, and and and maybe the coaches need to take a look at shutting them down for

the year. Yeah, I mean when you look at everything, look at the remaining schedule, they're they're they're playing all teams that are basically fighting to get in the playoffs. You got the Browns coming coming to town. You gotta go to Minnesota. Then you got the Titans, you got the Ravens, and you got the five and five Bears. Right now, who's you know? They're gonna do whatever they're

gonna do. So I don't know the reason to to finish them out this year, you know, especially if it's even if it's just an mc L that's another three to four weeks and that would be probably the most my oldest of it all Uh, considering you know you got meniscus. You can do. It's so much can go wrong with the knee. But I would consider looking at putting them out. I R letting them just heal up. It's it's no reason to throw them out there this year. You want it nine, you're not doing anything with it.

And uh, guy actually selected so high getting ready to to to join the team and hopefully have a better season next year. You have the injury report presented by Baptist Health, changing healthcare for good. Let's post ten seconds for station identification on the Jaguars Radio Network when we return final thoughts ahead of next week's Cleveland Brown's Jacksonville Jaguars matchup the t I A Bank Field today a loss to the Steelers twenty seven three, the final nine

Final Moments the Jaguars postgame presented by t I A A Bank, JP Shadrick, Mike Dempsey and Pride of the Jaguars running

back Fred Taylor. Well, It's nine in a row, Fred, nine straight losses and next week, the Cleveland Browns come to town, and as you said, they are fighting for a playoff spot themselves. They today got a win, the Browns over the Eagles seventeen. The running game was good today, chob Hunter fourteen on the ground. Their defense was really good today. They had an interception return for a touchdown and a sack another time. And they took the ball away three times in fact, so today defense they ran

the ball. They got Baker Mayfield still, but he was not spectacular today. But it's as you said, Fred, this is the first of a long line of teams that are fighting for the postseason. So you're not expecting any kind of letdown next week. I mean, uh, and Baker doesn't have to be great. Nick Chubb is back, they got Kareem Hunt. They can rely on their running game in that defense, and and that's the reason they're seven and three. They've you know, they've skated by some teams

they haven't played, you know, a ton of great teams. Uh. They they were blowing out by the Steelers a couple of weeks back. But you know, they're a team who believe in their running game, you know, and they're happy to have Nick Chuff back and he's running like a grown man out there since he's been back. Uh. So, yeah, they're a team that that that's they're they're in contention, and I know they know that there are a few

games behind the Steelers. Uh, but they're in position to get ready to hopefully get them a wild card spot. So they're gonna come in here and they're gonna say we're gonna run this ball, and we're gonna play defense, and we're gonna get after you like pretty much like the Steelers did, and they're gonna try to get away, get out of Jacksonville. Would have win so they can try and extend their uh cushion on the Ravens, who's the game behind them, so they can secure a playoff

spot for the first time some time. Yeah, they had a good defensive performance today without their best player, my Scarrett out on the COVID list. He's one of the leading contenders for defensive m v P in the league FRED and if he is back, and he's been wrecking people's game plans with his pass rush putting it all together this year. Yeah, he's a monster out there. But again, just going back looking through it, many they played well, you know they've played well. They beat a pretty good

coach team some weeks ago. You put up almost fifty on on the Cowboys, so they're they're showing abilities to score the ball as well as uh played pretty solid against the rug I mean against the other teams offenses. So uh, we'll see what it's gonna be next week when they come in here. But I know they're not coming in here looking for a letdown. So there you have it. That'll do it for Jaguar's post game. Fred, have a great holiday, Happy thanks good man. I can't

eat turkey this year. I don't know why I set myself up for some reason, I do this vegan vegetarian thing. My timing. It's awful goodness. I know I nine hundred bucks for for meal prep. I didn't even pay attention to it. I just jumped out there. So no meat for me. I'll eat, I'll be carved up. I'll be eating all on the side. This might be your first and last Thanksgiving not eating meat. Friend's gonna be shredded though, man, I think it would be my my my third time.

That's why I said my time has been bad. I don't know before again shredded Mike. I don't know, man, because I'm a car up. You got masks, got this stuff right, I got some salads and stuff like. You don't need any turkey man. The last week my life has been full of guard bunzo beans. I got to talk to the chef about that. But you guys, enjoy your holidays, man, Happy Thanksgiving to everybody out there. Let's listen, stay say they out the all right, Fred, we'll talk
