Welcome to the newest addition to JACC: Case Reports, called "Meet the Editors." This page gives us an inside look into the lives of our esteemed editors; explaining how their careers evolved and offering advice to other cardiology fellows.

Dr. Sofian Johar is Associate Editor for JACC: Case Reports and Consultant Cardiologist in Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong, Brunei (2016). He specialized in electrophysiology and devices in Royal Brompton Hospital Sydney Street, London, UK and Kings College Hospital Denmark Hill, London, UK.He has BA(Hons) in Neuroscience Class: II.1 from the University of Cambridge (1996) and completed his MB BChir from the University of Cambridge. In 2001, he obtained MRCP (UK) Royal College of Physicians London and in 2007, he received his PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine from the Kings College London, UK. Complementing his academic background, Sofian also has a Certificate of Completion of Training in Cardiology, UK (2012) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow (2014).Sofian was very active and has made many achievements throughout his career. Some of these include the BJCA-Cordis International Research Awards – Finalist (2005), British Society of Echocardiography Accreditation in TTE (2009) and EHRA Accreditation in Cardiac Devices Level 2 (2015). He has produced several publications and contributed chapters in books that were published internationally. He is also an advisor to the RIPAS Hospital Resuscitation Committee.Through this podcast, Dr. Johar takes us through his career pathway, explains why he decided to move back to Brunei and he gives advice to young fellows.
