As of publishing, 33 women have been killed in Australia since January 1 2025 (source: Sherele Moody/Femicide Watch). While there has been a lot of talk from both sides of the political divide about the issue over the last few tears, there has been little action to combat the current femicide epidemic in Australia. Dr Vincent Hurley made waves with his appearance on Q&A lecturing politicians on this very inaction, as a criminology lecturer and a former cop he has seen the firsthand the brutal reality of violence against women and children. Dr Hurley sits down with Abbie to talk about why we need to change the way we look at violence against women, the problems victims face in the police and legal systems, and how community support can help vicitms.
