Episode description

In this episode, we uncover a shocking truth: our parents were out here just… making things up.

From the very real threat of swallowing a seed and growing an entire watermelon in your stomach, to the high-risk decision of pulling a funny face in case the wind changed and you were stuck like that forever — our childhoods were basically fuelled by creative storytelling and mild fear.

And now, in a full-circle parenting moment, we find ourselves doing the exact same thing.

We revisit the classic old wives’ tales that shaped our behaviour (and our anxiety), question how we ever believed them, and admit that we’ve started passing a few of these gems down to our own kids. Because sometimes, “because I said so” just doesn’t hit the same as a potential internal fruit harvest.

So join us as we laugh through the lies, the logic (or lack thereof), and the realisation that parenting might just be one long game of improvisation.

They lied to us.
And honestly?

We get it now. 😄
