Episode description

We've all heard of the witch trials in Salem, but did you know Scotland had their very own trials a hundred years before? This week, Olivia touches upon the Salem witch trials and how history led to that point. There is written evidence of the condemnation of witchcraft as far back as 1800 BC!

In 1590, over 70 people were accused of witchcraft in the small Scottish coastal town of North Berwick. Join us as we discuss the trials, the mass hysteria that accompanied them and the tragic story of a restless ghost of an accused lady seen wandering Holyrood Palace, burnt and stripped naked.
