Episode description

Our second episode of Month of Macabre is about the terrifying true story of Anneliese Michel, a young woman from Bavaria, West Germany. She harrowingly underwent 67 exorcisms in the space of 10 months, and tragically died at the age of 23. She'd underwent over five years of psychiatric treatment with no improvement, and her family turned to the church in total desperation to save their daughter.

Two priests were sued for negligible homicide after her death, and the case inspired The Exorcism of Emily Rose, a 2005 movie.

What actually happened to Anneliese? Was it demons or treatment-resistant mental illness? Let us know what you think.
