In twenty fourteen, there was a post by an anonymous user on the Bitcoin subredits claiming to be a time traveler from the year twenty twenty five. In this post, our time traveler makes a year by year price prediction for bitcoin's dollar price and so far with uncanny precision. This is what our time traveler says. I'm sending this message from the year twenty twenty five. Please move on. If you don't believe me, I have no way of proving what

I'm going to tell you. I don't want to waste your time, so I'm merely going to explain what happened. He goes on to say that the value of bitcoin has increased by a factor ten on average every year until twenty thirteen. Zero point one dollar in twenty ten, one dollar in twenty eleven, ten dollars in twenty twelve, and one hundred dollars in twenty thirteen. So that's how far someone posting in twenty fourteen would have knowledge about bitcoin's price.

He then goes on to say from then on, a slight slowdown, as the valuing increased by a factor ten every two years, one thousand dollars in twenty fifteen, and ten thousand dollars in twenty seventeen, and he absolutely smashed those two targets. Looking at bitcoin's dollar prize now, ten thousand dollars doesn't seem like science fiction because we've been there. But back in twenty fourteen, this was a bold prediction because no one believed one bitcoin would ever cost

ten thousand dollars. What's even more fascinating is that our time traveler nailed at the year when bitcoin hit both one thousand dollars and ten thousand dollars. That's not nothing. He goes on to say that bitcoin hits one hundred thousand dollars in twenty nineteen and one million dollars in twenty twenty one. He also says that from then onwards, there is no good way of expressing bitcoin's value in dollars, as the dollar is no longer used. There are two main forms

of wealth in today's world, he says, land and bitcoin. So I'm not a time traveler like this guy, but I know a few things. I know that there will never be more than twenty to one million bitcoins. Just under eighteen million coins have been created so far. About four million of those coins are lost forever, meaning that we currently have about fourteen million coins to share. Fourteen million coins. The population of California alone is forty million.

Think about that for a second. There will never be more than roughly seventeen a million usable coins for the entire planet. The supply of bitcoin is fixed, and the market will determine the demand when people realize just how scarce a bitcoin is. I believe there will be a stampede to collect just one full bitcoin. Luckily, one bitcoin is divisible into one hundred million satoshis or SATs for short, the smallest unit of a bitcoin, but there is not

nearly enough for everyone to accumulate enough SATs to make a full bitcoin. The supply is fixed and the demand is free to move, and that's why we will see bitcoins dollar prize skyrocket. The only commodity ass is here is as bitcoin is a person's time. Other than a human being's time on this earth,

there is no commodity as scarce as bitcoin. Imagine living in the year twenty twenty five, looking back from the year twenty twenty five two today, and imagine you had the chance to accumulate enough sets to make one full bitcoin in our time Traveler's world, a world where it doesn't even make sense to talk about bitcoin in terms of dollars anymore. One full bitcoin would make you incredibly rich. So let me know what you think. Is our time Traveler

onto something we will see. Bitcoin cost one hundred thousand dollars in twenty nineteen and one million dollars in twenty twenty one. Let me know what you think in the commons down below, and until next time, keep accumulating those sets
