program. Jerry Hicky here, Happy Saturday, and you know what, it's almost November. Wow. Time is flying when you're having fun, and my wife and I are having a lot of fun in any event. But we're going to talk about your needs today because you know, nutrition is important. I am aging in a very good fashion. I'm going to be seventy soon, and my brain is working full throttle. I have a lot of strength and energy. And it's a lifestyle thing. It's decisions you're making how you
live. I don't drink very much alcohol, far less than I did two or three years ago. I mean, if I had to put it in some kind of relative amount, I'd say maybe two beers a week or two glasses of wine a week. That's all alcohol is never a healthy thing. But you know, when you're at with your friends at dinner, that's just how it is. I don't smoke. I try to avoid pollution. I had a very healthy diet, fantastic diet. I exercise regularly, and I
love to exercise, and I exercise my brain. I'm doing all kinds of puzzles and things. I mean, it's but I'm learning on a daily basis. That's so important. I'm learning new things, solving new things all the time. Very important for your brain. But I take supplements. Now, if a healthy thirty year old came in and said, hey, I need a supplement, I'd say, you know, well, in general, a healthy thirty year old take a multivitamin. It doesn't have to be anything special,
just high quality and pure. You know, good quality ingredients and pure. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant. And I tell that thirty year old, Yeah, depending on your lifestyle, you might need a probiotic, depending on how much your exercise, you might need certain things. But of course if there's diseases, then there's other supplements you have to consider. But what about a guy like me, I mean, I'm a healthy guy. I have a lot of fun. I'm on my bike all the time.

Supplements are incredibly important when you get to my age. When you hit your fifties, they become important. When you hit your sixties and seventies, they become critical. I mean, they're really important as a part of a healthy lifestyle
if you want along successfully, fun, interesting life. They really become important now two or three years ago, I would have taken this supplement for my muscles, but now I'm taking it for my brain. God forbid you have a nasty accident or something, you survive better. If you have muscle, you heal better. You're less likely to fall and hurt your head, or fall and break a hip or something because your muscles will
keep you stable. Your joints hurt less because the muscles support them. That's why you know after you have knee replacement surgery or you hurt your knee, they send you for physical therapy because the muscles around the knee and in the legs and in the hip, etc. They support your knee, so it is less pain. You also look good in your T shirt and shorts. I mean, that's always a nice thing, right, It's good to have a good self positive self image. So older people, if you look at
the food pyramid, which always stinks, I mean it's never great. And the food pyramid previously has increased the rate of obesity and heart disease, and it's contributed to diabetes. But if you look at the government's food py it's not totally wrong. But they don't tell older people that have sufficient protein, especially if you exercise, especially if you're active. They just don't. And if you don't have sufficient protein, well you lose your muscles, you lose
your strength, you lose your elasticity, it hurts your mobility. I mean, it just hurts everything. You start to get all kinds of pain, you break down. So what's in the protein, Well, mostly what would be in reference to muscle would be the branch chain amino acids lucid isel leucine. Unveiling they had a branch chain amino acids bcaa branch chain amino acids. Well, what they create is the stuff in active HX, the HMB to hydroxy methyl buty beta hydroxy beta methol. Buttry that's the real name. So
we know what's great for your muscles. Now we know what's good for your brain. So here's a systematic review in meta analysis and it's King's College, London, and a whole bunch of other places in England and Wales that have done this research. It's in the American Journal Clinical Nutrition, which is a really good journal, and they're saying that the stuff in active HX. I'm going to call it active HX from now on because that's what we sell it
as. But it's HMB, but it's the one used clinically, the one used in research, that's really pure, that really works successfully in research. And these are people with clinical conditions, Okay, these are people with you know, things like like like a damaged spine, or maybe they had a stroke, or they have diabetes and heart disease, et cetera. And when you have the clinical conditions, you lose your strength and you lose your muscle. Your muscle wastes. But you see the same thing with aging. I
mean, even though you don't have a clinical condition. I don't have diabetes, I don't have heart disease, but I know I can lose muscle unless I do things to reverse that trend. Because losing muscle is really bad. It's worse than you might think. It's not just about mobility and not falling and getting around. It's also healing and surviving and living longer because they've shown like that, there's a bunch of studies in older people with grip strength and
people with stronger grip strength they live longer. It's straightforward data, it's strong supportive data. So IJ just like with these clinical diseases and clinical conditions, aging affects your muscle. So HMB is beta hydroxy beta methyl butyrate. It's good for your muscle. It puts mass into your muscle, even in people with diseases and older people like myself. So you want to keep your muscle,
and I'll tell you something to support this. There was a really cool study and people who were bed ridden, you know, they were stuck in bed for two weeks. Older people, older people lose muscle fast, okay, but it accelerates when you're in bed with like a broken foot or a broken ankle, or a broken hip, or you hurt your spine or you've got the fluid pneumonia. You lose a lot of muscle and strength and it's really hard to get it back. HMB, the active HX reverses this powerful
research supporting this, a lot of research. So when they did a study in bed ridden older people over the ages. I think it was fifty five or sixty. Those who were in bed for two weeks or more lost a lot of strength and muscle volume. They lost their muscle mass going to fat, they were going to seed. But those who took the HMB, the active HX, and this is the stuff used in that study, they retained
their muscle. They didn't lose muscle. So this is fifteen randomized PLACEBA controlled human clinical trials, two hundred patients in all with various diseases, and they gave them the act of HX because that was used in the study, and it kept them muscle mass. It actually improved their strength a little bit. It was very strong evidence. So this is crazy. Not only did people with things like diabetes and different injuries and diseases, not only did they keep
their muscle, they actually improved their strength a little bit. That's very important. They didn't lose strength because greater muscle, better strength, improve mobility, improve flexion. They've reflection is like your ability to move your arms and your legs, like bend your elbows and your knees, et cetera, and walk and go upstairs and all better flection does study after study after study you give somebody who's in their fifties, sixty seventies, eighties, nineties, and beyond,
hopefully this is a beyond for all of us. You give them the active HX. They have better flexion, that's fantastic, better mobility, stronger resistance to disease. They live longer, more successfully, happier, fewer falls, better balance, stronger legs, Stronger core muscles like the stomach and the thigh muscles, et cetera. Hip muscles, lower back muscles, that's really
important. Core muscle. It supports knee comfort if you had a knee replacement surgery or if you have arthritis, because the muscles support the knee, you look better, you feel better. But that is increasing evidence that the active HX is good for your brain. Every day I take a score, even the days I don't have to win. Tense exercise, like I love to go on my bike for forty minutes. Then I like to do stretches for
about five minutes. And they're not static stretches because I'm going to lift weights. They're movement stretches, so I'm trying to get blood float to my muscles or my joints, et cetera. Of course you don't get much blood flow to your joint, but you want a round the joint, you know. And then I lift weights and sometimes I also mix in the body bag, which is like a big punching bag. So I do that like three times a week. I go onto bike daily, but adding the punching bag or
adding the weights, I do like three times a week. So that's pretty cool. So here's active HX. It's the Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which is a great journal. It's it improved or a hip rehabilitation in people, a lung disease they had. They had infectious bronchiectuses UH. Bronchiactisis is generally seen in UH. I mean you see it in people with cystic fibrosis is
pretty much one hundred percent of the time. But in the general public, it's from an infection like the flu or covid or one of those things, and you get inflammation and the lungs and you get you get destruction of lung tissue, lung damage, you get lung damage, and you wind up with shortness of breath, et cetera. I mean, the shortness of breath is so bad you get nail clubbing and people who can't breathe, their their their nail, their their nails dot the club. Their fingers got to swill.
So this could result in hospitalization or worse. What's worse than hospitalization? Figure that out. So it improved their quality of life, It improved their strength, it improved their rehabilitation. But here's the thing, this is the really cool thing that came out of study. Once again, they used the ingredient and active CHX. In this study, it inhibited myostatin. This is like
an unbelievable finding. Let me go to a break. So active HX inhibited myostatin and people going for physical and lung
rehabilitation. These are really sick people. Myostatin blocks muscle growth. So myostatin is very low when you're young, when you're growing and when you're developing muscle, but it increases with age and the myostatin blocks muscle growth. For instance, people with chronic progressive neuromuscular conditions, they're trying to develop ugs to block myostatin. So people with muscle dystrophee, this wasting disease and the muscles.
That's so awful they're trying to figure out blocking myostatin will help bring back their strength and muscle and help them survive. So myostatin levels increase in someone like in their sixties and seventies pretty dramatically, and it prevents them from growing muscle. So when is that terrible? Well, it's terrible if you had a fall and you're stuck in bed. It's terrible if you have the flu because you're losing muscle and you can't gain it back. You're losing strength, you
can't get it back there. It's going to affect your mobility, you balance, your enjoyment of life, your survival. Half of them took the Active HX. The other half took placebo powder. Now
here's the rub on this study. Here's how this study is different. These women were healthy. They were working out twice a week for two months, so they were on a guided exercise program. Because they exercised. They were all doing well, but the ones on the Active HX did much better. Once again, this improved flexion flexi, the ability to move their limbs, the ability to move their legs and their arms, to bend their elbows,
to bend their knees. Their muscle strength improved, control of muscles improved. They were strong, They had greater endurance and greater energy. So to sum that up, because that's important to sum that up. In this study of older women, healthy older one with exercise, adding the active hs increase their strength, increase their physical performance, increase their endurance, improve their energy, improve their flection moving their limbs. Now that's a winner. That is a
winner because when you get older, you could suffer from cyclopenia. Generally, by the time you're seventy five or eighty, you suffered arcopedia severe loss of muscle and strength. So that affects how long you live. You have increased risk of falling and getting an injury, even a fracture like a broken arm or a broken hip, or something that improves your mobility, your resistance to infection, your survival. God forbid you have a heart attack or a stroke
or something like that. Now here's the thing. Older people need more protein than the general public. They do, and the food pyramids wrong about that. It's not going to be enough protein. You need more loosine specifically. But here's the shortcut. You take the activate jets. You're getting that thing, the loocine, because that's what builds you muscle. So here's the study of Air Force jet pilots one hundred and fifty. It's the University of Illinois
or Banners Champaign. They work with the Air Force. They have a research center net works with the Air Force and the Armed forces. They gave these jet pilots either placebo you know, something fake, a fake powder, or they gave them a combination of fish oils, vitamins, loutine and ACTIVATEJX because that's the stuff used in the study, Our activate JAX and by the way, it was our lutine also. Now, both groups of jet pilots fighter
jet pilots gained muscle and strength. It was a twelve week exercise regiment. Once again guide it in this place where they do all this physical research. It improved their memory retention, it improved the rate of processing info. I mean it was very powerful. It was very

I mean that's really strong. So again, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. This is in the journal Nature's
Scientific Reports. Basically, they were giving them Krill oil and Invite Multi and active HX. Here's what they got. Because now they're looking at the brain. They said, hey, this stuff is working. It's not just for their muscles and their mobility and their strength and their endurance and their energy. It's for their brain. So these are young, powerful people. They're fighter jet pilots and helicopter pilots and transport jet plane pilots. I mean, these

So there was a twenty percent improvement and fluid intelligence and a five percent improvement and reaction time. So how quickly you think? So this stuff
is like real? This stuff is real. It improved requil their overall cognitive function, you know, reasoning, solving problem, how quickly the brain function, paying attention, all those things improved and improved their executive function, you know, like you know, multitasking, getting things done on time, and planning things, et cetera, solving issues. As study included twenty two hundred older people in the study. But what makes our multis even better for the memory, Well, we have token triano
wiles. Small amounts of tokeo triano walls get into the brain and successfully reduce inflammation in the brain. That's really important because inflammation increases in an aging brain. And there's real vitamin E all eight structures, the takof rolls and toko triangles. The real vitamin E gets into the brain successfully, not the fake vitamin E that a lot of multivitamins have. This is the real vitamin E. The fake vitamin E gets stuck in the liver and doesn't get to your

For memory and for vision, and methyl tetrahydrofolic You know, most multis have folic acid, and thirty to forty percent of people in my age group can't use folic acid, and that's really important because folic acid is a giver
of life. The methyl tetrahydrofolate gives you the fountain of youth. Nitric oxide, that literally is the fountain of youth. Nitric Oxide levels drop with age. So what's bad about that, Well,
that affects your blood flow. That affects your circulation. That increases your risk of high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, heart disease, et cetera, heart failure. So when you get the methyl tetrahydrofolate, it's one of the things you need besides probatic bacteria, good diet to create nitric oxide, and nitric oxide is the fountain of youth. You're bringing back youth when you restore the ability to create nitric oxide. It's the giver of life, it really is. But you also need methyl tetra hydrofolate to create healthy cells. That are free of cancer. You need methyl tetrahydrofolate to create healthy cells that are free of cancer.
So what's the issue. Well, regular folic acid that's used in most multi vitamins of older people. Up to forty percent of older people can't convert that to methyl tetra hydrofolic successfully, so that increases the risk of heart failure, high blood pressure, memory problems, fatigue, injury, poor healing with
injuries. I mean, it's just bad. cells go wrong.
