Get ready for tomorrow's Nutritional Science Today right here, right now. Hello, and welcome to Invite Health Radio. I am doctor Amanda Williams, Scientific director at Invite Health. Happy Saturday morning to everyone out there. Sounds like you're off to a chilli start to your morning, which is the opposite of what I'm experiencing. It's already starting to warm up nicely down here in South
Florida, and I am excited to get today's show off and running. I have many things that I want to discuss on this Saturday morning with you. Of course, I do a lot of research throughout the week, and I
read through a lot of different scientific journals and studies. But I was tasked with a special thing to do this week, and in doing that, I thought, oh, you know what, I think I'm going to talk about that on Saturday show because it just kind of reinforces to me once again when we look at the American diet and the detrimental outcomes to a standard American diet, and when we incorporate in good foods, how well our body actually responds
to that. So in any event, I'm gonna get into digestive health a bit today because I was looking through some science throughout the week and it just once once I started reading everything again, I was like, why why is it that we are still stuck at the point that we are unaware that the way that our foods interact with our body can either help us or hurt us. And of course taking the right nutrients in addition to your food so hence
supplementation, how beneficial that can really be. And unfortunately, there's so many things that are out there that people use on a regular basis that are just
really not good for you. So I'm going to talk about that. Of course, I always like to talk about, you know, things that are happening that are relevant, And if you've listened to me before in the past, you know I like sports, so it's like sports spectacular right now, because you got the the winding down of hockey leading into the playoffs, you got the kickoff to baseball, you have, you know, the Women's Final
four. I watch both of the games yesterday. Of course I watched the Red Wings lose to the Rangers. But the Rangers, I mean, you guys have a good team up there. You guys are looking really strong going into the playoffs. And then of course I follow IndyCar racing and there's so many things that I like to dabble in in terms of my sports watching.
But we know that with sports, we oftentimes have athletes who will come in to Invite Health who are seeking out our help and support with different supplements that they can take. So perhaps you yourself are an avid sports fan or an athlete yourself and you're looking for different nutrients, please stop by an Invite Health store talk to one of our nutritional experts. They are wonderful. They are so well versed on so many different health topics, and that is a free
service, so you can take advantage of that. You can, you know, by one of the stores and just have a chat with them and they can help identify which supplements would be most ideal for your specific needs. So today is the International Day of Sports as well as the National Student Athlete Day, so I have sports on my mind. It's a big sports weekend and I will be watching everything, and the Tigers are off to a great start as well, so hey, you know, for those who like sports,
this is a very good weekend. And I know for all of you up there in New York, you're probably still recovering from having an earthquake, which I was absolutely surprised by, and I'm sure you were too, but you know that those things they happened, but I'm sure it was quite alarming for anyone that actually experienced that felt that that rattle of the earth. And of course we have the solar eclipse that is right around the corner coming up on
Monday, so let me get right to it. As far as today's main focus, which is digestive health, and I deal with so many individuals on a regular basis who are seeking out supplemental support for perhaps acid reflux or maybe they have irritable bowel. There are a variety of different ways that GI problems can arise and present, and each person's different. And I remember many years ago when someone stopped I invite and they were asking me. They said,
oh, my doctor says, you know, I have pancreatic insufficiency. And you know, I pause for a moment, because back when I was in medical school, we didn't really talk about pancreatic insufficiency. But now that I've been in the natural world for so long, I recognize, Oh, what they are actually describing is the lack of pancreatic enzymes being released from your pancreas that aid in digestion. So why does that happen? Well, there's a
variety of different reasons as to why this can occur. First and foremost is aging. I mean, as we get older, oftentimes many things become less efficient and the release of digestive enzymes and adequate amounts starts to diminish. So this is why we have offered digestive HX, and it's remained one of our most popular formulations for so many years because what the digestive HX actually is,
it's this wonderful blend of digestive enzymes. So as we are combating aging and our pancreas is making less enzymes and it becomes more difficult to properly digest and absorb our foods. We can take digestive HX and I'll talk about what's actually contained in this formulation in a moment. But let me just go back to you know why I even wanted to talk about this today. So during the week, I was looking into a topic and that topic happened to be digestive
aids. And in doing that, I came across once again a topic that I like to discuss, which is why is it that people continue to take the over the counter ant acids? And when you look at gourd, so gastro esophageal reflux disease, and you look at the statistics on this, we know that this is quite prevalent here in the United States because of the foods that people are eating, those ultra processed foods and following that standard American diet.
But gourd is a chronic and highly prevalent disorder, which which is completely avoidable. But when you look at the review, and this is what I did this week as I was going through and I was looking at all of the epidemialogy or the statistics on how common GIRD is, and I always tell folks, you know, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that, you know, acid reflux and other GI issues are a problem in this
country. You just can look at a Sunday circular for any of your local pharmacies and you will see that they dedicate you know, a good two pages to all of those, you know, acid reflux medications, the anti acids, things for diarrhea, things for bloating, you know, the gas X, the thumbs, all of those, and you say, oh, oh, yeah, this they since they advertise so much on this, this must
be a problem. And it clearly is that. It is estimated that it's probably upwards close to thirty percent of the US population is dealing with acid reflux or falls under that umbrella of gourd. So that's a really large amount of individuals. You know, when you look statistically at certain conditions, you know, once you're hitting that two percent of the population, three percent, four percent, then you're saying, okay, yeah, that's fairly common. But
when you hit thirty percent, that's an awful lot of people. So in looking at the studies throughout the week and then identifying, you know, the most common treatments that people turn to, whether that be based off of the advice of their physician, or just you know, they are self medicating and they go into a pharmacy and they get an over the counter ant acid something like TOMS. I always pause and go, you know, why is it that we're still, you know, doing this. Why don't we first and
foremost eat better foods. Why don't we support the way that our body absorbs and breaks down those foods with the help of a product like digestive HX. If we take one capsule of digestive HX prior to a meal, this will help the body be more ready to break those proteins and fats and carbohydrates down. So we know that the aging process brings with that a slowing of the release of pancreatic enzymes. Hence we fast forward to now there's so many people
being diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency and what is the common treatment for that. While the doctors will say, well, we're going to prescribe you digestive enzymes. So we've been having this product, the digestive HX for so many years because we recognize how the physiology of this is working in the body. And so then you say, okay, well we partner the up with the bad foods, and we've got, you know, close to thirty percent of the population
dealing with acid reflux. And all of these folks are for the most part running off and taking their tombs. And you look at the sales of antacids in this country, and I mean Tombs in particular. They are the leading brand of antacid tablets in the United States, and they pride themselves in this.
You know, they said sixty million bottles, sixty million bottles are sold every single year, and so you have to go, hmm, well, this is common many people you probably you know know someone who has used TOMS.
And my problem with TOMS is the quality and being in the natural world understanding how we can utilize formulations such as digestive HX as as well as our formulation known as men acid, which is a nature's variety of something like tombs, where we are using different botanicals to help to support and to enhance the way in which our foods digest and to ease any of that acid that is
creeping back up into the upper GI tract. So, when we look at our options as to what we can be taking, if we do experience the occasional indigestion or heartburn, then we should not be using things that have different chemicals in them. So when you break down what's actually contained in something like tombs, and you say, well, why are they putting artificial colors in that? You know, and I go on oftentimes about artificial colors and the
detrimental health effects that go along with artificial colors. They basically, in a sense, start to eat away the lining of the intestines. So if we have a GI issue and then we're taking something to treat the symptoms of that and it's actually exacerbating the condition and making proper absorption even worse because of the artificial colors, then that's a big problem. And so this is something that I kind of stumbled back into again this week, and I thought, you
know, we have these wonderful formulations. We have the mint acid, which has this wonderful botanical blend. We have the digestive HX. I really need to talk about these two products. And I have other things that I'm going to be discussing today as well, but I just wanted people to understand that
if you happen to have that tombs sitting in your medicine cabinet. I want you to really zero in on why it is that swapping that out for or the min acid formulation would be incredibly advisable just for your own GI health moving forward. So I do need to squeeze in a quick break, so stick around with me. You are listening to invite Health Radio and I will be right back. For twenty five years, Invite Health has been leading the way

Hopefully the earth is calm today, no earthquakes up there in New York. Toms back to this, and it's interesting. You know, many years ago I used to not name the brand, but I figure, well, you know, Toms, they're out there and they teut uh, you know how long they've been around, and they're the best selling ant acid on on the market. But I look
at it from a different angle. I look at it and I say, well, what's actually in this? What's in Toms? And when you say, well, why do they put cornstarch in it? And why is their blue number one? Why is their red number forty? Why is yellow number five? Yellow number six? Why are these in something that you were taking for your GI tract When we know, we clearly understand that all of those
artificial colors create havoc for our digestive track. So but yet people are continue to go out and eat the bad foods don't take their digestive enzymes, so that all your body's struggling to break things down, the acid starts to build up. And remember, acid reflux is generally brought on because not of excess acid, but actually the opposite. It's because of a low acid environment.
We don't have enough enzymes, we don't have enough hydrochloric acid pepsin within the stomach juices, the gastric juices, and because of that, we eat these different foods and the ultra processed foods with all these strange chemicals in it, and the body goes, what the world is this, and then that acid will start to go back up into the esophagus and that's that heartburn that people actually are experiencing. So this is kind of an auto fix, right.
We just try to avoid the ultra processed foods and all those weird, strange chemicals, and we do one thing that's incredibly proactive, which is we know as we get older, once we hit forty fifty years old, those natural digestive enzymes begin to diminish, so we start to take digestive HX, especially with our heaviest meal of the day. For individuals who already experience GI issues, then taking digestive HX prior to every meal would be the smartest choice.
But for someone who's you know, forty fifty years old, you feel like your digestive health is pretty good, then taking that digestive HX capsule prior to your heaviest meal of the day. So maybe that's your lunch, or perhaps
that's your dinner, maybe it's your breakfast, however you eat. So in any event, starting to take that is being proactive to combat the issues that can arise so that you don't turn into one of those statistics that thirty percent of Americans who are dealing with gurd So we can avoid this, we don't
have to become a statistic to this. And if we do have the occasional indigestion or heartburn, we eat something out of our normal pattern, or perhaps you just didn't take your digestive HX and then you eat something and you feel that that just kind of uneasy feeling after eating. We don't want to be turning to Tom's. We say to ourselves, do I really need right now after this meal? Do I really need blue number one? Do I need Red number forty in my system? Right now. Probably not why because I
know that these artificial colors are not good for my system. So in turn, what do we turn to? We turn to min acid and min acid is this wonderful blend of DGL and I talked about DGL a couple of weeks ago. That's the deglystronized licorice extract. Wonderful for the oral microbiome. It's very helpful. So as you're chewing on min acid, this is going to help with the microbial environment in the mouth and it actually helps to fight off
dental carries or what we know as the bacterias that can cause cavities. So we get the side benefit of using min acid for oral health. But we also have in this min acid we have slippery elm extract, and there's marshmallow root extract, not actual marshmallows, folks, We're not thinking about the white, fluffy sugar. We are talking about marshmallow root extract. And then there's
plantain extract. In this we have found that this combination of these wonderful, wonderful plant based nutrients do such a great job at creating this calming and soothing effect within the upper GI tract that when people start to use this, they will come back in and they will say, I don't know why I have been using TOMS for all of these years. I should have been using min
acid. And you start to recognize that when you were using things from nature such as slippery elm extract such as that DGL, that have been studied extensively and shown to be highly effective at targeting those issues such as indigestion and reflux, that it makes a lot of sense that you would want to make sure that you always have a bottle of mint acid in your medicine cabinet as opposed
to the thumbs. So the next time you experience, as I mentioned, heartburn, and hopefully you don't ever experience that, but if you do, then instead of turning to the blue number one and the red forty and the yellow five, the yellow six that the tombs is providing you, you say, you know, I think I'm going to use my mint acid. The University of Maryland they broke down all of the multiple benefits that go along with marshmallow extract and how it is that that marshmallow extract works in a sense,
as they call it, like a muselage. So it creates this coating along the upper digi, just a tract, and this is what can help to soothe and ease any of that inflammation that can occur within the upper gi. It's been used in the setting and studied in the setting of different respiratory conditions, including bronchitis and asthma. You know a lot of folks in different parts of the world use marshmallow extract if they have the common cold that includes having
a cough, because it's that effective. It's been around for that long, well before something like tombs came out, and we look at slippery elm in this same setting. We know that this has been an herbal remedy throughout North America for hundreds of years, and it helps, once again to coat and soothe the throat, the stomach, the intestines, and so if we can use a product such as man acid that contains these wonderful nutrients, then this
is what we should be turning to. And for me, when I was researching everything this week and saying, oh gosh, there's so many Americans that are dealing with acid reflux. You have so many folks who deal with irritable bowel. We need to do better with the foods that we are eating, eating whole foods, adherence to a Mediterranean diet, but goodness, we really need to stop using products that have cornstarch and talk and artificial colors. I
mean, why is there talk? I always say that why in the world is their talk? And Tom's I don't know, folks, I can't explain that one. All I know is that you will not find that ever in my home. You will only find min acid. And my diet's very very good. It wasn't in the past. I always talk about when I was in medical school. Goodness, gracious, I was a train wreck when it
came to the foods that I was eating. But now I have a very strong adherence to Mediterranean style way of eating, so I don't experience heartburn. But I will say from time to time, and it's as I've gotten older. If I go out to a restaurant, for example, you know, I'm going out with family and we go out to a restaurant, and I still try to order as healthy as I possibly can off of the menu.
There are times where you know, you just kind of feel like, eh, you know, maybe that that just isn't sitting quite well with me. So having min acid very helpful, and then thinking about just age related or age induced loss of enzymes, and we kind of go back to that pancreatic insufficiency. This is where that digestive HX comes into play, which contains betain hydrochloride. It has that wonderful blend of those pancreatic enzymes, so it has
the pepsin which helps to break down your proteins. So when we are using liepace to break down fats and amylase to break down the carbohydrates, and this is all contained in one single capsule of digestive HX, and digestion we know
begins not just within the stomach or in the intestines. This is a process that begins as soon as we smell food and we get that release of digestive enzymes in the mouth, so we have the salivary amylase, which is once again why that DGL that licorice extract that you find in man acid is so beneficial because it helps to optimize the oral health. So we have better release
of those salivary enzymes to help aid in the breakdown of the foods. And we know that as we get older, our production of those enzymes goes down in the International Journal of Pancreatology. That's a mouthful there, But the International Journal of Pancreatology all the way back in nineteen eighty eight, they actually looked at the level of pancreatic secretion as people begin to grow older in chronological age, and they could see the major shift between people who were in their mid
thirties comparing that to people who were in their mid sixties, and the significant reduction in those pancreatic enzymes was quite profound. So this is not something new. So when you hear someone say, oh, you know, my doctor says that I have pancreatic insufficiency, this is it's a newer diagnose, but it's not something that's new. This is something that has been occurring in the
human body since the beginning of time that things become less efficient. And so this is why including in digestive HX with that wonderful blend, having that bromolin, having the pain, those are wonderful proteolic enzymes that aid in the breakdown of proteins. They help ease inflammation throughout the GI tract. And once we start to do that, we are going to optimize the way in which our
nutrients are absorbing even within our intestines, and this is always key. I tell this to folks often who come in and say, you know, I've been using nexium or prilo sac. I use TOMS on a regular basis. And so we first talked about changing their foods. You know, well, let's look at you know, more of an adherence to foods that your body can process easier. But we also have to recognize that your intestinal absorption has
been compromised. So even if you're taking a multi vitamin, the core multivitamin, we want to make sure that we get the most out of that multivitamin. So the inclusion of digestive HX actually works as a facilitator to help the multi vitamin, your fish oil, your invite health, you biquenol with NADH.
It allows all of those to absorb much more efficiently because we are priming the GI tract so that we are kind of going back in time to when we were twenty years old, when our absorption rates are at their peak. So we know that we can achieve this. It's just setting the stage.
It's making sure we have all of the key players in place. So we have to look at the foods that we are eating, we have to look at how do we optimize the absorption of those foods, so through supplementing with digestive HX, and of course we want to make sure that we are also
taking other nutrients that will help aid in digestion. So when we look at probiotics, when we look at fish oil or krill oil, advanced nutrients that we know help to allow for a healthy microbiome and help to ease inflammation throughout not just the GI track, but the entire system. So that's enough on my talk on toums today. But in any event, stop by an Invite Health store, go to our website invite heealth dot com and get your min
acid min Acid. I cannot say enough about it, wonderful botanical blend, the slippery ELM, the DGL, and remember you get that side benefit with the DGL to help fight off cavities in your mouth. So that's a that's a plus. So I'm gonna switch focus on the flip side of this break stick around with me. You are listening to Invite Health radio and I will be right back. We have a lot to cover still
on today's show. It's reading a study that came out of Ohio State University and I found it quite interesting. There's always a lot of talk about, you know, pre op routines, and I get a lot of calls and a ton of emails on this topic. If someone's going in for any type of a surgery, oh, email me and say, you know, hey, Amanda, you know my my doctor said, or you know whoever they're working with at the hospital, that I have to stop all of my supplements,
you know, for a week before I go in for surgery. You know, is this the case? You know? Do I really have to stop taking my co Q ten? Do I really need to stop taking my
fish oil? So I get these questions on a regular basis, And the truth to it is that generally, for the most part, no, you really don't need to stop anything except for things that we know have a potential for, you know, more extensive blood thinning effects, so say natural vitamin E or token triantles you'd want to give yourself, you know, forty eight to seventy two hours prior to a surgery, of removing that out of your
supplementation routine. But as far as you know, taking your ZINCX, your vitamin DS, your you know, probiotics, you know, do you need to stop taking those before a surgery? No? So, but what we do know is that foods matter before a surgery. And I think that this is an area and I can reflect back to when I was in medical stipe and doing my surgical rotations and when we would have pre app consultations with patients, we never we never discussed foods leading into surgery, you know, what
they should be doing. The main thing was, you know, no, don't eat or drink anything for twelve hours you know, pre app. But that was pretty much the only instructions that were given out. So I can only you know, kind of assume that that's still probably the standard routine is, you know, don't eat or drink anything for twelve hours before you have
your surgery. But this study out of Ohio State is really interesting because they said that eating fatty food in the days leading up to surgery can heighten the inflammatory response in the brain that interferes for many weeks, they said with memory. And this has always been a concern is when you have an older individual
who's going in for surgery, is the postop anesthesia cognitive issues. So after you go under the knife, and ideally you never have to do that, but you know, if you have to go in and you have to have a surgery done and they put you under so you have that anesthesia, there's always that concern, especially as we get older that this can affect our memory
and how long can that last. It really can vary. But what was interesting about this study out of Ohio State was that they were looking at the foods specifically, and they were saying, you know, if you're eating fatty foods, so hence a standard American diet, you know you're stopping buy fast food the day before a surgery, this is going to lead to some issues.
Now, what was fascinating about this was they had this hypothesis that this would just be you know, more implicated in older individuals, but what they actually found was this was the same case in younger individuals who went in for surgery. So if their diet was really bad leading into surgery and then coming out postoperatively, they were starting to see the effects on cognition or memory and
brain function. And they said because of that neuro inflammation, that brain inflammation that was driven up because of those foods, and this led to this activation, this overstimulation of the immune system, which then in turn made it harder for them to recover postoperatively. And not just in the setting of memory,
but also when you think about wound healing. But at the end of the day they go through and it's a quite detailed study, but what their conclusion was was that, hmm, well, we know that omega three fatty acids these really helpful fats. Maybe we should be looking at these as a pre
op routine. And they said, with all of the evidence out there suggesting that these you know, powerful omega threes work to offset inflammation that occurs in the body, maybe what we should be telling patients is, you know, you need to be supplementing with omega three fatty acids. So whether you're taking fish oil or krill oil or flaxeed, you should be doing this leading into
your surgery, and of course avoiding those ultra processed foods. So I just thought it was interesting in the setting that I still get questions about this. I still get individuals who reach out to me and say, my doctor said I can't take my fish oil or I can't take anything prior to surgery.
And now it looks like there may be a shift in the you know, traditional medical world here where they're going, hmm, maybe we should talk to patients about not eating a horrible diet before their surgery to get better you know, surgical outcomes. And maybe we should include an Omega three to help lower inflammation in the body before they even go under the knife, which to me, I think is a wonderful thing. But when we do have folks who are going in for surgery, you know, by all means reach out to
us. You can shoot me an email A Williams at invitehealth dot com. I'm always happy to you know, kind of break down your routine. You know, this is what you currently take your surgery day is this you know, this is what you should do leading into your surgery. This is what you do post operatively. Now postop, we always want to include things that we know can promote healing quicker. So we look at zinc, vitamin C,
and vitamin D. Those are very important. So you can look at our immunity HX formulation as a really great go to because it's a kind nation
of all three of those. So you get the vitamin C, you get the zinc, you get the vitamin D. We have to have vitamin C and zinc in order for wounds to heal properly, and we know that many people kind of walk around in a state of insufficient levels of both of those and clearly vitamin D. But we know that vitamin C as well as zinc levels are usually you know, teetering on the edge of being way too low
in the average American. So if we want to encourage proper wound healing, we want to include after our surgery that immunity HX and it may be even advantageous to take additional vitamin C on top of what the immunity HX is providing you. And then we want to think about what else helps to encourage the healing process along, so we can look at a product like ATP. This is something that myself as well as Jerry Hickey for years have turned to,
especially if someone's going in for kind of a structural surgery. So you're going in for a knee replacement or a hip replacement, or you have to have you know, your rotator cuff surgery done is taking ATP. Remember what ATP is, that's a denisen triphosphate And if we supplement with ATP, we're giving our cells the direct the exact direct energy that they require in order for that
cell to function properly. So when you think about going in and having knee replacement or hip replacement or having to have surgery done, on your rotator cuff. We want to make sure that the body has the ability to properly energize within that area, within that targeted area. So adding in ATP one cap postoperatively very helpful, very beneficial. And you can still take your ubiquhenyl COQ ten with the NADH that that's still something that you're still going to take in
addition to taking the ATP. Now we also want to think about the anesthesia. How do we get rid of that anesthesia in an effective way because remember the concern always was if you're older and you go in for surgery, you can have that extended post anesthesia brain fog, and how do we get rid of that. How do we help the body clear that anesthesia, because remember that's a gas, so it's going into the system and it basically finds little
pockets in the body that it wants to hang out. So we don't want to have extensive tissue absorption. We don't want it going and lingering in our fat. We don't want that to occur because that means that the clearance of that anesthesia is going to be much more difficult. So part of the way in which we have to have adequate clearance is through the liver, so NAC
SO n acetyl cysteine is always going to be that go to postoperatively. So if you're working with an invite nutritionness, you're going in for surgery, you're trying to figure out your pre op routine, you're trying to figure out your post op routine, NAC is always going to be included in that postop recovery.
So, and even if you're going in just for like a minor procedure and maybe they don't have you fully under it's just kind of more of a light anesthesia, it still would be incredibly advantageous to add in an acetyl cysteine. We know the power of NAC. Remember, NAC is a slightly modified version of the amino acid cysteine, and we know that cysteine is very important for many functions in the body. So when we take an ACT, most
folks think about the way in which it helps to enhance glutathione production. So that's the key antioxidant within the liver. So the more glutathione we have, the better off we are for liver functionality and for detoxification. But taking glutathione on its own has its own problems, its own downsides. Glutathione alone is very prone to breaking down just through the digestive process. So this is why the preferred way to build up your glutathione unless you're doing like an IV glutathione
is to take an AC so an acetylsystem. We know that overdoses on acetamenafin. The primary way that they treat people if they present to an immerent urgency room because they took too many acetomenafin and they're going into acute liver failure is to give them IV NAC, So we know that NAC when we're supplementing with this in a capsule form, this is going to help to enhance the way in which our liver can build up additional glued tothione and help with the detoxification
and the removal of things such as toxins as well as anesthesia postoperatively. On top of all the other things that we know NAC does for us, it works in a sense as an anti viral and antibacterial. We can look at the clinical research trials on that targeted towards H Pylori infections, which is the main cause for stomach ulcers as well as for gastric cancers. So if we are supplementing with NAC, we are yielding this higher LEFE level of protection.
And then of course when we look at different viruses influenza virus. Clearly NIC has been studied now quite extensively in the setting of coronaviruses. But we know that NAC is a powerhouse of a amino acid that provides all of these multiple benefits when it comes to our health, including cardiovascular support. So I'll talk about that on the flip side of this break. You are listening to Invite Health Radio and I will be right back. It is cold and flu season

Radio. I am doctor Amanda Williams talking about NAC. Why that's so beneficial postoperatively to help with the clearing of the anesthesia. How much should you be taking at least two capsules a day, which would be twelve hundred milligrams, but ideally postoperatively want to be taking probably three, so eighteen hundred milligrams. And with NAC you always want to take that with food. I had mentioned
the benefits of NAC when it comes to cardiovascular health. I always default back to the European Society of Cardiology and the researchers they're looking at the It was a massive study the benefits of NAC after an acute heart attack. So obviously these are people who survived a heart attack, but they found that when they gave them an acetyl cysteine after they had am I that it actually allowed for the damaged heart muscle to repair itself, which is really just an amazing thing.
So when you're thinking about ncetyl cysteine, maybe you have seasonal allergies, maybe you have you know, post nasal drip. I mean, there's a variety of different ways that NAC can help to support your health. I turned to this particular product in our line for a variety of different reasons for folks. For those who do have seasonal allergies, I oftentimes will add in that NAC. It really helps to thin out that mucus uh that people can experience
with seasonal allergies or if they have you know, something like COPD. Clearly NAC is prescribed even by pulmonologists in the setting of pulmonary fibrosis as well as COPD. So NAC has so many different uses. It's an excellent add on to to any daily supplementation routine. Now, also thinking in the setting of you know, how do we clear just toxins and things out of our system, Well, we can look at NAC as one way, but we can
also look at ind all three carbonyl. So our formulation contains not just the end all three carbonyl, but also DIM and these are derived from cruciferous vegetables. So it's a very natural way to help the body once again with proper detoxification, and it's been studied extensively. Ind all three carbonyl as well as them. These are two different chemical constituents that are derived from those cruciferous vegetables.
And you may say, what in the world is a cruciferous vegetable, Well, we're thinking about things like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, all of those, you know, common things that most people probably have come across
on your plate from time to time, hopefully more frequently than not. You know, the inclusion of the cruciferous vegetables is very beneficial when it comes to not just GI health because of we look at the fiber and the but rate that can come from that and it can really help with the microbial environment with the intestines, but so beneficial when we think about detoxification and the way in which end all three carbonyl and DIM have been studied, probably the greatest amount
is in hormonal issues. So we know that as hormones break down in the human body. So whether we're looking at the breakdown of estrogen or testosterone, we know that there's a pass that occurs through the liver, and the liver helps to facilitate that breakdown. Once again, there's a variety of reasons as to why this clearance can be affected, and if we have a fatty liver, for example, but we have to make sure that the body can remove
those hormone metabolites. Hormones in and of themselves are not our enemy by any means, but it's the metabolites. It's the breakdown products of those hormones. And so INDOL three, carbonyl and DEM have been studied extensively in that direct setting for things like breast cancer, prostate cancer. Working with anyone who has
concerns about breast health or prostate health. Adding in ind all three carbonyl with DIM, even if it's one capsule a day, it gives you that peace of mind that it's allowing the liver to do better at helping with the breakdown
and the removal of those harmful metabolites. And that's key. And we can see how these have been studied at string cancer Prevention Center there in New York looking at women who have breast cancer and giving them end all three carbonyl in addition to whatever their current treatment regimen was to allow for better breakdown and removal once again. And how do they test this, Well, they can look
at urine metabolites. They can see how good that indul three carbonyl and that DIM does at helping the body with the clearance of that that's a particular product in our line that sometimes it doesn't get enough highlighting of, but it really is. It's such a great natural food based sourced you know, you think about those cruciferous vegetables and we think about getting this powerful amount of both the ind all three carbonyl and DIM, and it really is just a wonderful thing.
So for anyone who has a past history of breast cancer or a past history of prostate cancer, I would certainly advise that ind all three carbonyl and DIM be part of your supplementation routine moving forward, for sure, because we want to make sure that we have healthy cell division that is occurring in the body and healthy cell division that oftentimes can be disrupted because of those hormone metabolites in particular, really looking at the breakdown of estrogen, and this happens in
men and women. The way that the estrogen breaks down can be detrimental, So keep that product in mind when you're thinking about liver health. And of course we have our you know, daily detox formulation, we have the detox powder, so many different nutrients that we offer when it comes to healthy cellular
detoxification and antioxidants they're just key to this. The higher antioxidant amount that you take each day, the better off your body can do with fighting off all of those different free radicals, whether it's free radicals that come from the environment or if it's free radicals that are building up just inside of our body. So we can look at formulations like red z HX for example, just loaded down with that, you know, forty fruit and vegetable extract plus the probiotic
that's an excellent choice. Of course, using the daily detox powder, you're getting a power punch of antioxi in that as well. One other thing that I do want to to just mention, because as we are into a little bit of warmer weather now into the spring, is to not forget that exercises, key folks and maybe you're a little reluctant to get out there because you're like, well, you know, I just don't have energy, or my knees bother me, whatever be the case. We have so many formulations that
can help with the energy production. Taking products like active HX, which has the HMB which is hydroxy methyl butyrate, really is a wonderful way to encourage healthy you know, muscle support gives your muscles that energy. Maybe you go when you take a walk around the block and you feel a little bit winded, taking active HX before that walk can be so helpful. So think about
that as we know enter further into spring here. As well as all of our collagen formulations, we have the collagen HX, which is partnered up with the Boswalia extract. Remember that Boswalia helps to ease inflammation. We also have the collage x HA, which is very comprehensive because it includes hyaluronic acid. There's glucosamine in that. We know that glucosamine has been looked at as an
anti inflammatory pain reliever. The studies on glucosemine are so impressive at this point in time, and so if you really want to have this comprehensive, complete way to support your joints. The collagex HA is a really good way to do this because you're getting the hydrolyzed collagen, you're getting powerful antioxidants coming from tumeric and GrapeSEED extract. You're also getting that hyaluronic acid along with the glucosemine.
So very easy for you to take either one of those formulations, whether it be the collagen HX or the college x HA one scoop a day. You can add that into a warm liquid if you'd like, such as coffee in the morning. The college XHA really blends lovely into your morning coffee, just FYI, So check that product out.
