In 1984, Charlie Howard, a young gay man from Bangor, Maine, was walking home when he was harassed by three young men with homophobic slurs. The situation escalated, and Howard was thrown off a bridge into the Kenduskeag Stream, where he drowned. Hear his story and how his death helped to bring attention to hate crimes and discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.
