I'm your host master intuitive business coach and energy therapy practitioner Cathleen Miller, and today's episode number 45. We are wrapping up June which is intuitive cleansing month I've had a fabulous month doing really several different cleanses I did a juice cleanse, I did a really deep kind of herbal detox I spent a couple days in the woods off grid I've now I'm in the this week, I am doing mental kind of very mental body which I've done really deep you know, old tax files and personal files and I've gone through closets and, and all these little things that we just accumulate in our lives that can create massive mental clutter over time. So just like we need to detoxify the body and really be you know, from time to time doing maintenance, you know, it's like your car, you do maintenance on checking the belts, checking the engine. And so we need to do this with our bodies, but we also it can really, really benefit us in doing this in different parts of our lives. So for you know, I know I've spoke a couple times in different episodes around different styles of cleansing, but you know, between the emotional work, being able to have body work that you're getting physical support in your in your cleanse, but also in you know, this week doing mental mental detox, and especially after what we've gone through in the past, you know, year and a half, to be able to be you know, decluttering, reevaluating, upgrading, this is part of what really helps that to be cleaner and easier, and more supported. So today, I want to play with intuitive eating and my detox tips to help you know really bring in some clarity around you know what that is for you. Some of you listening maybe already doing this really well and you're just listening for extra tips. And other you this might be a relatively new topic of, you know, what does it really mean to be intuitive eating? What is a mental detox? How can I be, you know, what are what are practical ways I can be adding this into support more your mental health and your, you know, feeling more balanced and, and well in your life. So, so definitely, you know, number one, and this is really the the kind of Crux and the core of my work is body mind connection, and helping people that you know, may not have as strong of that, that mental to emotional to physical connection, that gives you the body dialog that allows you to be aware of what your system is needing what maybe was working a while ago that isn't working anymore. And you know, and when it's time to detox even you know, for me, I don't decide Oh, I'm gonna do this trendy detox I wait for my system to start showing me Hey, it's time to you know, sometimes do a mile just a little tweaks here and there cleanse or, you know, kind of up my intermittent fasting game or other times it's Hey, you know, we it's really useful to add in, you know, a really strong herbal cleanse or, you know, I went into the juice cleanse for several days. So those are, those are, you know, very internally guided very intuitively guided, that it's appropriate for me, now's the right timing, it's the right season to be doing it, it's the right, you know, it, like everything around me is supporting that. And so, of course, for you listening, this is something that again, you want to always be sure that you know, with your medical considerations, you know, what's going on in your health and wellness that of course, there's so much out there that you want to make sure it's appropriate for you. But you know, beginning to work on that intuitive eating with, you know, watching something as simple as your portions and what time you're eating and, and, and that's a big thing. Even with intermittent fasting. It's okay, you don't eat for this long. And yet, is that really resonating for your body is there you know, not just, oh, I'm bored I want to eat but is there a resonance of Yes, this is really in harmony, even though there might be moments of a desire to eat or you know that you're out of your comfort zone with an intermittent fast. cycle, that you're very clear that that discomfort is really useful and helping you to get to, you know, the blood, blood sugar or whatever, you know, inspired action that has gotten you into doing that. So this is something that, again, I'm constantly on that pulse of really fine tuning what my body's asking for what is, and this goes into also, you know, mentally like your workload, your, you know, balancing everything from our families, to our home maintenance, to just everything our life demands of us. And, and being able to, you know, be clear on that nutritionally, but also with, you know, just having that support or that downtime, that all of those are really working together, for, you know, your over your overall balance, that's definitely what my like long term target is, is where, where is longevity of well being that's, that's what I want to go for. And and so what does that mean today, because what that means in nutrition, and and socially and, and sort of workload this week might be different next week might be different next month. So that takes me to point number two, which is really staying fluent with energy and your life. And really getting clear, because there's so much, you know, different theories of Oh, this diet, or keto or Mediterranean diet, or Atkins, or whatever, you know, there's so many different systems out there. And once you decide this is the right way, this is the plan, which may for an interval or a season or a year, be really optimal for your body until it's not. So how many times have you started one, you know, one plan or one system of eating, and then within a few weeks or months, all of a sudden, it's not only is it not working, but it's kind of counterproductive, and it's actually in the way or it's causing problems. And, you know, for me back a wild, I became a raw foodist. And for months, it was great, I felt so alive, I really was very clear. And then suddenly, I started noticing a lot of, you know, imbalances, and my system began to not do so well with it. So when I took a step back, and I realized, okay, for whatever reason, I'm meeting, my bae system is reaching out for different frequencies. And then I began to honor that and listen to that, instead of being so rigid on, you know, one system again, that's when I began to get immediate relief, I began to really, you know, my vitality began to increase. And not to say that that was wrong in any way, because I think there's intervals of that which are fantastic. And, you know, I definitely am more of a flexitarian of listening to the body and, and being able to definitely gravitate towards wild, organic, healthy, holistic, kind of, you know, whole food plan. And yet, what well, how much of that? Where is that it you know, what, what levels of, of choices within that are appropriate for you, that's a very personal question. And that's where you're developing your body mind connection will help you to be on the pulse of your kind of flow of needs and desires. And you know, that your energy's really in an optimal state, for everything you're aspiring to do. So that's definitely number two is, you know, really staying fluent with with that energy. And then three, is, you know, really prioritizing that clear mind. Never before have had more noise and contrast and, you know, really dramatic accelerated of
I don't know how to put it nicely wild energies there. And so being able to really know for you which again, what is mental balance for one person may not may be total chaos for the deck. So this is everything you are consuming mentally, the social media, you online, how you are in the world, what you're doing in your community, what you're doing in your home, your family, all of those environments and all of those stimulus, and really being able to get clear of how much of that is contributing to your balance and supporting you and where you may need intervals of more some more, more quiet, more solitude more back It's different environments, different people. This is a big one guys really mentally detoxing, and being able to for me, I did several days. You know, as I said, I was I was off grid, I went out and was in nature. And it really is interesting, because I caught myself kind of wanting to go to the phone, and you see those where you are wired in, you can feel the withdrawal a little bit, I admit, I'm being constantly checking and keeping up with things and you know, I do my best to be like, you know, immediate in response to people. And so even with the vacation reminder, hey, I'm off, I'm out of office, I'm off grid, I can't, I don't even have Wi Fi, like I can't answer, which was great for me, helps me to, you know, not given to that. But it also really helped me to, you know, really have that space to just settle and that's not the easiest thing to do, I am a high functioning gogogo you know, really focused entrepreneur, and, you know, for and when you're a mom and you have, you know, pads and a lot that kind of moves quickly and has really high demands, when you all of a sudden have this open space to sit quietly, it can be really almost more of a challenge in a way because you're just accustomed to really high flow of movement and activity. And, and really going in a different rhythm. So allowing that space like clarifying what that means for you, which I mean, I already meditate every day, but having more times or a nice like, couple hours or half day or a few days to just get into quiet, to not be obligated to a lot of appointments or your regular kind of rhythm of schedule. And really taking time to allow that mind to decompress to unwind is something that I am really surprised. And I know, it's it's challenging, when we are plugged in, you can be checking emails on the toilet, you can be and I know you've all done it. So don't roll your eyes.
But that we can, you know, just keep going we can keep we can stay plugged in, and being able to really honor that, hey, I want to create more space to allow my mind to come into balance. So if I ever find especially being, you know, working as a professional medium, you know, I'm, I'm already highly sensitized and fine tuned as it is. But I noticed from time to time, if I ever start getting sort of these aggressive fast waves, or, you know, this zero to 60, overwhelm, it's like, okay, that's the heads up that prioritizing a way bigger block of a very low gear is necessary. And so this is something that you don't have to go away, this can just be clearing your schedule, or getting out of the house for a while or getting help with the kids. So that you are honoring that, you know, your body's request or, or knowing that you're just off course, to come back in. And I know that's not the easiest for a lot of you know, especially as moms and as you know, we want to be these empowered women that are leading and showing what we can but to be able to honor Hey, I need a break and i or i need help I need support in this. So knowing that that is self love, that is self care that is asking the universe to support you in that balance. And it will it will when you begin to clarify that that's needed. And then asking, again, what you need. What for you, is it a day at the spa? Is it as simple as that? Is it a longer massage, it might be very quickly that you can snap in it might be you know some time with friends, which that can go either way. Sometimes being around people can irritate you more. And then other times it's like exactly a breath of fresh air, go into different conversations, learn about others and so only you can know if that's really beneficial or if that's something that might, you know, aggravate or imbalance you more so, honoring that asking to increase the mental supports whatever that is for you gain time doing a game time, you know, quietly doing something nonsensical for me. I just organizing stuff in the house for whatever reason just completely relaxes my mind. When I give myself something to do, and I pull everything off shelves I'm organizing, I just get completely calm. It's so good for my nervous system. So I guess I should be kind of an organizer or something like that on the side, because I really, really love it. So those are really the top tips to begin really, you know, doing whatever that next step of body mind development is for you can really, really help you to be achieving that ongoing balance or that longevity of balance, if that's one of your targets for for wellness.
