How do you connect with your creative Muse? Ā Greek poets would "invoke the muse" to open the door to creative ideas and thoughts. Ā The word Muse comes from the GreekĀ mousai,Ā and refers to the goddesses of creativity and the "arts". Ā I choose to believe that those goddesses live within me. Ā When I need a dose of inspiration I turn my creative expression over to the goddesses that live within.
The reason that I like to do that is because it makes a clear division between me and my creative expression. Ā I become a partner in a curious adventure. Ā I am not "in charge" of the outcome so my critic has nothing to say. Ā My function is to carry out the wishes of the Muses and I do so to the best of my ability.
AFFIRMATION: I Am Inspired to practice creativity in all of my experiences.
Who or what is your creative muse? Ā Here are one or two ideas for enticing "them" to stay. Ā Make a place for "her"-an alter, some flowers, some nice music and a candle? Ā Freewriting (stream of consciousness). Ā Take your muse on a date to a place that you know "he'll" love.

Write a poem calling on your Muse.
Then let your Muse do the creating today and create a self-portrait on your journal page.
