Jaden on why #BlackTransLivesMatter

On this episode I speak with the wonderfully charismatic Jaden about their transition during the Covid-19 pandemic. Transitioning during the pandemic and the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement has been both challenging and powerful for Jaden. The amount of activism springing from the Black community has created an atmosphere of empowerment to embrace the body as a site of political activism against oppression. We discuss the complex interaction between the sex positive communities and Queer Black Trans bodies, with a focus on the infamous dynamics of race play. Finally, Jaden discusses their recent top surgery and what it’s like undergoing hormone replacement therapy to provide insight for other humans in transition or considering transitioning.
