A little known fact about Phish in the mid-to-late ‘90s is that they weren’t just incredible musicians they were also award-winning knitters.

Rumor had it that the band was attempting to set the record for the Longest French Lace Cloth. While touring Europe, they took turns knitting sections of the "Wrap," which they hoped would cover Fishman during the 1997 NYE gag.

The technique they used was called Pass Slip Stitch Over (PSSO). Ultimately, they didn’t break the record, and the ‘97 gag was changed. However, they had so much fun trying that they voted 3-1 to name their new live release Slip, Stitch, Pass.
