Sierra Avalanche Center and Palisades Tahoe
A nonprofit-government partnership providing critical avalanche forecasts in the Sierra Nevada backcountry is at-risk of losing one of its forecasters. The
Sierra Avalanche Center says the layoff would put lives at risk, cutting its daily forecasts down to just four per week. Executive Director David Reichel joins Insight to talk about the impact of these avalanche predictions, and what people can do amid the ongoing uncertainty. We’ll also get an update on snow conditions at a Lake Tahoe ski resort. Patrick Lacey is the Public Relations Manager at
Palisades Tahoe in Olympic Valley.
Anh Phoong
It’s a billboard that’s hard to miss. And once you see it, difficult to forget. Something Wrong? Call Anh Phoong. Displayed across California,
Anh Phoong has found a place among other famed personal injury attorneys who have harnessed the power of advertisements. But her notoriety may very well lead the pack, with a reach beyond lawsuits and courtrooms. She joins Insight to share her backstory in Sacramento, as well as address a recent
billboard design competition that received some backlash.
Irishpalooza
For more than a decade, Irish-American musicians and dancers in Sacramento have teamed up for a special event celebrating all things Celtic.
Irishpalooza takes place this weekend at Harlow’s in midtown Sacramento and will feature performances from the McKeever School of Dance and a couple of local bands, including
Whiskey and Stitches and
Stout Rebellion.
James Wilson is the organizer of the annual Irish celebration and he stopped by the studio with Bobby Waller, the lead singer of Stout Rebellion, and Whiskey and Stitches’ Mike McCarrick.
