Episode description

Tyler McGill is the Head Coach of the City of Opelika Swim Team. He most recently was an Assistant Coach at Auburn University, his alma mater from 2013 to 2018. He swam for Team USA at the 2012 London Olympics placing 6th in the 100 Fly and winning gold as part of the 4x100 Medley Relay.

"Which coach at Auburn didn't I swim for?" - Tyler McGill

Brett and Tyler really dig into his time at Auburn. Going from a nobody to a somebody. What he focused on as a Freshman and how he developed into a true leader.

Tyler swam for or was recruited by Dave Durden. David Marsh. Brian Burns. Richard Quick. and Brett Hawke, just to name a few.

What did you learn from Richard Quick? Two stories/lessons he learned.

Talk to me about the suits.

Talk to me about your own triumphs. Winning Bronze at 2011 Shanghai World Championships in the 100 Fly. Beating out Ryan Lochte to join Michael Phelps in the 100 Fly at the 2012 Olympics.

What kind of relationship do you have with your gold medal?

And much more!
