Hyperrealism enhances reality by creating illusions. American sculptor and author Carole A. Feuerman, is among the early artists who are credited with starting the hyperrealism movement, specifically sculpture, in the 1970s. Best known for her figurative works of swimmers and dancers, Carole is the only woman known to sculpt in this style of life size realistically painted outdoor sculptures.
