Mastermind: Sir Ian McGeechan

As the 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa builds to a tense finale, I reflect on some key insights from a conversation I had with Sir Ian McGeechan, the former Scotland and Lions player and coach. The Lions are a great metaphor for any organisation where former rivals now need to work together in a cohesive team. Their values, leadership and culture are an inspiration to us all. 

Having toured with the British & Irish Lions in both 1974 and 1977, and being the British & Irish Lions head coach in 1989, 1993, 1997 and 2009 – Sir Ian McGeechan is one of the world’s most respected coaches.
