Episode description

In this episode, I interviewed an incredible lady, Joan Jerome-Conne who is a true pioneer, a trailblazing woman, who helped set the foundation for healthcare today. She considers herself a change agent and boy is she! She has been a coach, a teacher, an entrepreneur, a nurse and so much more.

She was instrumental in the 60’s to usher in the lamaze method of childbirth, not only helping birthing parents, but educating doctors and medical staff as well.  She is a true inspiration and she continues to be an agent of change everywhere she goes.

Dr. Fernand Lamaze introduced a method of childbirth in France by incorporating techniques he observed in Russia. Consisting of childbirth education classes, relaxation, breathing techniques and emotional support became known as “the Lamazemethod.”
