Defensive coordinator Robb Smith and linebacker Olakunle Fatukasi met with the media. The Scarlet Knights' defense gained 19 turnovers last year, most in a season for the team since 2012, and led the Big Ten with 7.8 tackles-for-loss per game. Fatukasi earned First Team All-Big Ten and was a Butkus Award semifinalist after leading the league with an average of 11.2 tackles per game to rank ninth nationally, first in the conference and most by a Scarlet Knight since 1999.
