Ligia Guallpa is the Executive Director of the Workers Justice Project. WJP aims to empower low-wage immigrant workers and build sustainable solutions for them as they contribute to our city. Earlier this year, the organization launched a movement to combat wage theft against undocumented workers. Six local construction companies in the city are being accused of stealing over $114,000 from their employees, many of whom rely on these incomes to support families here or in their home countries.
