Episode description

We go to CUNY, the City University of New York. For the past months it’s been a flashpoint in the battle over campus free speech during a time of war. At Hunter College on the Upper East Side, the campus has been roiled by the administration’s flip-flopping on whether they will allow a film that’s critical of Israel to be shown. And at Baruch College in Lower Manhattan, top officials there canceled a teach-in on Gaza by members of that school’s history department. We are joined by Tami Gold, Professor of Film and Media Studies at Hunter College, Johanna Fernandez, Professor of History at Baruch College and author of The Young Lords: A Radical History and Safa Khan, a student at Baruch College.
