Episode description

On this week's episode of The Throw-In, Will Slattery is joined by Donnchadh Boyle, Michael Verney, Dick Clerkin and Jamesie O'Connor to discuss all the weekend's action.

It is hurling first up, with the state of Tipperary the big talking point after their defeat to Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds. Tipp boss Michael Ryan has decided to enact a media ban, but questions remain over his team selection and tactics as the Premier County prepare to face Cork next weekend.

For Limerick, Jamesie O'Connor thinks they are in the perfect position as they prepare for a rest week in Munster.

O'Connor isn't as hopeful about his own county Clare, who were beaten by Cork, but the Rebels looked close to their scintillating 2017 form at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

In Leinster, Dublin's latest heartbreaking defeat is also discussed, as is Kilkenny's second victory in the round robin format.

In football, Monaghan pulled off the result of the weekend with a big win over Tyrone. Former Farney midfielder Dick Clerkin thinks his county can realistically win an All-Ireland - but that they need to find another level in order to do so.

There were also wins for Fermanagh, Tipperary and Clare, while the panel discuss the fiery comments from Limerick boss Billy Lee directed towards his own county board.
