Julia Carmen 0:03
Un Welcome back to the indigenous wisdom podcast, Mira. This is Julia Carmen curentera de las curenteras. Oh Mira, and hopefully your guide to a nourishing and connecting with your alma, soul, self of being right,
Julia Carmen 0:24
I really want to thank all you folks for listening in. There are so many friggin podcasts out there, like, tons and tons and tons and tons of them, like, I just mind boggling. And today, maybe not any other time, but today, you are other times two, right? Yeah, you chose us. You chose the School Without Walls. You chose the indigenous wisdom podcast and
Julia Carmen 0:48
yeah, thank you. Gracias. Today, we are continuing our monthly series based on my book The indigenous soul, okay, or you could say the indigenous Alma
Julia Carmen 1:02
each month we look at one of the chapters, its key teachings and its dragonfly guide, that cool.
Julia Carmen 1:16
This month we are looking at chapter six and our wisdom guide is Jade dragonfly, and
Julia Carmen 1:28
this jade dragonfly, I love that dragonfly, so
Julia Carmen 1:34
be sure to check out the show notes At our website, the schoolwithoutwalls.net
Julia Carmen 1:41
where we'll have links to research, to the research, to support your soul, your Alma, and build on what you've heard today. And yeah, Jade dragonfly, check out what she has to say.
Julia Carmen 1:57
Way cool, huh?
Julia Carmen 1:59
See. So listen in
Julia Carmen 2:03
Jade dragonfly, health is yours today. Let the healing begin.
Julia Carmen 2:11
You have been on the road of wealth, and in order to have it all, you must be the health of you in all ways. Do you understand healing from the inside out? Is it
Julia Carmen 2:30
start today to walk the path of health,
Julia Carmen 2:33
picking this dragonfly card means to focus on this for as long as you need to feel the health within and without.
Julia Carmen 2:45
Take your time to heal. Think of the deep color of jade. Wear Jade. Be
Julia Carmen 2:54
the Jade.
Julia Carmen 2:56
Now, if you have the deck of cards, you'll see,
Julia Carmen 3:00
or yeah, you have the deck so you have access to the dragonfly circle of being, and you'll actually see the wing
Julia Carmen 3:09
and the deck,
Julia Carmen 3:11
the card has
Julia Carmen 3:15
silver moving through it. Silver is a beautiful
Julia Carmen 3:22
I guess you would call
Julia Carmen 3:25
Hey Wei silver is a great
Julia Carmen 3:30
properties are the reason I'm human and Han here, like I do often, is that
Julia Carmen 3:37
as soon as I say a word, us humans will go, oh, that's what that means. So I do my best not to use the word protection, because that presupposes something's going to come get us right. So Silver's a great,
Julia Carmen 3:52
you know, like, you know, an insurance to keep those that, which is we don't need in our sphere of being right. So that's why we added silver to this card. Yeah,
Julia Carmen 4:05
so that's what chapter six, it leads with that, which is
Julia Carmen 4:12
Jade dragonfly. So what does it mean to be healthy? Health is subjective, I really think, for certain folks. So if you can just personalize this in a way that you see you and what it is that you need in this moment in time and space as you're listening to this and as we move on
Julia Carmen 4:32
and in this chapter, we talk about how important it is to be
Julia Carmen 4:37
healthy in all that we be. And when we think of health, we think of physical health, right? But we could also be talking about mental health and emotional health and financial well being, all of that can be categorized in health. So what does healthy mean? And I'm going to add the next question here is, what does it mean to heal?
Julia Carmen 5:00
Uh huh, again, subjective
Julia Carmen 5:04
to self, yeah,
Julia Carmen 5:07
with so much out there, yeah, like I mentioned at the beginning, there's so many podcasts, and I have the tendency to repeat myself. Those of you that know who I be, yeah, know that I repeat myself. So
Julia Carmen 5:21
there's so much out there, hermanos y hermanitas, hermanitas y hermanos. There's so much out there that it can be so mind boggling. I don't know if about you, about you folks, when I do any kind of, like looking into like any kind of social media, just kind of, for a minute, I do
Julia Carmen 5:42
at this moment, I time myself, so I'm not on there longer than an hour, just to kind of see
Julia Carmen 5:50
what folks are up to. But even in that short period of time,
Julia Carmen 5:55
I'm noticing that my human self of health,
Julia Carmen 6:02
I get influenced. My brain becomes influenced about what it is and so on. At my beautiful age, seven decades being here on this planet, I still get, you know, like, oh, incident. Oh, isn't that interesting I found with the algorithms and stuff. Yeah.
Julia Carmen 6:19
So what is health? That's what I want to go back to, obviously. What does it mean to heal? So if you could look at the three things that we always look at, health and well being, which is our what I just mentioned,
Julia Carmen 6:34
relationships, health, health and well being of our relationships and the health and well being of our financial well being, right? So if you could look at those and recognize, how is that, I'm going to ask you folks a question. You guys, just sit with it right and think about it and contemplating and recognize the fact that, well, how long does it I need to be healthy and and, you know, whatever's right,
Julia Carmen 7:01
personalize this and then see within self right now, in your in your beautiful human body, where it is that you are needing
Julia Carmen 7:12
what I call chi, chi, Soul time, yeah. Where are you needing that?
Julia Carmen 7:18
What does it mean to be in the health of you, and always and again, those are the three main ones
Julia Carmen 7:28
that I just mentioned.
Julia Carmen 7:32
How can we heal from the inside out? I'm
Julia Carmen 7:37
going to go back there. She.
Julia Carmen 7:46
Not but
Julia Carmen 7:49
in that stillness and softness of you and then listening, yeah,
Julia Carmen 7:56
a real good tool that my peeps shared with me many, many moons ago, and it's made a lot of transformations. And it's that soul listening. And you can find that
Julia Carmen 8:08
link in the show notes, is just so listening. And that is that, is that which our human self listens to, our soul self of being, yeah.
Julia Carmen 8:21
And in the information that we get back,
Julia Carmen 8:26
that's how we heal. I know it feels like I'm kind of floating around and not giving you the answers, but I am. We are we are giving you answers to that which is within. We are all constantly looking for the matter of everything, the matter of this and the matter of that, yeah,
Julia Carmen 8:50
and that's a human condition matter, right?
Julia Carmen 8:57
Jade dragonfly says to focus on walking the path of health, as long as you need to heal, feel health and well, being within and without the deep color of jade.
Julia Carmen 9:18
Sometimes it's difficult for myself to talk about this health and well being and how we we do this. I do always go back to listening to self in ways that we have not listened to self and go deeper. And when I listen to myself, sometimes in the human realm, it just sounds like I'm going around in circles. And I've heard people say, Well, I don't understand what you're saying,
Julia Carmen 9:43
because I really did think this chapter six is probably the most challenging one for all humans.
Julia Carmen 9:52
I was visiting with one of my granddaughters, and she's 20 something. She's under 25 mm.
Julia Carmen 10:00
Pretty sure, yeah, and
Julia Carmen 10:04
a long time ago, I'd say, good. It was probably 10 years ago, excuse me, at least. And she was a little girl, and they were living in Hawaii, and I was there, and I was,
Julia Carmen 10:20
you know, not really paying attention.
Julia Carmen 10:23
I wasn't in the stillness of being, yeah,
Julia Carmen 10:26
and we were getting ready to to leave Kona get on the plane, and I went down to
Julia Carmen 10:33
look at the ocean. And
Julia Carmen 10:36
I was actually, it was so beautiful. I was looking at the,
Julia Carmen 10:43
you know, the ocean and then the sky, and it
Julia Carmen 10:47
was, is close to some tide pools, and I'm just like, so in awe
Julia Carmen 10:55
of this beautiful, oh my gosh, it was gorgeous. You guys think of the most beautiful
Julia Carmen 11:01
water you've ever seen ocean, preferably, you know, blue and green and yeah, and then you could see right through right and so I'm looking up at the horizon and
Julia Carmen 11:12
not paying attention to my footing, and I slipped
Julia Carmen 11:17
and on the Big Island, most of the shore, not all of it, but most of the shore, when you get out, is lava, you know, not low lava, but lava, yeah, so it is the kind usually is nice and smooth, right? So if you got, if you have, if it has
Julia Carmen 11:36
any sea moss on it, it's slicker than snot. So I slipped and hit my left wrist
Julia Carmen 11:47
on a Yeah,
Julia Carmen 11:50
and I just saw it swell up. So long story short or short story long, I broke it in three places,
Julia Carmen 11:59
left hand, so I got my vehicle and got back to my daughter, which wasn't far, and I'm sitting there, and my daughter's going, oh my gosh, your plane leaves in like few hours, and you gotta have that looked at. And I'm like, Yeah, I do. And myself as a human, I really, you know however you want to look at it, I have the tendency to not really,
Julia Carmen 12:23
I don't know if you want to say, you know, go into the pain. I'd if I could, I could be in excruciating pain, and I would just get super quiet. Maybe some of you folks are like that. Yeah. So here comes this six, seven year old, if that much. And she's cute, little, cute as a button, right? Think of any of you the grandmas, and just like, oh my gosh, she's so cute, right? She looks at me, and she goes, Gigi,
Julia Carmen 12:50
when I'm in pain, I could see her domestic it's kind of like I could say you're in pain. And she goes, Why don't you just scream? And I went, what? She goes, when I'm in pain, I scream. I scream very loud.
Julia Carmen 13:04
I just let everybody know I'm in pain because I don't want to be in pain. Now, she didn't talk that way, but basically she said she'll scream, Grammy scream. And
Julia Carmen 13:15
I just looked at her, and I could stop laughing right now. I go, okay, baby. And so for a long time there, I would always say, I got to do, I got to do her, you know, her thing, and I got to do that granddaughter's
Julia Carmen 13:27
thing, scream, scream.
Julia Carmen 13:30
And fast forward,
Julia Carmen 13:32
you know, talking story with her the other day, and we were talking about pain because she had a something, on her foot, and that got taken care of. And she goes, I have a low tolerance for pain, is what she said. And I said, No, I don't think so. And then I shared the story I just shared with you. I said, I don't think so. I think we use that low tolerance, high tolerance. I used to always think I had high tolerance for pain, and I just shared with her, mirala,
Julia Carmen 14:01
I think you have a healthy tolerance for pain. As soon as you feel the pain,
Julia Carmen 14:07
you say, Okay, what's up? I know her. I know that's what she does. She listens to her peeps and her peeps say, hey, you need this needs attention and see how you know, get your crew together, get whomever it is that's going to be part of your healing, and bring them on in. Yeah, that's what she does. My history has been, I've been in pain, blah, blah, blah, you name it, blah, blah, blah, five kids, four natural, yeah, me, I no meds. Those four others. I know pain. I've got all you do a lot of stuff, and when I do, I don't really tell a whole bunch of people what's going on,
Julia Carmen 14:47
and I just tough it out, because that was my
Julia Carmen 14:51
family origin of just toughing it out. So it always took longer to heal. And I'd say, in the last 10 years, I've really worked on this.
Julia Carmen 15:00
Into my body. Always knew, those of you that are listening and know me, I've always known that
Julia Carmen 15:08
when there's pain in the body, or when there's pain in the checkbook or when there's pain in a relationship, but when we go into what I call a day denial, right? You know, the day denial of you know you're awake, it's a metaphor, right?
Julia Carmen 15:24
You know you're awake, but, yeah, I'm gonna deny this, you know? I and then there's that night denial, which you have no idea. It's just you can't see because the lights not on, right? But you're in denial and don't understand. You call it consciousness, or being unconscious about something, something, right?
Julia Carmen 15:41
And the last 10 years, I've recognized that, okay, I'm aware of this pain blah blah means blah blah, right? And I've done everything you could ever think of,
Julia Carmen 15:50
you know, I was a 60s, 70s, and I really, you know, looked at every angle and things that the TMS brought in and all that good stuff we're
Julia Carmen 16:02
going to be talking about, the TMS, and another chapter, you know what that is?
Julia Carmen 16:07
And I guess, hmm, so what
Julia Carmen 16:11
my granddaughter was sharing is, I just brought to her attention, is that what she does, she sees the pain, hears it, and says, like, No, you're not going to be there. You know, I'm not going to, you know that pain is not going to be there. It's just, you know, I'm just going to ignore it, not Yeah, and I'm not saying I ignored it. I'm just saying that I I would overdo in my younger days, about how I can heal it, versus what I was just sharing about being quiet, doing some soul listening and listening to that soul, self of being, the indigenous soul, has all the answers. Yeah,
Julia Carmen 16:50
all the answers.
Julia Carmen 16:52
So if you have the tendon acid, you have a high tolerance for pain
Julia Carmen 16:57
or a low tolerance for pain, how about a healthy tolerance for pain our body, our bodies are always talking story with us. They're always ready for some little cheese med to give us. Yeah. And
Julia Carmen 17:14
then one of the most important things, besides understanding where, you know, play up, is getting our crew together, is what I'm calling getting our tribe together, getting those folks that we trust and love, and they most of all trust and love us, that you know, Right?
Julia Carmen 17:34
And
Julia Carmen 17:36
yeah,
Julia Carmen 17:39
our crew is important, our tribe, our community. Yeah, now I'll share with you folks. I didn't do that on the physical realm. I had a few physical folks in my life,
Julia Carmen 17:56
and most of the time I depended on my non physical folks, my peace guides, ancestors and so on. Which were was great, wonderful. I'm not like ditching that,
Julia Carmen 18:11
but because I took care of me in ways that
Julia Carmen 18:17
probably weren't, you know, like it was just, it was a one woman job kind of deal. That's what I thought,
Julia Carmen 18:24
that I would just
Julia Carmen 18:28
plug along and not share much with anybody, until I got so bad,
Julia Carmen 18:33
I had no choice but to reach out for help. By then,
Julia Carmen 18:37
I was a mess,
Julia Carmen 18:40
metaphorically, always, you know, I was like, Oh my gosh, I messed up with this, and let's say physical, right? Oh, I messed up with this relationship. Oh, I messed up with this, oh, bookkeeper, help me with my I messed this up, and it was, and this is a tough one for some of you out there now, like my granddaughter. She's really cool about asking for help or asking for assistance, or she has her tribe, and I'm one of them. And she'll say, hey, I need this or I need that. And know this, I love being there for her, right? So she knows who she's talking story with, right?
Julia Carmen 19:22
I would wait to the last minute and then just gravitate to whoever was there, and depending on where I was in my emotional state of being, a lot of times I pick people that weren't available on all levels, because that was my old script. Yeah.
Julia Carmen 19:40
So getting your tribe together, getting your crew together, is very important.
Julia Carmen 19:50
In chapter six, there's this diagram in there, there will be a diagram, and if you can look at it as a triangle,
Julia Carmen 19:58
and I would like.
Julia Carmen 20:00
You To See you at the head of that triangle, the point, what I call the point person.
Julia Carmen 20:06
And just, let's just say you're the point person, and the point person is someone who's maybe the leader of a community, or the family, or,
Julia Carmen 20:20
yeah, or you're building something, or you're
Julia Carmen 20:24
whatever it is that you're doing, see, yeah,
Julia Carmen 20:31
and then
Julia Carmen 20:33
Mira and Mijas and mijo. So if you're the point person, and look at the triangle, and look at the two diff the two ends, you know, the one on the right, one on the left, and then right in the middle of that long one at the bottom. So if you could look at the one along Long one at the bottom, that's what I call the rudder. Yeah. So I right now the hookalia. I love that. I love the hookah, some Hawaiian, Hawaiian,
Julia Carmen 21:04
outrigger and check it out. There are there, I think they just left Hilo. This is 2025
Julia Carmen 21:11
the end of May.
Julia Carmen 21:14
They just left Hilo on a three year
Julia Carmen 21:18
voyage of
Julia Carmen 21:20
water voyage, ocean, water voyage of going all over the world. Yeah.
Julia Carmen 21:27
So a rudder is important, and then who's ever
Julia Carmen 21:31
in the canoe is super important.
Julia Carmen 21:37
So let's say you're the point person.
Julia Carmen 21:41
You're the person on this beautiful canoe, this outrigger canoe going to travel.
Julia Carmen 21:49
You need a great rudder.
Julia Carmen 21:53
A rudder is a person that
Julia Carmen 22:00
is that it could be a mate. A lot of times it is a mate, you know, partner, someone that you are connected with. It could be, you know, a husband, a wife. It could be a partner in business, yeah,
Julia Carmen 22:16
a super good friend, right?
Julia Carmen 22:19
Or a master teacher, someone that is part of your your thinking, Oh, my goodness, I need someone to to guide me, to keep me on track, right?
Julia Carmen 22:34
It's always, I think it's really cool to have a human form, but not always, like I said, sometimes they're not human,
Julia Carmen 22:44
but it does make the journey much easier when you have someone in human form,
Julia Carmen 22:50
as you're, you know, you know, I like to use master, but, yeah,
Julia Carmen 22:56
people, you know, like some People, use the word coach or,
Julia Carmen 23:01
or, or couldn't that out, or someone
Julia Carmen 23:06
that you resonate with, that you trust, yeah, with your soul self of being. And then the other two on the opposite sides of this triangle at the bottom are usually persons that you know, that you can count on to be part of your community, that are there always, maybe the lingo now is your besties, some besties, yeah.
Julia Carmen 23:36
And then in the in the triangle, are your people? Are, you know, maybe they could be your students or your I don't know what you guys call them now, what your folks call them,
Julia Carmen 23:51
persons that may be part of your company, your leader of a company, or it's your family, your family's there, yeah, it
Julia Carmen 24:01
is really cool when you can see that which you see.
Julia Carmen 24:09
So if you're the point person,
Julia Carmen 24:11
make sure
Julia Carmen 24:14
you get a nice crew. You need your rudder and you need to the other two folks. Yeah, creates a triangle.
Julia Carmen 24:27
The other piece, and I'll leave that there. There's more. The other thing in this chapter is our DNA,
Julia Carmen 24:36
which is sound frequency and vibration.
Julia Carmen 24:40
So we have the soul listening, which is actually the four vibrations of being. That's what it was called before, and now it's called Soul listening. And then we have the magical papers.
Julia Carmen 24:54
And how do they work together? As we get quiet,
Julia Carmen 24:59
I.
Julia Carmen 25:00
So the magical papers, just a real quick thing here, is you, you write down that, which is that you are looking to see or manifest or
Julia Carmen 25:09
answer a question. And you write them all down on different papers, and then you shuffle them, and you flip them upside down so you don't see what's on there. And then, from the soul, listening of self, you step on those papers, and it'll give you the info that you need, meaning yes or no, or this or that. Yeah, those two go hand in hand. And then
Julia Carmen 25:34
one of the things, the last things I want to share with you folks, and this was, this is in chapter six again, and that is, I have who is JC, now I'm not talking about Julia Carmen.
Julia Carmen 25:49
I'm talking about Jesus Christ. And of course, as soon as people hear Jesus Christ, they go, what? And it goes into kind of religion. And my younger days, I was
Julia Carmen 26:03
affiliated, I guess that's the word with two organized religions, and they both worked fine for me at the time. And then not right. Then I just moved on.
Julia Carmen 26:13
JC, Jesus Christ is not
Julia Carmen 26:18
in my in my own realm of being. He is one of my key folks that I listen. I don't know what it is not to have him in my life, not in the religious content, but in
Julia Carmen 26:36
in that which I know him, who knows, to put it,
Julia Carmen 26:43
yeah, I don't know
Julia Carmen 26:46
what, not him being there. Yeah, I'm using him, because that's how I see him, because he's been there since I've been here, and other vibrations of time and space. So
Julia Carmen 27:01
not realizing that it was he, until I kind of went to, you know, these organized church and I went, Oh, that oh, and I would look at him, I go, is that you?
Julia Carmen 27:11
He goes, Yeah, it's me. So I have a different relationship, more like a brother, sister kind of deal, and not any way, shape or form worshiping or anything like that. For he, he is light hearted and loving and constantly just sharing with me to go back home to self in a most loving, caring way. I'm feeling his love for myself and others around me. So Jesus Christ is
Julia Carmen 27:40
someone that is one of my peeps, not the peep. Yeah, because I have others, I look at his as he and I visit and talk story through many decades and other movements of time and space. And that is that he brings to this. You know, I look at this as this is his house, this planet, this solar system, this way of being, yeah, and unconditional love and unconditional trust of self. That's what this whole world is all about. And in that, as you can see in many things that have happened in this world. Like I mentioned, the year already,
Julia Carmen 28:26
things are happening. And the wonderful thing that he keeps reminding me of daily, moment to moment, if we're not sitting around joking around, what, but whatever,
Julia Carmen 28:39
my JC is kind of funny. I don't know about you, he's he keeps me on my toes. What he constantly reminds me of it's not about me loving other folks unconditionally or trusting other people unconditionally. He reminds me that I need to love myself unconditionally and trust myself unconditionally through the Soul listening of self. I know I've mentioned it several times, but that's the key, is listening to the self in a way with the quietness, not to throw away the brain or the heart or, you know, anything like that, or our bodies are, are constant. Oh my gosh, what a beautiful bodies we have. Please just know that, yeah, I mean,
Julia Carmen 29:29
yeah, we have this amazing body. Yeah, sometimes it's like, effed up and we don't feel good, or we we twist our ankle or arm or whatever, and or whatever's happened to us, yeah, but it's constantly giving us info about where we're at and when we need to slow down and when we need to really come back to home, to ourselves
Julia Carmen 29:55
when we're in fear our body definitely we're in anxiety and.
Julia Carmen 30:00
We see, we go, oh my goodness, I just need to breathe. That's what he's taught
Julia Carmen 30:06
me. I don't look at him as someone more than me or less than me. He is my brother on this walk. And this is his house, this solar system is his house with all of us, yeah, in the remembrance of ourselves and the remembrance of our soul, self, being and recognizing that we are whole, that's the message. This is not something I am sharing with you folks that are listening and that that's my truth. I struggle with this daily. There are days I'm going, well, the F is gone. Excuse
Julia Carmen 30:42
me. You know, like, what? The fuck yeah, like, what's going on here, kind of deal. And then my brain starts taking off, and I get anxiety, or whatever, you know, like, and I go, wow, my age, should I still be feeling this way? And
Julia Carmen 30:56
JC just looks at me and goes, oh my gosh, you really don't think you're human, right? And I go, I know, right, yeah, it's a human experience.
Julia Carmen 31:04
So we have our crew together, and whomever your crew is,
Julia Carmen 31:09
be grateful for them in the physical and non physical.
Julia Carmen 31:14
Jade Dragonfly is asking us
Julia Carmen 31:17
to heal ourselves in ways that we would only dream of. And it's not about doing more, that's the interesting part. It's not about doing more. It's not about getting the next whatever it is that we need,
Julia Carmen 31:31
the new fangled angle, whatever mirale.
Julia Carmen 31:36
It's about you, being you and being still and quiet. Yeah. This is not a command. This is just a re a remembrance of who you be. Yeah,
Julia Carmen 31:48
I have a, um, a little ditty that I'm going to close here with, and I hope you enjoy it. It is something that came we did this like 10 years ago at least, and I wrote all these blessings down, and I've been sharing them through the through the months this year, 2025,
Julia Carmen 32:06
and this one is, and I get a kick out of it, because our peeps, if you're listening, your peeps, pick this one out also. And this one's called honoring our tummies.
Julia Carmen 32:21
Our tummies our core, our second brain, the
Julia Carmen 32:27
they, I guess a scientist right say that all the same goodies our brain has, so does our tummies.
Julia Carmen 32:37
I'm sure you've heard or you've said yourself, my gut told me or I have a gut feeling
Julia Carmen 32:45
today, be thankful for your second brain.
Julia Carmen 32:50
Honor your tummy today.
Julia Carmen 32:54
Here's my little ditty. Here, I honor my tummy today by feeding it, loving food by rubbing it with loving thoughts, by watering it with clean and clear water inside and out, by knowing that my tummy is my core.
Julia Carmen 33:15
Amen
Julia Carmen 33:16
with thankfulness and love to all our tummies
