Unknown Speaker 0:05 Foreign Welcome back to the indigenous wisdom podcast. Yo soy Julia Carmen currendera de currenderas and your guide to nourishing and connecting with your soul. Self being mirele, well, well. Today we're taking a look at chapter seven of my book, The indigenous soul. Each month we look at one of the chapters its key teachings, and it's dragonfly. Unknown Speaker 0:39 It's dragonfly the guide, yeah, Unknown Speaker 0:42 this month, our wisdom guide is pushy dragonfly. Unknown Speaker 0:50 Be sure to check out the show notes at our website, the schoolwithout walls.net Unknown Speaker 0:56 where you'll have links to the resources to support your soul and build on what you what you'll hear today, and actually what you already know. It's a remembrance. Yeah, okay, let's get started. Unknown Speaker 1:14 This is what pushy dragon fly. Unknown Speaker 1:18 This message is, yeah, Unknown Speaker 1:22 pushy dragonfly, get going. There's no stopping you now. I push you in ways you would not Unknown Speaker 1:31 be ready for the big bang in your life. I push and push until the task is done. Unknown Speaker 1:43 Oh, my goodness, Unknown Speaker 1:45 pushy dragonfly. Unknown Speaker 1:48 Sometimes we a little push Unknown Speaker 1:54 in order to really see that which we already have within ourselves. Yeah, Unknown Speaker 2:01 a push to listen to our soul self, of being, our trueness, of all that we be within Unknown Speaker 2:11 pushy dragonfly totally does that. So I really like happy and joyful that pushy picked chapter seven, which has to do with ego, boundaries, grounding and centering oneself. So I just want to touch a little bit on that. Yeah, Unknown Speaker 2:31 and so Unknown Speaker 2:34 the one thing that I have recognized and noticed through the years of working and teaching and inviting folks to come back home to themselves, and all the things that I've done in all my life, and that is that Unknown Speaker 2:48 it's a secret, okay, not really, but it's a secret. Men and women are different. Unknown Speaker 2:55 We're different, and when we're talking about ego. Now, this is a generalization, all right? Or one thing that I notice about ego, okay, let's back up a little bit in ego. And I think ego is a good thing. I don't think it's a negative thing. I think it's actually a pretty good thing. You have a sense of self. Ego is like a sense of self, a sense of who you think and be Unknown Speaker 3:21 as a human, yeah, kind of like messages you've been given, right? So what is a healthy ego? We're going to touch on that a little bit more. But what I want to share with you is that what I notice when folks, when male and females, when they're feeling insecure about who they be as a human, I noticed that men have the tendency to go into, Unknown Speaker 3:46 oh, look at me, aren't I Wonderful? Unknown Speaker 3:51 So it's this sense of unhealthy pride and pounding chest and Unknown Speaker 4:01 acting like I know everything and you know nothing. That's what we're talking about, insecurity. I'm not saying all men are like that, but yeah, but I'm sure there's a lot out there that you folks have experienced, especially if you're women, and definitely women of color, it's like, yeah. And the other thing that I notice about women is that there's this sense of I am not enough. Unknown Speaker 4:32 There's a sense of you like, you don't have an ego. And I remember thinking about this, somebody says, Oh, you know, Unknown Speaker 4:42 they have so much ego, and I don't have any ego. And actually, when we think of ourselves as not enough, that's still ego. It's not a healthy way of looking at self, right? Unknown Speaker 4:57 So if you look at the male energy. Unknown Speaker 5:00 And how it's been portrayed for a long time. You know the Unknown Speaker 5:05 patriarch, yeah, Unknown Speaker 5:07 where it's all like, me, me, me, me, me, I'm it. I'm the best, right? Unknown Speaker 5:13 That's ego, unhealthy ego. And then you have a female that's like, I'm not enough. I don't know what I'm doing, Unknown Speaker 5:21 comparing self. I think women have had a lot of challenges through the centuries, basically, especially, you know, now with social media and stuff like that, you're right. When I was growing up, we had magazines, and I remember I had six sisters, so it's like, we look at the magazines and then we would see these women back then, we didn't know that they were airbrushed, right? We didn't, we didn't know, yeah, so we just thought, oh my gosh, look at her. She's perfect. And so in the 60s, when I was a teenager, Unknown Speaker 5:54 being thin was like the most important thing, like, super thin, yeah, just a side note. I did have a lot of eating disorders back then. Oh, that's a whole nother thing. So that's a sense of of wanting to look like something that as a full figured Latina. Unknown Speaker 6:16 And when I look at pictures back now, I said, Oh my gosh, I look great. Unknown Speaker 6:21 And I thought I was like, I thought I had too much body. Yeah, now I have quite a bit of body. But back then I thought, Oh my goodness. Anyway, so when we look at ego, if you're looking at ego, what does it have to do with pushy? What does it have to do with Unknown Speaker 6:38 I push and push until the task is done if we are Unknown Speaker 6:44 in a state of insecurity Unknown Speaker 6:48 and in the male frequency of being an energy, there's this over compensation. I think, I don't think I've seen it a long time ago. It's been a long time. I and my younger days, I worked, I had a center, Wellness Center, and I worked mainly with men Unknown Speaker 7:09 20 years and that's kind of what I did. I my daughter and I put together this nonprofit. Most of our clients were men, and Unknown Speaker 7:21 that's what I noticed about a lot of the men. And I Unknown Speaker 7:24 counseled 1000s of men in those 20 years, and this is where I came up with this information. Was, Oh, my goodness, no minds with the psychology books and all that. I'm not saying that's whatever's right. I mean, mira, we're talking cheese me right here. I Unknown Speaker 7:44 hope I don't offend anybody, but if I do, oh, well, Freud, Unknown Speaker 7:48 he did not like women. Okay, you didn't hear from me so and I remember thinking, oh my goodness, the men, Unknown Speaker 7:57 the majority of the men that came to our center had, Unknown Speaker 8:03 you know, hurt people that they loved, or so called they loved, yeah. And I noticed that it was all about this power and control of getting you know over certain people, you know, usually their partners or their children or their work or whomever they thought. Yeah. So there was a sense of this big, huge ego that they felt like I needed to show that I'm this person that I can Yep, and then the women that I that were in that would come to our center, they were more like, Unknown Speaker 8:34 I'm not enough. Unknown Speaker 8:37 I can't do anything. And yes, that was either a parent or their partner, where they bought into that, the man bought into being, you know who they be. Unknown Speaker 8:48 And so I said it's still ego, because if ego is a sense of self, right, and it's what people have shared with us, and we built this, this little pocket of stories that are ego Unknown Speaker 9:04 driven, yeah. Unknown Speaker 9:09 So what I'd like to share with you, how did, how did we, you know, facilitate Unknown Speaker 9:16 folks that have hurt folks and folks that have been hurt. The main thing that we needed to share with everyone, and that was that nobody was broken. Unknown Speaker 9:28 Okay, everyone had the answers within themselves, and because there was so much covered up Unknown Speaker 9:37 in the sense of their stories, of the ego, of the self of their experiences, right? And it wasn't about uncovering that. It wasn't even about healing, that. It was about moving into a state of wonder, wonderfulness of self, and recognizing that they we have the answers within, yeah, once we see. Unknown Speaker 10:00 Self, then we don't hurt self and we don't hurt other folks. It's just kind of how it goes. Okay? So there's something we must understand in order to get back in order to invite ourselves to come back home to self, yeah, and that is, like I mentioned earlier, boundaries, grounding and centering oneself, Unknown Speaker 10:24 like I mentioned already, a lot of my work with men and women had everything to do with boundaries, Unknown Speaker 10:32 yeah, and we talk about that in Unknown Speaker 10:38 the book Unknown Speaker 10:40 energetic boundaries and three to six feet around us, and we're talking about the non physical realm of being, Unknown Speaker 10:49 yeah, Unknown Speaker 10:50 and building, not building, that's not the right word, but in the remembrance that We have, Unknown Speaker 10:58 we have been designed through creator, through God, through JC, to Unknown Speaker 11:06 have those boundaries around us. And because there have been times that we have the tendency to go back into memory, consciously or unconsciously, right, I think the most beautiful gift is in the knowing of self, that we walk both worlds at the same time, the physical and non physical, the soul, self of being and the human part of being. They're right there. Unknown Speaker 11:34 They're they're not really separate. I'm actually separating them only because we have a physical body. So our physical body is constantly giving us information, yeah, constantly, because our brain has a memory of how many years we've been here on this planet. And that's all we have to go on with our brain, which is great, right? It's kind of like a social media, you know, the algorithms. So the brain, if you could really look at it's like an algorithm. Whatever you feed into it is what it's going to keep flashing before your head, before your eyes. Excuse me, and you interact with somebody, and you may just see that, but I'm sharing with you there's this soul self of being your admi, which is your soul that's they're 24/7, Unknown Speaker 12:23 it's not about overriding your human Unknown Speaker 12:27 algorithm. Yeah. It is about saying, hey, you know what? There's more. Unknown Speaker 12:33 And in order for us as humans to understand the all of us, Unknown Speaker 12:40 we need those boundaries, those energetic boundaries, and it comes from the inside out, Unknown Speaker 12:46 and then there's this grounding. There's this Unknown Speaker 12:50 huge thing about grounding constantly, you know, walking on the on the land, and touching the trees and and all this manual you like, connect. Well, it's a reconnection. It's a remembrance that you are one with that tree. There's really, I mean, yeah, sure, you go out nature and then, yeah, allow the the tree to be the tree with you, because the tree is already there and it's already with you. Hope I'm not sounding too off here, but it's already there. Unknown Speaker 13:22 I just find it. I'm laughing because I find it kind of interesting Unknown Speaker 13:28 that it's, it's, it's about the remembrance Unknown Speaker 13:36 of you, Unknown Speaker 13:38 see, and in the remembrance of you Unknown Speaker 13:42 by seeing self, by seeing the ego of you, and not making any judgment around Unknown Speaker 13:51 the ego of you. And you know, like trying to get rid of it or whatever, because it cannot right. I want to share with you a little story, and I've shared it before about this ego thing. I'm gonna touch on the ego, and then go through the things that I've shared and hopefully bring it back Unknown Speaker 14:10 to you, to us. Unknown Speaker 14:13 I was Unknown Speaker 14:15 talking story with some young men. They were in Unknown Speaker 14:21 grammar school and middle school, I guess, which you call, right? And I was talking about the ego and really getting in there. And, you know, these are young folks, right? And then one of the young men, young boy, actually has a band now, but a young boy said, Unknown Speaker 14:38 you know that ego, and I had it up on the whiteboard, and I go, Yeah. He goes, Unknown Speaker 14:42 How do I get rid of that? Unknown Speaker 14:45 And I go, you know, I never even thought of that because I didn't like what I just shared with you folks, right? He goes, How do I get rid of the ego? And I go, Well, I don't know. Can not because could, you know what I want to get rid of that that ego looks like it get us into a lot of trouble, and I don't want any trouble. Unknown Speaker 15:00 Well, I'm in enough trouble at school right now, but I think that's what's been getting me into trouble, is my ego, and so I'm giggling because my under if he if that's all he heard in that class, because it was a six month class, or something like that. Then I thought, yes, yes, he's gonna understand. So I went on to explain, like I share with you folks, it's not about getting rid of the ego. It's just about understanding that we take on things and it becomes our sense of self in the human realm. Yeah, Unknown Speaker 15:32 that's it. I Unknown Speaker 15:34 could have said that earlier, right? And then understanding our boundaries and grounding ourselves to that which is already here, and that is centering ourselves with self. So when pushy says, I push and push until the task is done. Unknown Speaker 15:52 In all reality, the ego, as long as we're human, will always be there. Unknown Speaker 15:59 It will constantly make us go here, there and everywhere. Yeah, in the health of the ego, the health of the sense of self, we are kind to ourselves. We are gentle with ourselves. We're thoughtful to our ego self. We see, oh, my goodness, that's my story, huh? Maybe I would like to let that go, just like that young boy. I think that's going to give me some trouble, but instead, I love you, Ico, you have brought me to this point of life. And, yeah, sometimes you're going to push me in a healthy way, in a direction that I need so that I know what I need to do next. So I hope this was useful and helpful. There's so much more to this chapter. I'm just hitting on these a few things. Here we go really into the ego and ways, yeah, and we we go into the boundaries and the grounding and the centering oneself. And we have some exercises in the book. It's really great. I just wanted to give you an overview. I know I've keep saying this. It's just remember, you have this already. You're the magic. I'm not the magic. The book's not the magic. You're the magic. But we just forget. Yeah, we all forget. I forget. Unknown Speaker 17:21 So Unknown Speaker 17:23 I would love to leave you with Unknown Speaker 17:26 something I use. I have all these blessings that I did many, many, many, many moons ago, and they're coming back to me, and I'm like, Oh, this was so perfect. I think for this Unknown Speaker 17:39 chapter seven, which will be in chapter seven. It is called Earth water. What a beautiful earth water. Unknown Speaker 17:48 Three fourths of this earth is made up of water, just like us. Unknown Speaker 17:54 When we are born, we are almost 90% water in the womb. We float in beautiful liquid. Unknown Speaker 18:04 We feed from a mother womb. We are one with another human. We hear her sound, her vibration. We breathe with her. She breathes with us. Unknown Speaker 18:21 We are born in the womb, Unknown Speaker 18:25 and the water comes gushing out, Unknown Speaker 18:30 and then we breathe out our first breath. Unknown Speaker 18:35 We are on this earth, water and the continuation of the womb that holds us with its water around us, holding us, loving us, feeding us, quenching our thirst of this life form we Be, Unknown Speaker 18:56 hermanitas, hermanitos Today, hold this earth water of being, an all sacred being of life. Now Unknown Speaker 19:07 be in the knowing that we are one with this amazing Earth water, Unknown Speaker 19:14 earth water. Unknown Speaker 19:16 Thank you for holding me. Thank you for loving me.
