And the vastness of the park allows for choices to visit the popular sites or those less traveled. Yellowstone should be on everyone's bucket list, but be aware, dangers lurk throughout the park. In 1870, however, the region was mostly unexplored. Here is the story of Truman Everts, who was part of an early exploration commission called the Washburn Expedition.
