The Word Protects Us From Evil

We don’t have to look very far to see rising hostilities between all kinds of people in the world today over all kinds of reasons. Hostility often boils just below the surface waiting to explode and bring destruction to everything around it. Hostility is opposition or resistance to an idea or person with an attitude of enmity and anger, and if you have ever had someone become hostile towards you, or someone you love you know how frightening and unsettling it can be. As a Christian living in a world full of hostility, what are we to do? How should we respond? Do we look and act any different from the world around us that Jesus sent us into? Are we just as hostile to those who are different or have differing ideas or do we run and hide out of fear? We are in the final week of our series “Abide” where we have been looking at what it means to abide in the Word of God. Today we will be looking at how to handle being a Christian in a hostile world.
