Episode description

There are things that we learn through the pain of life that we can never learn through the comforts of life. Or as one author put it, “Perhaps I shall see things through my tears that dry-eyed I could not see.” We have talked about minor keys, major keys, and even suspensions. Today we will be tackling the book of Lamentations which is the most comprehensive minor key song in the Bible. Lamentations were more than just expressions of personal grief, but they were also designed to help God’s people never forget the lesson’s learned out of pain or crisis. Much like the Lord’s Table where we take communion to remember the pain and sacrifice of the cross. The book of Lamentations is a historical lament meant to teach us important lessons that should never be forgotten. Lament is more than a personal expression of sorrow; it is a memorial.
