God Almighty

We are in week five of our series we are doing with our Every Nation churches all over the world, “Awesome God.” We are looking at the different names of God, and how by knowing His name we know His character better, we know God more intimately. Be encouraged to continue to cultivate your knowledge of God through His Word. The more you know Him the more you will love and trust Him, and the more you love and trust Him the more you will want to know Him. This is why spending time in your Bible matters, as it is the “written Word of God,” and it makes us more familiar with His being, personality, and moral attributes, as well as leading us to the Living Word, Jesus Christ. There is no telling how many interpretations of the Hebrew pronunciations of God’s name there have been. But literally, El Shaddai means “God Almighty,” and it is among the most frequently appearing names for God in the Bible. A better foundational meaning of El Shaddai may be “the overpowerer,” which emphasizes God’s power to achieve all His purposes. The Lord’s strength is absolutely perfect and cannot be increased or diminished.
