Bow Before The King

Tension. It can be a bad thing in some situations, like awkward family conversations, or stress in your muscles, but it can be a good thing as well, like a hammock or wires on a tension bridge. We believe the people of God felt the good kind of tension before Jesus came to earth as a baby. The good tension they felt for centuries concerned their covenants with God, that were good, and made a way for them to be in relationship with a Holy God, but there was something better, and they were still longing for what Hebrews 8:6 calls a “better or superior covenant.” This longing would be fulfilled with the coming of the perfect prophet, the Greatest High Priest, and King of kings, Jesus Christ. This is what we celebrate at Christmas time, our King has come!
