Also in this episode we talk about:

  • How an emotional video about his friendship with Owen Hart made Jeff Jarrett go from people asking "why is he in this tournament?". to rooting for him to win it all. We also reveal our thoughts on how we feel Jarrett's journey in the tournament might end.
  • Our honest opinions about ROH, and whether we think it should keep going.

It's Tuesday. You know what that means. It's time for ignition with the a w FAHAB podcast team. This is Kelson, this is Alex, and we are nearing the end of Forbidden Door season. Maybe some people's favorite season of the year. I think for other people it's maybe their least favorite season of AEW. This has been an interesting Forbidden Door build because I would say the main event match that we have is between two ae W wrestlers, so

it's not really your traditional Forbidden Door match. And I know the question has been raised and I don't agree with this that maybe the luster on Forbidden Door is waning. Let me ask you this, Alex, is the fact that it is an AW versus A main event weighing on your mind at all? And if so, even if it even if it isn't weighing on your mind, can you think is there anything else on the card that you were like, maybe that should be a better main main event. I I like the

main event. I think it is one of the best matches that AW can put put on. And I know with Forbidden Door they traditionally want, you know, like they had last year the main event was Brian Danielson versus Okada, which is a huge match and they had never wrestled before, but they didn't really have that. I don't feel like there was any big name in New Japan, being as AW already took will Osprey, they already took O, right, so what what is the biggest match that they could do?

Like Nido is probably the biggest name in New Japan, but he's not really familiar to American audiences in the same way. Yeah, yeah, like they do have John Moxley versus Nido, and I think that's a good match and it'll be a strong match, but yeah, it's just not it's not what AW wants to be for the marquee match for Forbidden Doors. So I think

it makes sense that they're doing Swerve Strickland versus will Osprey. I guess they're not gonna do that at all in and this is the way to have that match, have a huge match for Forbidden Door, and then all the other matches, in my opinion, are more in line with Forbidden Door. It's not just New Japan. This time, we have CMLL, we have stardom. So I think, like on paper, when I compare this card to last years or two years ago. Card. I feel like it's a really

strong card. We're gonna have a lot of really great matches. But I do understand some people saying that it's not true forbidden Door matches. Fair enough, I want to go to Suckman and Nett get their take on it first thing. You know, maybe you can even answer the question right. I asked, right off the bat, do you think that Strickland versus Osprey is the best choice for the main event at this Forbidden Door or would you have

personally picked something else out of this card? Well, I'm going to give you the match I know you want as the main event right off the bat. No, I don't think that. I don't think that the Swears Strickmand with the Lostbury match should be the main event because it's not a Forbidden Door match. Sorry, it's just not. It hasn't changed. I mean, the fact that it's going to be the main event doesn't change my looking forward

to the event. But in the case of what should have been the main event, it should be the Meana Shear cow Tony Storm match because that has had the biggest, best built up of all the matches they're there. I can agree with that. Yeah, I think the women's match that should be featured. I'm not very excited about the Swerve Osprey match. I mean, they're both in AEW. They can keep there fighting, you know, exclusively

to ae W every week on TV. I always thought of Forbidden Door as something that both fandoms don't get to see often, you know, the Japanese fans and the AW fans don't get to see every day, and this just kind of feels like an everyday match. So I would have rather kept the women's match forefront. And if if they did that, that plays on two things. Everyone is calling for more women's matches, plus it's more of a forbid indoor match in and of itself. Well, let me let me ask

you a question. You don't let everybody a question here. The main events were versus Osprey's for the AW Men's title. Do you think that maybe it could have been more uh enticing if they had made it not only for the AW Men's World Championship but also for the International Championship title versus title. No, I don't want to see them connected again. I know that there was more to two that were connected before, but I don't want to see I

don't like when they put titles like that together because it's it. I just don't like it when they do that, because they don't seem to always have a way to separate them later on. I don't mind when it's certain titles, but not like the titles that are considered to be I mean, it's it's to me those titles that one, the Internet title, and the Yeah, those three titles, to me are like the top titles in the company, and you don't want to put the two top titles together or three types

titles. That's just a mean. Now, if you put like the TNT title with the WW or with the WW with the World title or with the other two titles, that wouldn't be a problem. But to do it with like major titles just doesn't make any sense. I always felt like the International title was the lowest rung, in my opinion, like the last with not taking will Osprey into consideration, the last title holder was Roddy, and I

think he'd be like the bottom tier. Give that an aberration, like I, yeah, I don't love you know, if will Osprey does win this match, they do put the titles together, it seems like maybe it's set up because he's not going to win the match. That's why it's only for the AW World champions But like this match is gonna be when they're in the ring facing each other and the crowd like before they touch, before the bell

rings, the crowd's gonna be like nuts. These are the two top like singles wrestlers, I'd say right now in AW they haven't interacted on AWTV. I think this is gonna be a huge match. It's gonna be like, you know, a Meltzer five star level match. It's gonna be huge. But it is kind of marred being on the Forbidden Door card because it's not title for title and it is for the AW World Championship and get Do you

give will Osprey any chance whatsoever of winning this match? Or is this a face where Osprey is knowing that he's as good as he is and he's still gonna have the International Championship after this match is over, whether he wins or

loses. Is this just a case of AW using Will Osprey to put Swerve Strickland over As a champion, Will Osprey is he's on that level where he's World championship level, if not considered like the top guy in AW, so I can easily see him winning this match, and I think it makes it more interesting for Swerve Strickland to be that angry upset that he lost. The more statistics Swerve Strickland that we've kind of lost as we have had like Babyface

champions Sware of Strickland. So if they did go that direction, it could be very interesting. I agree, but I do lean towards Swerve kind of like a ninety percent chance of him winning here just by how I feel and the fact that it's only for the AW World Championship, it definitely makes me lean towards Swerve. Well, I saw that you agree, So what would

you do? You agree with everything that Alex said or do you have something that I agree that this This match has the potential to bring out the Swerve that we have kind of lost, where he is more evil and more of a He has a bad side to him, and it seems like since he's become champion, we see bits and pieces of it, but we don't see it like we used to. I for some reason, I think that if anybody can bring it out of him, I actually think that Will Osprey can

bring it out of him. I don't know if it's because they're quote unquote friends and they know each other and know how to push one another's buttons, but I would like to see more of that in Swerve as a champion. And I also think that they can use this match to set up some long term storytelling, which, as you know, I love the storytelling between Swerve and Osprey. Like this match will happen, but it won't be the ending. I look forward to them going farther with it, somewhere down the line

and getting more out of both of them. Swerve is the kind of wrestler to me, and I don't know if you guys will agree with this, but he seems to be at his best when he's not quite a heel, but he's not quite a babyface. He's kind of in the anti hero realm. And then you have Will Osprey with his Golden Retriever energy as since which

has said and I think it's a good matchup. Thing that bothers me about this match is that it's not one obvious, like Alex said, ninety five percent obvious that I swore Strictlan's gonna win this, and even if he doesn't win it, and Ospbury wins. Then Osprey has two belts, and I just don't like either result. I I kind of hope something happens in this match where it's no contact. I got you covered. Yeah, I see this is how I see it happening. Uh, gonna be a great match

until the end, because I don't see it ending. It's gonna end in a disqualification or some way, because what's gonna happen is some cowboy shit's gonna go down. Tony has almost always had something up his sleeve at pay per views, almost always. If you go back and look at all the pay per views, there's always somebody making him return or something hasn't happened for a while. It's not been a consistent thing. That's the last couple of pay

per views, maybe one, but not think. I think that Adam Page is going to come back. I think he's going to cost the match. It's going to be awarded to Ospray for interference or whatever, and then he's going to announce that he is the wild car Entry in the possibility of them to swear versus Adam Page at all. In now, what happens when Tony Kahan does what he always does and at the last second makes it a Q match, you know, And that's something that they don't do that much in

in a W which is is refreshing. They have always makes a last minute change the matches. Well, yeah, I'm not saying about that. I'm saying about the no DQ. They don't have very many no DQ's or interference you know, matches that are ended by outside of interference. It doesn't end that way, not really. Yeah, they usually have to roll up or something, you know, somehow, So hopefully that's gonna happen either way. I see I see Osprey getting a win, but not the title. What

I've hoped for is a double count out. That would be cool too. Yeah, it could happen. Yeah, yeah, I do think they are probably setting up Swere versus Hangman at Wembley. But but we'll see. Anything could happen. The only way that can happen though, is he's got to be in the Owen because the winner of the Owen gets Wembley. What is your I am hype for this match. They've done everything right going up to

this match. This is the one I want to say match. Yeah for me, I'm I want to say, first of all for this Forbidden Door. I'm I'm excited about it a lot because the last couple Forbidden Doors we had like Tanahashi and toamahiro Ishi and Minoro Suzuki and a lot of wrestlers that were kind of like older Nostalgia Act type of New Japan wrestlers. And this time we're getting more guys who can go and are in their prime, like

Shingo and Hatcha Sarro, Nito Zach Saber Junior. But the match I'm most looking forward to just because I love Hetcha Saro and I don't know if we've really had a real singles match with him since he's shown up again, but yeah, I and JF versus Hetcha Saro is what I'm most excited for. That because you baby, Yeah, and I want to what about you son? Okay, So match I'm looking forward to, probably of them allays got to be the minas Hyar Cow match. They're playing it up so well,

they really are. Yeah, this match is like unbelievably well put together. I want to know who they're putting, who's doing the input on this, because they need to get all the matches set up like this match. Yeah, I'm going. I'm going to say something that even surprises myself because I have been a little tired of seeing Orange Cassidy, but I am actually excited

to see him and Zach Saber Junior wrestle. That that's the match I'm looking forward to, and it's because I like Zach Saber Junior a lot, and also I think that Orange Cassidy is full of surprises and his laid back approach to wrestling actually hides a pretty good technical wrestler. So I'm looking forward to their match for those reasons. I think that it's it's going to be surprisingly good the Mina Shikawa and you can also throw Mariah May into the mix here.

That story has had a tremendous build and it is by far to be the most compelling match. Not no other match even comes close at all. As far as Tony Storm and Mina Sirkawa goes, that should be the main event. I am sorry, no one will be able to convince me otherwise. Now I want to flip the script and I want to ask who you guys think are what is maybe the less type match on Forbidden Door for you and your reasons why. And I'm going to go first because I'm going to

disagree with net on this one. I have less than zero interest in seeing Orange Cassidy and Zach Saber. I don't give a shit. I literally don't give a shit about this match. I am so sick. I'm getting so sick of seeing the am wrestlers shoved down my throat. Orange Cassidy is only finding Zach Saber Junior in this pay per view because Tony Kahan wanted to have

Orange Cassidy on his pay per view. There is no other reason, all right, that's Orange Cassidy does like he's kind of floth style if you want to call it, is it is. It works really well with the tricky British style of Zach Saber Jr. My point is is that I don't care. Look, if you wanted to get me interested in the match, but Zack Saber Junior in is in there by himself and Rustle the Invisible Man, it would be a better match for me because simply, I'm not saying that

Orange Cassidy is not talented. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I think he's a phenomenal wrestler. I just think he's tired, tiring and boring because he's on too much. And to make a another point that I made last week as well, on Dynamite, it was just announced not too long ago that Zach Saber Junior has a match on Dynamite. Yes who it's against. If you're gonna talk badly about this match, Kyle freak so excited

for this match. This is like they had the Kyler Riley versus Malachi Black match, which is one of my favorite matches of this year period, and this match is gonna be in the same vein like they're both fantastic technical wrestlers. It's gonna be awesome. I am for I haven't watched this match. It's that the TV channel gets turned. I am so sick Kyle O'Reilly every single freaking week. Give it a rest and it wouldn't even be a it would even be worse. Well, let me that's not the one I wanted

to say, But let me put it this way. After Kyle O'Reilly loses tomorrow night, because we know that he is because there's still ways period. Yeah, it's the help get set up for the paper sixteenth math match in the last two months sixteen and he's got after he loses tomorrow. I I think he has like a six and ten record, and like for all the guys that lose a lot on Dynamite and Collision, he's he's one guy that's almost like immune to losing. I think people still like him. Well obviously

that's except Kelston. But you're you're not. You don't even watch the match, so I don't know if that matters. Well, let me put it this way, like what I say that I'm not going to watch the Orge Cassidy match. Look at the Orange Cassidy's run, his first run as the International Champion and where he wrestled like Kyle O'Reilly every single week. Was there

any difference between one Orange Cassidy match and the next. None. Ninety percent of the time he won by surprise roll up after getting the crap beat out of them, and a couple of times he won with the Orange punch. That's it. They're the same match. They're going to do the same moves in every match that they do. But if they're on every single week and wrestling in twenty minute matches every single week, it becomes glaringly obvious, you

know, And that's my problem. It's not that Kyle O'Reilly isn't a good wrestler. It's not that Orange Cassidy isn't a good wrestler, It's just that their matches are mind numbingly boring. Yeah, Steven, I don't agree with that. This is like you ask about this pay per view and if you're looking forward to the pay per view, I look forward to every pay per

view they do. I have not had one one pay per view that I've watched in aw that I have not looked forward to and not had good things to say about because there it's so different than what I'm used to when I was watching the WWE back in the day. Every pay per view they did, they pretty much the same thing all the time. You knew what was gonna happen. Always something exciting happens in these pay per views, and every single match is a top match. It could all they could all be.

There's a couple they have been bad or been medium. But for over Paul, it doesn't matter who the competitors are. They put on the best shows and that's what people come in for. It's not gonna matter if it was Orange Cashty versus Jackson Jack Say Virginior is going to be an amazing match. Him going against Kyler Radley tomorrow Night's going to be an amazing match. Well, here's here's the thing. The one I don't look forward to is the

Mercedes Monague match because I am I am not sold on her. She has not proven to me that she is worth the hype that she's gotten. She proved to me that she's a WWE wrestler in a w because she's exactly what I expected we were gonna get. She's done nothing to show me that she's greater than what and being. She's like so overhyped it's not even funny. And to what's a star who has been wrestling and has two titles going to lose to her? Because that's the same thing as every other match this one.

You know who's gonna win. They're not gonna because Mercedes is supposed to have had that belt. I don't care if she was supposed to have the belt she got hurt. Belt's gone now that that opportunity was gone when she got hurt and couldn't win it. But that's not how they think about it. So I do not look forward to that match. I watch it because I think it's gonna be a great match anyway. I mean, I want

to see her opponent because I've never seen a wrestle before. Stephanie Facker is really really good, and I know she's beaten Stephanie before, but you know that was over a year ago when she was on her game and hadn't missed the year, and I just I just don't look forward to I think Monet is going to end up when they talk about the people who were signed this year by AAW She's going to be the least important one because, yeah,

she's making some things change for the women's division, but she didn't bring any new talent more than what we already have. Yeah. I mean, look, we have two Forbidden Door women's matches and people people are literally calling for a third. And here's the thing. Yeah, I don't know if you saw my post that I made on the aw fat Hub subreddit, but Stardom is actually doing a show on the same day for as Forbidden Door. Yeah, so so that eliminates a lot of women from Stardom being in Forbidden Door.

There are three women from star who are not and when I say three women, I mean three notable women from Stardom who are not booked for the startup event as the same day as Forbidden Door, and I'm sorry if I butchered these names. One is Mama Watanami, two is Saori Anew and third is Pam Nakano. So I'm looking for all three of those women to be or at least two of them to be at Forbidden Door. So I think

you're going to see another match made for for Bid Door. My wish is that that I said this before, is that they do one of those Gotlin matches like they had for the men about three weeks ago. I thought it was really good, and I just think that if they had like two or three women from Stardom, with two or three women from AW and even two or three women from CMLL participated in this match, it would be great. Yeah. And of course Baki though, yeah, yeah, I'd be great

to see her. I didn't say what I thought was my least favorite match. Yeah, I'm gonna uh So we have nine matches on the cards so far. I think eight of these matches maybe seven, could be really great. I like the Learning Tree, I even like the Joe Hook Shabata stuff, but this match, like, couldn't they have found a way just pair them both up against new Japan teams or something along those lines. Maybe a six on six against the House of Torture, like just anything could have been

more interesting to me than this match. So yeah, I agree. Well, look, maybe more matches put on this show. I'm sure there will be. There's not fourteen last year, so we're probably gonna see plenty more announced for at least for zero but yeah, yeah, for like five days before the pay per view, you know, come on. I think a lot of them just get thrown together because they have a lot of new japan

guys. Like if you look at last year's Zero Hour card, it was just some random things, but we had a lot of extra new japan guys, which was cool. Yeah, you know, when you're talking about this year, especially with Stardom, CML and Japan, maybe visa issues that are last minute things that they couldn't Yeah, they don't want to announce a match

that they may not be able to pull off, you know. So, I mean it must be so hard to put this together, especially the build up to the card itself, like getting people from four different companies, arranging all their travel, arranging with the head offices of all these companies, it must be very difficult to actually arrange all of this. Well, let me ask you this, Alex, what do you think about maybe next year or you know, but in the near future doing Forbidden Door in New Japan territory?

That would be awesome. That would be really really cool. Drop back, like, I know that Alex, you're on the East coast, so as am I that would be like a four o'clock of the morning pay per view. Uh so yeah, no, that that's true if they did in Japan. Yeah, that it's on the West coast, to be like, what what of the morning in the morning, yeah, you know, so, I mean so it'll definitely be like stay off Twitter, stay off the subreddits and you know, hide it okay, and then we'll put it on

at noon kind of thing. Yeah, that would be yeah. Yeah, that's why it's hard to follow New Japan because, yeah, you can't watch them live unless you want to wake up at My son follows New Japan and watches all that stuff all hours of the night. Yeah, craziness. Yeah, but it's kind of fun though, when you're when you're if you're if you do want to find out what happened in New Japan. You wake up

in the morning and it's there, you know. I mean, if you're going to go out, you're going to buy a pay per view, you know that's on tape delay. You're probably not going to go look at the results. But I wanted to ask one more question because this is based on something that Sutton brought up, not taking into account you're working, or you have a family, you know, thing that you're function that you're doing.

Has there been any pay per views let's just all we go back two years in the last two years, have there been any pay per views that you did not buy? I have my West r O h ones. Okay, well, well I think of one I don't remember, but I never missed an a W one. You never this at AW wont about you never? No, No, I've not missed any of the AW pay per views, not one cool Alex. Yeah, no, since I've been a fan, like, yeah, there has been a few that I've not been able to

watch until the next day. But yeah, I think I bought everything for like r oh r oh whatever, the the Honor Club, yeah, everything. Well, for me, there's only been two pay per views that I did not buy or watch and that's uh, Forbidden Door one and Forbidden Door two? Wow three number one? Is that the first I was if you remember, you know, on our podcast a month ago, based on what and you know, I get, I I hate for loving you something,

but you know I have to agree. Based on what was being done with Mina shir Kawa and Tony Storm, I was like, Wow, they're actually building up this pay per view properly, and I really want to see this match. And I still want to see this match, but if I bought Forbidden Door three, it would be mostly for Mina Sirka and Tony Storm. Am I buying Forbidden Door three? I have not yet, and I haven't

decided yet. I know everybody that's listening to this is going to be on pins and needles until I announced whether I watch Forbidden Door three, and I made that as sarcastically as possible as Hey, you watch wrestling for your entertainment, you know, it's just tho. It's fun. It's supposed to be fun or intriguing or whatever it's supposed to be. Whatever you want to get out of it. I hope you get out of it. I just didn't have any interest in Forbidden Door or Forbidden Door two. I will say this,

I do have a little bit more interested Forbidden Door three. I think, yeah, that's mostly based on Mina shir Kawa and Tony Storm's match. There are a lot of people to back paper just for one match. Anyways, I guess we can shift gears. I think we also wanted to talk

about the inclusion of Jeff Jarrett in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament. I know this is getting a lot of interest because he put out a very heartfelt, touching video talking about his relationship with Owen Hart, which I think a lot of people maybe weren't thinking of in terms of why Jeff Jarrett's part of the owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament right, And I want to hear your guys takes because I think it is you know, they do have a lot of

history. Like Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart were really close. They were both in WWE right at the time of owen Hart's death, and I think it is a really touching idea of him being in this tournament. I think Jeff Jarrett is a guy that gets overlooked, but he is a He's a veteran

presence in the aw locker room. He seems to be working behind the scenes for them, and it's nice to see him get this moment to showcase and be like the ultimate babyface in this tournament and probably gets squashed by whoever the joker is. Hang Man had a page probably yeah, you know, evil hang Man. I mean, look to be fair, when Jeff Jarrett was announced that a lot of people were saying why. Yeah, a lot of people were saying why. I mean, it was all over Twitter, it

was all over read, it was all over anyone. If you talk to anybody about wrestlers, like, why the hell is Jeff Jarrett at this?

Well, he put out this video and it went from you went from wondering why Jeff Jarrett was in the owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament two basically you kind of wanted to see him do well and even win it, you know, And so that video, which I'm not saying he did it for the purpose of, you know, getting sympathy as far as this tournament goes, I think that this video, first and foremost that video that he did actually legitimized the owen Hart Cup farnament. You know, let's face it, owen Hart

died. What twenty five years ago. Yeah, so there are a lot there are a lot of people that were either not alive, would that happen? Or we're ten years old or younger, you know, and didn't really understand how big of a tragedy this was. So that video that Jeff Jarrett did first and foremost brought orwen Hart's you know, legacy to life and probably got people to go back and hey, let me go find out about this

owen Hart guy. You know that may not have known about him. I mean guys like you said that, and I'm sure Nett probably knows a lot about owen Hart. Sutton. I'm sure you do too as well as do I. You know, it was a it was a horrible, horrible thing in wrestling, and it affected a lot of people. And I think that

Jeff Jared's video made it real for people that didn't know or did. It showed how loved he was because Jeff care Jared came o across as genuinely just missing his friend and yeah, you just felt that, right, and what better way to establish hangman at him page is a joker as a huge heel the comment and just beat the ship out of Jeff Jarrett, you know, or went by some kind of a cad did horrible way, you know, because if it is Hangman at a Page, Jeff jareded is not going to

defeat Hangman at a Page, and that is going to be something well, and I think the problem is going to be is now so many people are going to want Jared to win that that might actually make people not so happy that he doesn't, you know what I mean, perfect for a heel. Right before that video, nobody cared if people are like, what the hell is he doing here? Now it's all like, oh, we wanted to win, and you know he's not gonna so it kind of I think it

kind of is. It was a great video. I loved what he had to say, and honestly, back then I wasn't that big of a WWE fan, so I really didn't watch a lot. I knew who he was, I knew about the Blue Blazer, I knew all that stuff, but and I knew about what happened to him. I found out a couple of days later after the pay per view, because I didn't watch ww pay per views like that, so you know, it was I knew who I knew who own heart was because of course he's Brett Hart's brother and and all that

stuff. But I don't know it was a great video. I just think that the I don't know if. I don't know if if if it fit for me with the tournament aspect, because now I think it's gonna put a light on the tournament when he doesn't win, you know, like I think, if you're a babyface and you lose and people wanted you to win, that only helps you. That only makes Jeff Charett more likable in a w and no one wants to actually see Jeff Charett win the tournament, right like

it'd be nice, But it's fifty year old. She said to the Illino. I want him to win everything. I want him to win that I wanted to win the new Japan title w W A title. Realistically, Jeff chair should win to go all in, you know, but it's a feel good story if he does win. But it's a but it's also a feel good story in the opposite and feel bad story because the heel that beats him is just gonna be you know, to borrow a phrase, kazuchika o kada, the person that beats him is a bitch. Yeah, yeah, that's

true that I don't know. I'm emotional about Owen Heart so I but I don't like Jeff Jarrett, So what don't you like about him? Him? He seems very corny to me. I don't know. Something about him is always like Orange Cassidy. What the hell? Well, No, I'm know. I'm not a huge Orange Cassidy fan. I just think in this instance, Orange Cassidy is going to surprise us with the Zach Saber Junior match.

But I don't know. It would be nice to see Jeff Jarrett when in a way as kind of a a nice way to wrap things up for his friend. But I don't know. I think that Hangman is probably the joker, and Hangman is angry with Swerve, and I think that if he comes in as the joker, it's it's a way for him to start his Shenanigans of being a heel and terrorizing everyone. You know what, you know what's

gonna be interesting? That is Remember when Nila Rose, just like last week, had her first match on AWTV in like six months, and she came out and she was the babyface and she got the big pop. It's interesting hearing Jeff Jerrit get a big pop because he's gonna get when he comes out of that tunnel for that match, he is going to get a huge pop. Yeah, he is. It's it's gonna be great. It is, And I hope Doctor Marsh is there, but I yeah, I think if

it is Adam hang Man, it is going to be something else. I also think while we're talking about Forbidden Door, I can't remember the wrestler's name, but he's from New Japan and he and Brian Danielson used to wrestle together many many years ago, and he was also a friend of Owen Hart, and I wish I could remember his name. But I was thinking about it with Forbidden Door that it was also a way to kind of tie in with Forbidden Door if he was there, as long as it's not Minora Suzuki.

No, it's not Sazuki. It's it's some other guy. I can't remember who it is, but he used to wrestle with Danielson a long time ago, and he's from New Japan, Okay, but yeah, I can't think of who he is, and he was buddies with with Owen Hart and Jared and I wish I could remember his name. All of our listeners will put it in the comments. Yeah, somebody, I don't know what you're talking about. I have no idea. Yeah, somebody tell us who it is,

because I I kind of remember. And I think that that would be a nice touch also for the owen Hart Tournament and to tie everything together and forbidden Door. I think it's a lot of sentimental feelings surrounding the tournament and it's it's just nice. I think this is gonna be a good moment for Jeff and his guitar. So we'll see. Oh god, yeah, because like most people there did debut would be when they get their biggest pop when

Jeff here. But I don't think when Jeff Jerriffirst showed up in aw people were like super thrilled. Though, yeah he retired. You know why I don't like Jeff Jarrett because he's fifty whatever years old and he still has the body of a twenty five thirty year old. Unbelievable. It's like Billy Gunn and Jeff Jared. I hate you guys. Okay, you're an embarrassment to all of us. I think they're okay with that. I don't think they're

feelings. They're not hurt. I know, I just you know, I just hadn't have to be said, let's move on because uh MK made a post at the aw fed up subreddit and uh it got a lot of responses, it really did, and it got a lot of passionate responses, and that was about Ring of Honor. So do you guys, does Ring of Honor interest you? And you know, and if it doesn't interest you, you know, some people are saying Ring of Honor should just be like go and don't forget. You know, we got a TV deal coming up,

possibly Max. Maybe they take Ring of Hoter off of Hoter Club and put it on Max. You know, there's all kinds of things that can happen, you know, in the near future as far as with the TV deals and what's included into TV deals and whatnot. But you know, ultimately, I find Ring of Honor pretty interesting. I gotta be honest with you. I subscribe to Honor Club. Uh Do I watch Ring of Water every Thursday

night when it's on. No, I don't, but I do catch the matches, you know, either late Thursday night or even Friday afternoon when I come home from work and stuff. Like that, but I find Ring of Honor matches. I've said this before. One of the things that I love about AW are the younger generation, the kids that are coming up and grow going into wrestling through Ring of Honor and AW, you know, and Ring

of Honor has a lot of that and I enjoy that. Plus, if you like women's wrestling, Ring of Honor relies heavily on women's wrestling, so that's a place to go. And their pay per views are outstanding. I love the wrestling and their pay per views. Even though the matches are not with some would consider marquee matches, they're always good. I mean great,

you know. I just I can't really say enough about how surprisingly good Ring of Honor has been to me. And I'd like this hear what everybody else's thoughts are about Ring of Honor And do you think there's a place for Ring of Honor in this AW centric world of ours? Okay, so I like the concept of RO eight. I don't watch it as much as I probably want to. My biggest problem with R o H is it's it's involved too

much in a w right now. They have way too much crossover. You have you have crossover but not there's a lot less they have, but until they get rid of the Kingdom. That's really all there is though right now. But the thing is with r o H, it's got a history. I think what the problem with r o H was when they closed it down for that short amount of time before Tony bought it. I think that kind of killed r o h's momentum. And now that he brought that that Tony

owns it. I think the problem is that people who are casual fans can't differentiate between the two and they don't get they don't they don't look at r o H as what it was before because r o H has a much deeper history than a W or T n A. So, you know, I think there's a I would like to see them separate it more so that you get it to the point where r o H can get back to the glory that he used to be, right because I mean, think about it.

You've got how many guys on the AW roster worked in r o H before they worked anywhere else and held the title Adam Cole the Bucks. I mean, there's a lot of people on the WWE roster to work the thing before they really made their name anywhere else, and that's the thing. I think that's what's missing in r OH now I see it. I think that they have a lot of younger wrestlers at r o H that are going to be big deals, you know, five years from now. And so so I

mean, I'm gonna be honest with you, Lee Johnson. Uh, he's terrific. He's really, really, really good and you know he's been a jobber at AW but he's really doing well a r o H. And I that's what I want to see. I want to see these people do that. And then of course the biggest thing for r o H is that they've got ian Rickaboni or I we like to call him here, but I mean last week when he they had a Dalton Castle. I think Dalton Castle.

I can't remember who he wrestled, it doesn't matter, but ian Rickabonni when he when Dalton Castle came to the ring and the camera scrolled down and ian Rickabonni said something alluding to the fact that Dalton Castle's package and and at the absolutely what he meant was he wasn't talking about his package, but he was talking about the entire present. But where the camera was when he said it and it was his his uh. His fellow commentator was just like it was

just like an eating Bree moment. You know it was you know it was something. But anyway, what about you, Alex? What is what are your thoughts on Ring of Honor? Do you get a chance to watch it at all? Like you know, I've watched every Ring of Honor pay per view since they've been a part of a w and I agree they've all been like fantastic pay per views, better than they have any right to be.

I don't really watch the weekly show, and I'm not I've subscribed a couple times to Honor Club, but I immediately canceled after the pay per views have been finished because I just don't really have that extra time to always like commit to watching two hours or whatever Ring of Honor shows a week. Yeah, like what I've seen her good, and I feel like maybe it's asking too

much to make people subscribe it, even though it's not too much. But like if you just could have those matches on YouTube and then you're selling the pay per views for maybe more money thirty or forty bucks, and have it every four weeks, like maybe you get more people, you get more eyes on Ring of Honor, probably ten times the amount of people would actually watch the show, and it would probably be a lot better for those wrestlers.

I think Ring of Honor is like a lot better than AW Dark or AW Elevation, But people look on those fondly, and I think it's just because there's a paywall, and it's kind of unfortunate that that's what it is. There's no question for me, the Ring of Honor is better than Dark and Dark Elevation. Yeah, Ingott. One of the things a Ring of Honor does really well is story They really do a lot of storytelling and of Honor.

Where AW is known more for like great matches with storytelling mixed in it's, Ring of Honor is much more even keeled with equal amounts of storytelling and uh and great matches. And you know it's weird, you know, you say that you don't have the time, and I understand that I don't have the time to watch Ring of Honor, but I flip it on and you know, I've watched the entire show and I'm like, damn it, you know, so yeah, and I probably would. I feel like the app

isn't great either. I remember when I have had it, like watching old trying to watch old Ring of Honor pay per views and stuff like. It's been a little flow Like having it on YouTube might be a little bit nicer. It's just a better app. I don't know. Yeah, but I wish I watched it, but I don't think it was part of the Max subscription. Yeah, then you get the added benefit of even if like AW

was part of backs at AW on its library. I think that's one of the biggest things that would sure AW so many more eyes, is just having a library out there to watch. Yeah, easily if you had all the AW pay per views, you have all the Ring of Honor pay per views. Maybe they put compilations of like best Brian Danielson matches from Ring of Honor and stuff like that, that would be great. Well, do that on the Honor Club. They do that on Honor Club where they have special features

on their long but whatever, I'm sorry that go ahead. No, it was I was just thinking that that would be really nice, the best of kind of packages. I tried watching it, subscribing and watching it a couple of times. I just couldn't stick with it, So I think it was the time factor planning out that time to watch it. So yeah, I think if they maybe moved it somewhere else, made it accessible to everyone, then a lot more people would watch it because I do think it's a good

show. I watch a lot of the women's matches on there whenever I can. I've liked a lot of the pay per views that I've seen, So they need to make it a little more see, you know, accessible for everyone across the board. That I think that subscription is is prohibitive to the to the average fan, and that's too bad because it is a good show. So that's my two cents. Well, let's wrap it up here. What do you say? So? I think this is a really interesting talk

that we had tonight. We'll be back tomorrow night with all we talk with our Dynamite review and uh probably going to be talking about some of hopefully new matches set for Forbidden Door. Uh so we'll see you tomorrow night. For the a W fanhob podcast team, this was ignition, This is Kelson, Good night everybody. She took my line I was gonna say, my god, O all right, m such as life, I'm gonna go suck my thumb now, don't forget
