It's Tuesday. You know what that means. It's time for ignish with the aw Fanta podcast team. This is Kelson, this is Alex and for the ninety ninth time in ninety nine months, I'd say we had another update regarding the WBD TV deal with aew WPD sounds dirty when you say it, anyway, I won't. I won't say it exclusively Warner Brothers Discovery WD WBD is
fine. Yeah, so so you know, we we've had a lot of updates that they've signed a deal, that they've agreed to something, but still today even you know, July twenty first was the deadline for exclusive bargaining between AW and Warner Brothers Discovery, who owns TNT and TBS where they have their TV show, and it's been reported from a few sources that they have kind of agreed to a deal, like they don't have the terms worked out,
but they seem to be saying that they have agreed that they will come to a deal. Is my understanding of this news. Yeah, but the fightful Select came out kind of shot that down, but it's the battle of the dirt sheets at this point, who do you believe? Well, we also had that news that well, not even news, it's been seen that they've been uploading AW content to MAX in certain territories, like in Europe, I know, at least France, but they've been uploading kind of the library of
AW events kind of. I gotta be honest with you here, let me interrupt you here, Alex. I looked up like where match is available in Europe, and there's it's places like Finland and Norway and France, et cetera. I went to I I on my own dime. I went to all of those places. Okay, yes, you've never heard of VPN. Well that's what I Yeah, I did VP yeah. And and France is the only one that has it so far that they have changed since yesterday morning.
But France is the only one that has it so far. Okay, But like to me, even if it is just France, they have uploaded all that content, would I would they upload Would they take the time to do that if you know four months from now, AW is no longer going to be part of Does that make any sense? So, like, there's a
lot of there's nothing official obviously, but there's a lot of smoke. To me, so I think we are going to have some deal announced in the maybe not immediate future, but in the next few months, and I think for sure aw sticking with WBD. Yeah. Well, the thing that I've heard the most is that a few months ago WBD made a made an offer I guess to aw NAAWS didn't accept it, but they're negotiating it still.
So yeah, I'm interested to see what happens. Because the other thing that comes to the play of this is that DNT, which of course is owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, did bake a matching offer for part of the NBA package. Yeah, that package. From what I've read on ESPN dot com, that package would put NBA games on Thursday nights and then other games streaming
on Max as well. Though the reason I found that interesting is I'm kind of thinking, Look, if I was Warner Brothers Discovery, one of my main goals were would be to get AW off of Saturday night, specifically with Collision, and put it on another night. But that being said, Thursday is now out the out of the window. You know, it's taken out out of commission because you've got the potential if, if, if the NBA does accept the deal, the offer because NBA has the right to not accept
it. You know, I just thought the Baby Collision moving to Thursday night made sense, Yeah, because that that would be the only other night that they don't have wrestling on that's not Sunday. Because yeah, as Monday and Tuesday and Friday, you has Wednesday and Saturday now and Friday as well.
Yeah, so I guess there's a would make sense. But so that's another thing that I'm interested in to seeing if, because they were testing out a few times, how the three hour block of wrestling go is Rampage can remain a one hour show on Friday nights where they can to combine it into part of Collision or part of Dynamite. I can tell you whether will never use a Thursday NFL football as long as they're part of the they're involved with the
Jaguars, because there's the opportunity that there may be events, may they may have games on Thursday night. Ten you'll never do wrestling on Thursdays. That's a good point too, Yeah, Thursday night football is a big deal. M Yeah. And another thing like that's interesting about the NBA staying with wb D I know, David Dave Meltzer had said something about it kind of being bad for the the money and a potential AW deal if they're sending out one
point eight billion dollars to the NBA. But if if CANT doesn't have the NBA, then what then there's not a whole lot going on on that channel other than you know T like you know, DC movies or whatever they show on that channel. Well. Well, also keep in mind that the NBA brings in I'm not sure that the NBA was profitable profitable for t T or Warner Brothers Discovery, but you know, the best case scenario, the NBA brings in money for the network, and therefore the network can then offer AW
more money. Now, if they're not getting that money in, then maybe they can't offer AW more money. I don't know. It's there's a reason I'm not at a TV executive. Yeah, and also I also heard that NBA deal is bringing games to Max, and I think, yeah, if you have NBA games on Max, you have AW on Max, you have whatever other things they have the rights to, it just makes Max way more interesting product and something that could maybe compete with Netflix and some of these other
things on a longer term than if he was just aw alone. Yeah, I agree with you. Well, we've talked quite a bit. Does anybody else have any I any opinions on on this prospective TV deal ready to go ahead? Even without Basketball and TNT, they still have MLB on TBS and they have hockey on tn T. I'm not I can't say I'm familiar with the ratings off the top of my head, but it's not like without the NBA there's no synergetic advertising for Turner Broadcasting. They still have professional sports,
so right, what doesn't tn T also have original dramas as well? Yes, and they have The Big Bang Theory and Young Childen too. Mh. So if I want if it goes to max, what are you guys wanting out of it? What would you guys be arrested in a w have me? Because I don't think they're going to give up T and T it being on T and T. Are you hoping for pay per views being streamed from there or are you hoping from a backlog? What are you guys wanting?
Well? Yeah, so what you said, you know, I definitely think that having the pay per views being premium live events from now on, we're no really good because more people would be able to see them. The biggest thing to me is the prospect of having the libraries on Max, so people go back and look at the beginning of a w and see what it's all
about, and see how some of these wrestlers had developed. I mean, you could look at wrestlers that have been with DAW for a long time, like Britt Baker and see how they they developed, Sammy Gavara, Sky Blue and Julia Hart, Jack Perry obviously, Darby Allen, you know what I mean. Yeah, and MGF Well, M Jeff really hasn't changed tab much except he's gotten a lot more hitting the spray tad bottle a lot harder, and he's bulked up a little bit. But he's still you know, our
scum bag. Yeah. And to that point, I really want them to like make playlists, like you said, of these different wrestlers and just have an easy way instead of just going back and watching like Rampage one or you know, the first Few Dynamites. That's never a way that I really like to go back and watch old wrestling. If they could have like playlists of best matches and best promos to kind of package that together, I think that makes it a lot funner too, and easier to sit through. Right.
Have you seen the Alex Have you seen the the I guess they're like a mini biographies. I can't remember what they're called. But they've done several wrestlers from AAW on the AW YouTube page where it chronicles their entire career in AAW and you could literally watch every single match that some of these people have been in, including dark matches, you know, and it's actually pretty interesting. No, yeah, I've never I think I've seen it, maybe, but
I haven't actually just sat down and started watching one. That sounds like it'd be really good though, especially if they could put that on there and I can just sit on my TV and just click it on and fall asleep to it type of thing. Yeah, the only one that I know. They've
done like three of them. I know. I know that the one with Julia Hart caught my eye, but they're like even Julia Hart'squad was like two hours long, so I mean, obviously it takes a lot of work to do so, but yeah, but if you go on I don't know if you if anybody here belongs to Honor Club, if you go on to Honor Club. It has the current library, it has the back library of Hotter
Club. You can go on there and you can watch episodes all the way back to the first episode of Honor Club, Ring of Honor, I mean since Tony Kahan took it over and beyond that too. So that's important and I have found myself going back and looking at those. Yeah, I have
watched some of that. And one thing that really bugs me is that you know in Ring of Honor, just like back in the day in ECW, that they use copyrighted music and you know WWE, if you watch some of that old stuff on the WWE network back in the day, like they would at least put music over that, like generic music, but there was something
there. From what I can tell, aw Or Ring of Honor is just taking the music out, so it's just completely silent, Like you think you're TV's broken when Brian Danielson's coming out the final countdown and just nothing his air like playing it all. Yeah. Yeah, Well, it's gonna be interesting over the next few days to see if anything is said about the Warner Brothers,
Discovery and AWTV deal. Although fightful select when they just posted about something a couple hours ago about it. They just basically said that it's really not as imminent as people are thinking it is. But I do believe that AAW is negotiating with Warner Brothers Discovery and not really worrying about anybody else. But let's move on because tomorrow night on AW Dynamite, we've got Blood and Guts, that's the name of the show. Of course, We've got the Blood
and Guts match between Team a W and Team Elite. We've got other matches as well. Is there anything on this card that stands out to you, guys as what are you looking forward to the most? I mean, obviously probably some most of us are going to say the Blood and Guts match between AW and Team Elite, But there are some other interesting matches on this card. Has anything caught your eye besides the Team Elite and Team AW match? And furthermore, who do you like in this match? What do you think
is gonna happen in that in that Blood and Guts match? I'm gonna say and step out. I don't really care about his boot match. I'm not a big fan of it. I don't mind. It was good when it started out, but I'm not a big fan of Mark Brisco and Max Caster and them being in it, I thought they could have picked some better people to be in it because I just I just don't care about their client.
I like Brisco, but I'm just not interested in this match. That's an interesting point because I've seen a lot of people say nobody's really benched Mark Briscow other than you. You know, people seem to be okay. But people don't seem to be okay with Max Caster and Anthony Bowens. Some people were saying FTR would have fit better. Uh, but there could be others too. Are you so the next person that answers are you also? I guess part of the question be are you happy with Tim ad w? I like
the lineup. I don't want to see FTR in that match. They've been in this match a few months ago, you know, they've been in the the the other one that was there, and I get tired of seeing FTR in every match. Did something like this give some other people a chance? You know, having a swerve and his history with the RB and his history with the Elite or the uh uh with yeah, with the Bowens and company, and it's it makes it interesting On Team A W side. I think
it's a good team. I think that I almost hope that they actually give this win to ae W because having Elite the Elite just keep winning kind of makes it useless to have these matches, all right, who has uh?
Who wants to go next? M I think we're being told every week that this is a new era, for the Dynasty era for a W, and I think Swerve Harby Allen obviously has the storyline up with the Elite getting back to revolution Our brisk Co represents Ring of Honors, Swarve represents a W. And then you have the Acclaimed, who are sort of the tag team of the future and you know, maybe gonna win this title soon. So I
think it makes sense. I mean, we're in the Dynasty era. This is swerves AW right now, and this is Swerves team, and it's representative of that, and I think that makes sense. Yeah, and I I agree, Like I like the composition of Team a W. I like Swearve being featured. I like all the guys in the match. It's just that they were kind of thrown together at the last minute, usually at blood of Guts. It's like this team that's an established team versus another established team,
and yeah, there's my history there. Between those five guys, they're kind of all their own people. Well, at least it wasn't Mark Brisco and he claimed Tyler O'Reilly and Roderick Strong and Arge. That would even make a little conglomerate. They conglomerate should have been the other side. It's the conglomeration, not the Congloise, say something stupid saying apologized it was the conglomerate. I forgot thet and blood and guts sells itself just because it's just such a
crazy match, like it can't be bad, it's not. No one's gonna not watch it. Even if the Conglomeration and the Learning Tree were made up team a W. I think even still Kelson would watch this match. Oh no, I wouldn't. Oh no, he wouldn't. It would make him
watch it less was it that he was involved. But you know, beyond the actual blood of Guts match on Collision on Saturday night, we saw a very very unfortunate injury to sky Blue, which it's not been reported that she suffered a broken ankle, which hey, it wasn't a torn ACL and a tour in MCL, you know, but a broken ankle is still a broken ankle, and that could be months, you know, doesn't We don't know the extent of the broken ankle, but she suffered that in the match against
Karushida, and a few moments after the match was over, she'd have cut a really really good promo in my opinion, where she challenged on Dynamite doctor Britt Baker. So we are getting on Dynamite doctor Britt Baker dmb at Hakarushida. And I don't know about you guys, but I think that this is a pretty intriguing match. Yeah. I think it's a huge match because the last time they fought, if I'm not mistaken, was a car. Sheeta losing the title. The Britt Baker I didn't wrestle the last time she held
the belt, nor go ahead the car she'd have. Didn't they wrestle the last time the car should have held the title? Did they? Did they have one a tag? Okay? Or maybe it was a fatal four way? Yeah? Yeah they were yeah, Yeah, that was that was it? All in was the last time I think that they were in the ring together. It was right before Breaker got hurt. Yeah, well, I think but Baker was hurt at all in but she just was soldering on.
This will give Britt a chance to show that she's improved. I'm not holding my breath because, you know, coming back doing a sob story during all this time off. Hopefully she's improved. It will take a lot for her to get better. She was not that impressive in the ring before. Well know, right away, I mean, it ain't gonna be like it'll take the whole match to figure it out. But hopefully she has gotten better because that will add to the different things that is going on right now with her
in Mercedes, and hopefully that it's going to be a good match. Well keep in mind also that it really doesn't matter if you're really good in the ring as long as you've got that are about you. I mean, look, let's not make any bones about it. Hulk Hogan was the most popular wrestler of his time when he was in his prime, and he couldn't wrestle for a ship, you know, I mean so and I don't even want to talk about any Kingston so anyway, I mean that's my take on it.
I honestly in this in this uh Dynamite Tomorrow night. Those are the two matches that stand out to me the rest. I mean, you've got Murder Grandpa against Chris Jericho, which I don't whatever. Are you gonna watch it? Uh? It depends on how it depends on how sadistic I feel tomorrow. That's that's promising. I think most Jericho matches you would say you're not gonna watch ahead of time. So no, that's incorrect. I like Chris Jericho the ring. No, I mean, but the learning tree is
just stupid. Let me put it this way. If it's if it's a freight match, I'll probably watch it. If they do a learning tree segment before it, that's I'm gone. Well, his boys are banned from the ring side, so it would be yeah, great if if he won, But he won't. I didn't mean that he kept around but a little bit and stuff because I am honestly I think it's time for Jerich go to lose that title. I just don't want to go back to Hook if it does.
Uh. I mean he may be here for an excursion, so he may be able to use it quite a bit, but I just don't want to go back to Hook because I think Hook needs to go off and just forget about that title. I agree with that. I mean Hook should't move on to something else I could see. I could see Suzuki winning it tomorrow night and it having something to do not with Hook but with Taz tz getting in both somehow getting the title off with Jericho to clean it back up again
and make it what it once was instead of what it is now. Wow. My dream is for Suzuki to win the title, put it on the announcers and tesk in front of Taz, put a whole bunch of lighter fluid on it, and take Jack Perry's or Darby Alex playthrower and light that sot of a bitch and destroy it and never seen again. It's a ship title, it's a meetingless title. I don't I like Taz, don't get me wrong, but as that title has no business being in aaw get rid of
it. Yeah. I feel like they need to get rid of one title, and if it's that title, so be it. I don't think it wins. Yeah, go ahead, I'm sorry. What are the chances that someone comes out and helps Jericho a new member of the Learning Tree, Oh God forbid. Yeah, I think there's a good chance, But I don't know, it would be maybe private party, you learned a lesson? Ah,
that kind of look. Tony Cotton needs to pay attention to what's being said on the internet about the Learning Tree, and more importantly, they need to look he needs to look at the absolute, complete and utter drop off of gratings when the Learning Tree shows up. They are the single worst thing on aw right now period. It was great to start off, but but I think it's rain of course, I really think that. LOOKI gets it, and and they move on, and maybe Jared I don't. I don't
know. I don't want to see anyone members added to it. I think Jeredo needs to end it and do one of his world Grimers turns and just go go to the different direction on it. Yeah, like I like it. I for me, the worst part about it is Hook and Taz being involved. Ah, but yeah, I have no issues with it. I like it. Uh yeah, Hey, but if somebody else does come out, why couldn't it be Ricky Starks? Oh that'd be terrible, It really would, but it could be. I mean, that's it's the Learning Tree
they thrive on. Terrible. Yeah, Ricky Starks, he only had a very brief time in the Jericho Vortex. He does have history with Big Bill. It's so stupid, it might just work. That's the model of the learning tree. Well, Alex, what do you want to talk about next? Well, I guess yeah we have. Ricky Starks was in the news
recently and it was kind of a dumb article that I read. It was saying that Ricky Starks is hinting he's going to return to wrestling, but he didn't specifically say he was returning to a w So I think it's putting more fuel on that is Ricky Starks leaving aw And why haven't we seen him in many months? Well, I I posted this on our page and I didn't check where it came from. And sports Skita is not exactly known for great journalism, so they're more click baity thing. But look, if he's done,
he's done. I and I I think he'd deflated himself somehow, and he was he was doing great and something happened. I don't know what it was, but he's gonna go to WWE. More power to him. Lots there's been several AW guys who have went there and and had moderate success, So good luck to him. I don't think he's a superstar like some people think he is, but he's definitely adequate. But if he wants to go and join Cody, it is Brandon, go for it. Well, let
me ask you this, let me ask everybody this. I mean, you pay attention to the Internet, you pay attention to what people are talking about on discord or just day to day. It's a striking I've noticed this. Nobody's talking about Ricky Starks. Even when they make these kind of articles about Ricky Starks, nobody's talking about Ricky Starks. Does anybody care about Ricky Starks's look it? I look at him at honestly as a mid quarter at best.
I was never really impressed with him. I mean, you know, he's got a gimmick, is just every day running the milk kind of thing. There's nothing spectacular about what he does. You know, he can talk on the mic, I'll give him that, But other than that, he's just He's just one of those guys that are like, I'm here, but you can miss him and not miss him, you know what i mean. Right when you look at Ricky Starks, do you see it better off at a w as a heel or a babyface. I think you know, his
work his babyface in contrast to NJF was fantastic. I think his feud with Powerhouse Hobs was good for what it was. He's a great heel. He has a passion and an intensity that's palpable and I think collision he can be a great heal. It's just hard when you have championship aspirations to do the job like Ricky Starks has done so many times. So I you know, I wonder what kind of creative he's supposedly been given and he's turned down.
I wonder what it has entailed. Well, look at you know, we've talked about this before, but Ricky Starks is kind of cursed at aw and he's even alluded to this and his promos. I mean, everything that he gets into through no fault of his own falls apart. He had a thing with Sam Punk Seampunk gets released. He had a thing with this guy and that guy got hurt. You know what I mean. He had he started to have a thing with Adam Copeland a little bit at Adam Copeland ripped him
a new asshole in a shoot. Promo looked like to me and Ricky Stark's never covered from that. I mean, Pupeland made a book so bad talking about uh, you know what, do you call him a midget rock wannabe or something like that? That was it. Starks had nothing. M hmmm. Yeah, that was a weird thing because, yeah, he like legitimately upset Adam Copeland, who deems to be one of the nicest guys in the world, at least wrestling. Yeah, but you know, there's certain things
that you don't come out and talk about. Adam Copeland's bug eyes with Adam Copeland is a Hall of Famer veteran, and your Ricky Starks, I don't know. In my mind, if you were to look at the handful of young talent, you'd want to build this company around at least going forward. In my mind, Ricky Starks is one of them. So it just like I would say Jay White Is or MJF or Hangman or In my mind, he's one of those guys because he can talk, because he can work in
the ring, and he's proven those things time and time again. I think he could have been tagged Team Champions with Powerhouse Hobbs, and I just agree. I think he had a chance when he first came in and he and he kind of fizzled, so, you know, but like I said, there's other places for him to go and he could shine somewhere else, but he he faded into the background and it's time of Big Bill. Wasn't bad, but then somehow Big Bill got sucked into Jericho bortex and really started out
shine him. So I don't know where they would put Ricky Starts. To be honest, the problem with Big Bill and Ricky Starks is a Big Bill out shown Ricky Starks. Ricky Starks needs to be a singles wrestler so he can do his own thing and not have his own partner outshine him. That's just my opinion on that. Well, let's move on because we had a little bit of a weird I consider it a weird story. Is that her business from WWE, Bobby lashly Uh was removed from the WWE internal roster.
MVP also was removed from the WWE internal roster, and we know that MVP has had creative differences. I guess with triple H is the best way of putting it. Shelton what's his name, Shelton Benjamin? Is that right? Shelton Benjamin has been a free agent for a long time. He was a part of her business group as well, and under Cedric, Alexander was still with a with WWE. It is wrestled in several dark matches with Chante believe, and the last one being last month I believe it was. But he's
still in the group. But there were reports saying that Bobby Lashley and MVP want to come to AW and restart Hurt Business. Obviously, they won't be able to call it Hurt Business because it is all script firm at w WWE has a trademark for that name, so it'd be something different. But I don't know. I mean, you get a little bit of a different,
different take on this. I posted this on THEAW vanom subreddit and some people are like, sure, why not, And some people are like, the last thing we need is a guy, another guy pushing fifty coming to AW. So what are your thoughts on this? I'm not even sure it's the
age thing. Bobby lastly is one of those guys that they've used him in some weird ass things and and they put him in there and had the whole thing with him in Lana and and and russe v at the time that was that was some crazy ass ship and and her business was okay, I guess, but he's one of those guys that it's another big guy that Aw's got plenty of them that they don't even use. Now. M VP was m v P. I wasn't impressed with him when he was in his prime.
Benjamin I loved, always did think he got misused. He never got given the chance that he should have. If I wish to choose any of those three to come to a W would be Shelle Benjamin. But I don't really see a need for him. I mean, where would you put him, what would you do with him? Well, wasn't it Ricky Starks actually who came on and said, we don't want Shelton Benjamin and a W or I don't want him in a W. Maybe that's a built in feud right there.
Maybe that's what Yeah, yeah, that's true. This is true. Uh, Mike has has the right to do that because he is the best wrestler in the world. Well he's been doing that for everybody who they say pop that handing, So uh, I just I'm not interested in it. I don't think I know. There was a long time ago some beef between Jericho and MVP. Uh. I just don't want the negativity. I don't think we needed They're not I don't. I hate to use the term,
but I don't see them as needle movers as much. Lastly, he has been around about every major company I can think of, and I just don't want us to a w t B just another spot for him to come in and do do some small things and go. I would rather sign younger talent and build them up than I would rather see her hurt Walber. I like Shelton Benjamin. I've been for him coming. Uh. I think Shelton Benjamin could could do the Johnny TV type thing and put over some young talent.
But he's really like like el sentence that I just really he's the only one I really want. M Yeah. I have two thoughts on it. I think, Yeah, you don't want to just keep doing WWE. Also, rans you don't want to just trot out acts that were there. It's kind of yeah, it is like a throwback old WCW thing, just having you know, WWE failed things that you're just showing on your TV show. But
they are, especially Bobby Lashley, he's a freak of nature. And if they're in a position where they are just paired with some younger talent that you're trying to make look good and it's not about them and it's about the younger guys, then I could see it being okay. But I think it's probably best to just say no because of it's just gonna look like you're retreading WWE stuff. Yeah. I think that Sutt made a really good point. Let's face it, of the group, Bobby Lashley is the marquee name, and
he's a big guy. I mean, look at him. I mean he's obviously a big guy. And a w just does not utilize their big guys full effect, I guess, is the best way I can put it. They won't, you know, Hobbs has won the TNT Championship, so as wardlow but very not memorable. I mean, if you're gonna have these big guys, you gotta put them in big situations. Yeah, that's just something that AW doesn't do. Yeah, just like one time, they need to
give one of these big guys just a run where they're killing everyone. They win the world title and they're holding on to it for a while because it just makes sense. Yeah, it's kind of funny because through the history up to ae W, the big guy was what everybody wanted. You wanted that big guy, you wanted that over the top personality. You wanted the bigger, the bigger the guy, the better was Aw's like, nah, we just we'll go with the younger guys or the literal guys that can move around
the ring. And it's totally flipped what wrestling's about, which is good. I like it, but it's just weird because you've got the murder Hawk that doesn't get used at all, you know, just the name one of the fifteen guys they probably had that you could consider a big guy. So I don't see any reason to bring in more big guys that are gonna do nothing for you. I mean, look, they've got Turbo Floyd sitting there and he'st not world champion yet, so there you go. Oh shoot, shoot,
that's not what I wanted to say. But keep it clean, you know, you know, I mean troublet Floyd's the biggest wrestler of all time. Yeah, as far as size and back, they brought back the biggest wrestler of all time. Fuego was back there. You go. He came back for it was an R eighth match. It was a four way match somewhere. Yeah, yeah, he's back. Fuego baby, there you go. Well, Alex, what's next on the agenda? Yeah, we had n JF. I guess he's the next up for AW being sent to CML.
Yeah, does anyone know when that's taking place? August second? CMLL is doing a one night tournament on July twenty seventh, I believe it is, and the winner that tournament gets a shot at Arena Mexico, UH for the AW International Championship. Of course, am JF is babbling there and he's so rageously. I don't know if you saw the hot pub interview. As the only way I can explain it, as he said, he's going down. He's to promote the international AW internationally. He is going down uh and
taking it to the mast morons in Mexico. That's that's his words, not mine. You gotta love NJF. I'm sorry. Yeah, it's just just, oh, you better watch himself. I heard that they throw, you know, certain substances on you in Mexico. And hopefully he doesn't go into the crowd and slap someone's phone under their hands like he's hot to do here. Oh boy, I'll tell you. But MGF has really played this up
because he actually made another thing. Uh. He had like a little bit of a Twitter squabble with Gabe Kid from New Japan Pro Wrestling where Gaye Gabe Kid called basically uh uh MJF a female reproductive part and uh and MGF responded saying, I'm sure my boss is going to make me coming down to come to Japan and wrestling your little indie fed at Russell Dynasty. So there are already planning seeds for that down the line between m JF and Gabe Kid cross
possibly. So that's I mean, this is what we want from the International Championship, Am I right? Yeah? M hmm. Yeah. When was the last time we had an international champion defending a internationally well against the international wrestlers and in aw but you know in the United States or Canada did a bunch when he was the inaugural champion. I think Orange Cassidy defended it in
Rev Pro in England at one point. Yeah, aside from that, and it's definitely been a little while, so I'm I'm really happy mjf's embracing that aspect of the title. Yeah, I mean, look, Mercedes Beronet said it best. Really what she said she does. She wanted to take AW global. This is how you do it. But look, if you're gonna put a AW shows on Max internationally, who's gonna watch it? If nobody
knows or cares? This is how you have to do it. So, by the way, England doesn't have Max from what I understand, so won't be there. So that and Dan's going to the perfect person to do it because he's not really a high liar, so he's going to force these guys to put on different style of match. And you know, he said a lot of stuff in the past about different indeed, as they called him indies
fan, So I think he's a perfect heel to do it. Uh so we'll see where he can go. But there's a whole list of people down there, and see he could he could fight. But it supposed to be the winner of the tournament, is it not? Yeah, a tournament. I don't even remember who. I saw the poster for it, but I don't remember who was in. It's it's a tornado match, right, I don't know what type of match it is. To be honest with you,
I know that there's like six men in the match. I don't know if it's I don't know if it's I don't even think it's a single match. I think it's a It is a tournament. They've been saying it's a tournament, so a single match wouldn't be a tournament, right, Yeah, I think I saw that it was a match, so or sorry that it was a tournament. So I'm imagining a series of matches all taking place in the
same night. Yeah, I know stuck a junior temporario ruggedo. I think a couple of guys that have been in AW already I believe is yes, the Sphinx, I think. I look, you know, I'm proud of myself if I can get one of the syllables right in their names. I'm just a total idiot when it comes to announcing people's names. So but yet, I mean, look, this is a big deal for me, you know, because we finally got an international champion who's going to be going international,
and that's a big deal. I honestly feel that way. I think I think it's important that we seem to be AW seems to be putting everybody in to They've got Mercedes with the uh new Japan title, You've got uh happy Girl in my Brain is dead again, William's got the CMLL title. We need to start going to other places with them. Stop having them all come to ae W all the time. Have him go to these other places. Start spreading it around a little bit, and that way we could do
that. You know, it's kind of odd that that, you know, we seem to they Tony seems to love to get involved in other companies, but he doesn't seem to want to take that next step where he's going out there and promoting those other companies like you would think he would. Yeah, and the hob does that happen. You're gonna let them win? Yeah, and you gotta go and you gotta go to them. I'm sorry, it's
not gonna make I'd be like everybody. I'd be like if if down the road a W and wwe did do a forbidden door thing and everybody wants w W, or if we did something with Noah or something else and everybody comes to ae W. That doesn't get you the exposure you need. You need to spread rha. That's why I'm glad when they said the dynasty is gonna be in New Japan. There's gonna be in Japan. That's gonna be amazing if it works out to the C year anything. You got half of the
time they come here, the next half we go there. It's gonna be huge in Japan for for ae W. But you're right, they got to start spreading it around. But at some point you have to have you have to trust someone internationally to have that tip have a title for a little bit and usually because I don't understand why we can have people's title a titles but yet they can't have ours. And I think that's a little selfish in my
opinion. Oh yeah, it is, and and then and and it and it's Hey, I think they blew the perfect opportunity with the whole minas here Kawa and Tony Storm thing. They should have done it then they could. They had the perfect opportunity, but they could. They could have given it to Minashir Kala and then flipped it over to Tony Storm in Japan two weeks later. We would have been happened the same story as we are right now,
exactly. Actually, you could have took that a little bit further because then you could have really had uh Mariah make a cause meanither the title or whatever. It had a long opportunities. But you don't always get. That's the thing that that that that people like us, that that the coach, the booker, the armchair bookers don't always see though. There's always different things that we don't see that keep us from doing them doing the things we think
they should. Yeah, about a visa issue, you never know. Yeah, Baby Mariah May and Tony Storm don't have visas to go to Japan right now, and that's what prevented it. And but Mina shir cow obviously has no problems getting in the United States, so they still could have done it. Let Mina shir Kawa go to Stardom or New Japan even and defend the aw Women's World Championship and win a couple of matches there, then come back
and lose. You know, It's it's one of those things you've got to take the you've got to take a AAW International and you've got to make it meaningful. You can't just go someplace to have a match that you're going to always win. You've got to make it. You gotta perhap them seed it
out as simple as that, Does anybody actually believe right now? Putting you on the spot, does anybody actually believe that whoever the winner the CMLL tournament is on August second, when MGF goes to Arena Mexico, does anybody believe that he's gonna lose the International championship there? Now, the thing we have to remember is it's sort of twofold. Is one, their companies want their belts on AW television because of the amount of eyes that watch that program every
week. And two for Rena Mexico, it's not really about the it's it's not only about the believability that someone might beat MJF. It's that Jf's advertises being at the show, and he's a really big deal. So you know, for them, it's a box office thing as much as it is anything else. Yeah, And when they had like Blackpool Combat Club come to Reno Mexico, they sold a lot of tickets just off that fact, YEP in America, And then we always compare it to WWE ratings, don't ratings are
spectacular for network television. In the Year of Our Lord twenty twenty four, a lot of companies clamoring to get their titles on aw television. So seven hundred thousand odds people can see it every week. Yeah, that's just seven hundred thousand American people, exactly. They do another one hundred thousand in Canada, they do numbers in the UK, and probably more people are watching on streaming illegally, you know, watching YouTube clips after the fact. So it
is a lot of eyeballs really in the grand scheme of things. Yeah, I mean, but still, you know, I stand by my point and we'll go I'll just go use the minasure kind of thing. Would you rather see Tony Storm against Mina sure Kawa on Dynamite, uh, fighting Tony Storm fighting to get her title back from Mina sure Kala on Dynamite? Or would you rather see world Champion Tony Storm fight lmk, you know, in in a open challenge match or something. I mean, you want to book a
match that's going going to get the eyes on it, you know. So that's that's the point. But look, before we wrap things up, I didn't want to mention a couple of little news stories that popped up. One is that Melissa Santos has been hired by AW as a backstage personality and ring announcer Santos was. She was in TNA for quite a while. She was part of the Loocher Underground TV show where it was very popular there. And he's actually the wife of Brian Cage. So it's nice having another person in
the aw family, an extended family. We got a lot of backstage personalities. Rene the Kent is married to John Moxley. You've got now Melissa Santos married to Brian Cage. You have Alicia Taut who is the girlfriend of MJF. So yeah, I mean you've got a lot of a lot of families. What was that you're breaking up? Isn't one of them? D's daughter? Yeah, stepdaughter? Yeah, and she's dating a big bill. I think they're married now, Okay, yeah, yeah. So it's interesting how
the backstage personalities are all well, not all of them. What about our Katie Aurora, the newer one. Uh, I don't know if she's dating her or in a relationship. It seems like a pre pre requirement. Who are you dating? Uh? Nobody? Okay, Well we can't hire okay, yeah, I mean you don't want to just have nepotism hires. You want to hire people on merit, so hopefully he's good at being a backstage
interviewer. I won't judge her just because, but you know, you can't keep doing it too much because then it starts to look kind of sketchy. All right, So before we go, I want to ask that anybody watch the Hologram mat was good. Oh yeah, that is a good mess. Yeah, I saw clips of it. They brought out Gringo Loco, who is like the greatest guy to take Luca moves in, at least in America, so they had him doing the match. So of course he made everything
look great because you can stand on him. He can spin you around for like, you know, five minutes at a time. Yeah, yeah, I mean, and they I think a Loco has had several matches with Arabiz who is now Hologram, in the past, so they've worked together, and it was important that they had Hologram debut against somebody that he's worked with in the past. The other person that I know of that he worked with in the past is Ray Phoenix, and he was also on the show. But
hey, to say the Hologram was impressive would be an understatement. A lot of people had a lot of positive things to say about Hologram. Let me put it this way. He wasn't a Shockmaster by any means, shape orformance. Now listen, I like this chunk Master made the best entest ever. Yeah that I mean that is all. Most people only get fifteen minutes. He's gotten the Bears for twenty some years now, so very long career. Oh my gosh, ah, who was what's that talk boat? Yeah?
Yeah, John wasn't it? That's yeah? Okay, yeah, yeah, he he's he passed away a few years ago. Uh. I probably at his death, Betty was like, god, thank god. He probably said, I swear because he would have never people are gonna be showing that clip of Shockmaster coming. What would he come through a brick wall wall? They didn't. It was they put like a two by four along the bottom that he didn't see because he had a mask that barely had eye holes, and
he just he just dove right through it. I'll tell you what is just Shockmasters. I think he's still alive. I'm pretty sure Shockmaster's still alive. Yeah he is, Fred Otman. He's sixty seven. He's still going. Oh maybe maybe it's though, right, Yeah, And they should hire him young gosh, they should, they should bring him in for one show. Bring him for one show. Is a shockmaster Darby Allen Coffin, drop him or something before he gets through the you know something mean as part of the
learning tree. Oh god, you know, Like that's the thing with wrestling is even when it's the worst ever, that's still no Remember what's that the gobbledy gooker that had to be the worst thing ever. I don't even tell what that that is? Cook the kid. I love that. Yeah, there was a giant egg and then for Thanksgiving, I guess a giant turkey dressed person came out of it and he was all right, I'm so glad I missed that the Survivors he appeared or something like that. I think it
was. Oh boy, they made and they made, they made that like the biggest thing that was ever gonna happen, And it was a damn Every week it was on, it was like there was interviews done next to it, and then it started happening and it was that big bird and I thought, oh my god, So that like the best that was probably the best sell job ever done. That was try to treat it seriously, beautile days it danced around and stuff, and yeah, well I we're talking about Big
Bird on an aw podcast. We've come full circle. I'll tell you what. Like, Yeah, you hate the learning tree Holston. But one day, twenty years from now, you're going to be looking back reminiscent. Twenty years from now, I plan on be a dead. Let's just face it. I'm a man now. Maybe in your hospital bed here, your family will be around you, and you'll be talking about Chris Jericho. Yeah, they're gonna be like, oh my god, not only is he dying,
he's delirious too. Eddie and Jack will come visit you. Is the Sockbasters still alive? I can see it now. I can see me on my deathbed. You know. It's just like I can't believe Julia Hart's fifty years old. Though this took an interesting turn, Oh jeez, but anyway, when she was only eighteen, Oh my god, but wow, twenty you got to make twenty eight years if you want to. They'll be around when she's fifty. That's the goal. That, that's the goal. I want
to see Julia Hart turned fifty. That I could die in peace, you know, but I want to be buried with a shock Master mask. That's that's I got to put that in my will, not in a shop, but I would. I want to go like next to me, like it fell off, pumped in your arm. Whatever. But anyway, we're gonna wrap this up right now because we're just we get goofy at the end of these podcasts. I'm sorry we do. Uh So anyway, we'll be back
tomorrow night with all the talk where we will review Blood of Gods. I'm kind of looking for I'm hoping that we see some surprises, you know, because the card is just a other than the Blood and Guts match and the hakaras Sheeta and Britt Baker match. There's really nothing that stands out, but they can still be good, you know what I mean. It's just nothing
that stands out like, oh, that's going to be good. And I hope that the Blood and Guts match is actually good because I don't know, somebody said it or it just doesn't have that feel to it this time. I don't know why. I guess it's because they didn't really build a big story going into it, But that doesn't mean it won't be a great match. Last few times, it's been like a blood beewed, and this time
it feels like a man type of thing. I just I just think, you know, besides the hangman's swer dynamic of it, I don't I don't see much into it. So who do you see getting thrown off the top of the cage for each team? For each team the derby of course? Well, yeah, yeah, he's gonna throw himself off because we will. You'll get thrown on Max Caster, maybe pretty teammate w What about on the team Elite. Yeah, it's gotta be Jack, that's true. It would
be cruel if you know, Okay, Kazuchika Okada. I can see him standing out the side of the cage and yelling, bitch, Jesse falls, Oh my god, wow, we will pay you never know it can happen, But we'll find out tomorrow during AW Dynamite, Blood and Guts, and we'll talk about it it on All Lead Talk for the a W Fan podcast team. This is Kelson is Alex. Good night, everybody, maby y'all. Bye, Eddie Kingston, wherever you are. I think he said his beads It
