When Penn Entertainment offloaded Barstool Sports, the suits at the company inevitably exhaled thinking that the long list of PR gaffes were a thing of the past.

However, this weekend, Rece Davis created a problem of “Can’t Lose Parlay” proportions when his off the cuff remark about wagering on ESPN Bet blew up the internet. Is this just a public snafu or is this a matter that could result in regulatory fines? And, with this gaffe and the major betting scandals erupting out of the MLB and NBA, is the industry doing enough as a response?
