Ep 231: 888 'Evokes' change & Flutter suffer losses in the billions

A busy morning saw markets updated with the respective full-year 2023 results of gambling giants Flutter Entertainment and 888 Holdings.

Flutter's revenue is going from strength to strength across most of its markets following a business transformation in 2023. Yet Flutter’s stellar metrics are dragged by corporate losses of $1.2bn. 

Meanwhile, 888 is now undergoing a proposed rebrand to become Evoke, as part of its Value Creation plan, as revenue for the operator improved driven by a shift away from dot com markets.

Once more, 888 posts consecutive year losses of £56m – as all eyes turn to how new CEO, Per Widerström, will turn around corporate performance and value.
