Welcome to the world of Dear Hobbit, the home of Ida the Hobbit and the Crystal Queer Deers. Join Ida, Tyrone and Bartholomew on their journey to discover and understand their identity and watch them deal with their challenges head on. Now let's head straight into Ida's journey. In this episode you'll find Ida and her struggles about her friends going to a coming out party. Let's find out what happens. Ida is having lunch at the Sunnyside Up Cafe.

While waiting on her lunch she is chatting with her friends on Instagram. She comes across a post from her friend Bartholomew which says he has just got to a coming out party. He thanks them for the invitation. Ida has not been invited to a party which makes her feel really upset and left out. Ida decides to give Bartholomew a call. All these posts...oh what's this? A coming out party? How come I wasn't invited to this?

You know what? I'll just call Bartholomew and I'll see if he wants to hang out. Hey Bartholomew. Hey Ida, what's up? Oh did you hear about the coming out party? Oh yeah it's really fun, I'm here right now. Actually I can see Tyrone break dancing in the floor right now. He's hilarious. When are you coming here? Oh um, I wasn't invited. You know, it's fine, I won't come anyway. I don't want to go to a party with all those people. All those people? What do you mean by that?

You know, like, the queers, the gay people, like, why would you want to go to a party with them? Because they're fun? Whatever, you have fun I guess. Okay, I'll guess I'll talk to you later then. Yeah sure. A very angry and upset Ida decides to mess with the coming out party that Bartholomew is at. Ida comes up with the idea to egg the house that the party is held. Ida pays for her lunch and sets out to find some eggs.

Ida leaves the sunny side up cafe and starts walking in the direction of the party. In the distance she spots a supermarket and hands straight in. Uh, a supermarket? They have to have eggs. Now, where's the egg aisle? Ooh aisle five, yeah that's where the eggs are. A stack of 192 eggs, that's gonna be perfect for egging a house. Honestly, perfect number. Now I just need to go check them out. Hopefully it's not too much. Oh my god, did the cashier just speak to me?

I'm minding my own business, why would you speak to me? I can't believe she would make a joke, like, come on. I'm just gonna pay for these and get on with it. Ida walks out of the supermarket with 192 eggs when she's stopped dead in her tracks. Ida is mesmerized by an amazing looking trans guy and gets overwhelmed with feelings of envy towards him. Ida has lost all sense of time but about 30 seconds later Ida realizes that she is staring with her mouth open and gets extremely embarrassed.

Ida is overwhelmed by conflicting feelings of envy and internalized transphobia. Filled with rage, Ida storms off like a maniac, straight to the coming out party. Ida arrives at the house where the coming out party is held and thinks where to throw the first egg. Ida not being able to think clearly just randomly throws them at the house. After throwing many eggs, the people inside of the house come out from the side and Bartholomew notices that it is Ida.

Ida, is that you? What the hell are you doing? I'm throwing eggs at the house Bartholomew. Why are you doing this? Because you're all just a bunch of gays and queers and you shouldn't exist. The group was outraged by the words coming out of Ida's mouth. They decide to curse Ida by turning her into a hobbit. The only way to turn back is to help the queer who have turned into deer at the coming out party with their own coming out journeys.

Ida being overwhelmed by what she has done and the group cursing her becomes too much and she faints. Ida wakes up at home. She looks out the window and sees everyone has turned into a deer. Shocked, she then discovers that her own reflection is a hobbit. Ida does not know what is happening but she has an irresistible feeling of wanting to go outside and find her friends. Thank you so much for listening to The Ida the Hobbit and The Christ of Queer Deers. We hope you enjoyed Ida's journey.

The next episode will feature Tyrone going to an audition for Meet Me When the Sun Shines and finds out that judges can be quite mean. Lastly, Duke Street Community House and Brimbank Youth Services would like to acknowledge that the podcast was created and recorded on the lands of the Wurundjeri and the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

We would also like to acknowledge that land was never ceded and it always was and always will be our original land.
