I See's Daily Game. It's a production of iHeartRadio. What's up to Size Tea? You're listening to The Daily Game, the compilation of motivational quotes I've collected over the years that I found inspiring and helped me through the game of life. Today's quote is something I keep in mind and stay motivated.
I asked my five year old daughter about money yesterday.
She said, you need money to buy food and get cool stuff, so you have to work.
At five years old.
She understands the system that some adults still don't.
You understand.
This is a five year old baby who understands money.
Now.
It started like this. One morning I was getting up from work for Law and Order. I get up at five we start filming sometimes at seven am. How to get up and get myself together and drive to work. All the hair, makeup, all that bullshit. But it starts in the dark. She tells me one morning, Daddy, don't go to work. I'm like Janelle, I have to go to work. She says, why. I said, because I go to work and they give me money, and with the money, I buy you toys. You know what she said, When
do you get home? That equation stuck in that little girl's head that, oh, if I want nice stuff, daddy has to go to work. Another thing Coco and I do with her. She likes to go to Target. She's a kid. She doesn't care what toy. She just wants to get a toy. So we'll go down to toy aisle and you know, she'll pick a toy out and I look at her. I go, you got some money? And she looks at me like what. I go, ask your mommy for some money. If you got some money,
if you've been good, she'll give you some money. Coco will pull out two or three dollars, doesn't matter. Hand it to Chanelle.
Money. You got money, now, okay, let's go.
It doesn't matter what the toy costs, because we're just running a procedure with her. When we get to the counter to buy this stuff, I ask for that money in her handback, like give me the money. She looks at me like, wow, I only had this money for a minute. Give me the money, and then we get the toy. I'm teaching her there's a transaction. Money just doesn't fall from out of the sky. Now, you got adults that don't understand this.
Theory.
They don't work. They don't want to understand it. You have to get it from somewhere. And people always talk to me, Oh, I see you an ultra capitalist. Well guess what a hustler is a super capitalist? All right, this is the game we're in it. I can't change the game, so I gotta play it by the rules that are in place.
At this point.
I said before, I would not care about money if everything in life didn't have a cost. I would love you to explain to me one thing in life that doesn't have a cost. Oh, well, you can go walk in the woods. You need shoes, right to walk in the woods? You walking around there, button naked. How did you get to the woods? You walked there. You drove your car, you drove your bike. Everything has a price unless you are walking around butt asshole naked living outside.
So we have to figure out ways to get money, and we have to go to work. This is the system. Now, I'm not crazy about the system. Hey, I wish I could sit home and everything I ever wanted would pop up in my driveway, and everything I ever wanted would come through the mail and I just live like that.
Wouldn't that be nice? But it's not so I have.
To play the game the way the game is set up during my lifetime.
My daughter is learning.
That at five years old. This has been another Ice cold fact from me, Iced Tea. Listening again tomorrow when I drop some wisdom on your ass.
Till then, stay safe, stay.
Smart, and stay aware that hard work is necessary, like Chanelle says, if you want to get cool stuff.
