You're listening to The Daily Game, a compilation of motivational quotes I've collected over the years that I found inspiring and helped me through the game of life. Happy MLK Day.

Here's a quote from President Abraham Lincoln. I you cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today. This is a real one, because procrastinating and putting things off don't make things go away. This is something I've been trying to teach my son. My son likes to put off things, put off things, and then they just build up and they get worse, and they get worse, and they get worse, and then I get the phone, call Dad, Dad, I'm in this bad situation. This is something that has

been a cue cumulating over six months. Maybe because he knows he can call me and I'll try to help him out. He doesn't mind allowing this to accumulate. But for other people, putting off things does not help the situation. I'm guilty of it. We are all guilty of it. Sometimes I let my personal stuff load up. Warren Buffett said, business is easy. It's the personal things that are hard.

So a lot of times when I'm doing business and I'm gonna work week, I cannot deal with personal things because personal things you care and you have to deal with someone's emotions and their feelings and what they want to talk about. So sometimes I'll let them load up, and I'll say Sunday, I'm gonna handle all these personal calls. On Sunday. I'm gonna sit back. I'm gonna give me a glass of kool aid. I don't drink liquor. I'm

gonna get that. I get out my check book because I know a lot of these problems deal with money, and I will address all these motherfuckers on Sunday. It's definitely hard to act and deal with people's personal stuff and personal things.

Speaker 2

They don't want a quick answer. They want to talk.

Like Coco will tell me, if I get on the phone with my dad, it's going to be two hours, you know, And I can't do that right now. I got to get in the right space so that you're not short with people. But you cannot escape a responsibility, a responsibility at some point you're going to have to deal with it. So Abraham Lincoln said, we cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today, which basically means handle your responsibilities as soon as possible.

Speaker 2

Well, I think, let me dig in deeper. I guess.

Speaker 1

Also what he's saying is problems that are happening with the country. He was a president, was saying that these things are gonna come, so we need to address them now before they come. As a president, you have to think down the road. You have to say, think, well, look, you know the countries and shambles. We have to address these problems of tomorrow today. I can see him coming. I'm the fucking president. Okay, I just had to get presidential for a minute and take it out of my

personal life. But you understand, you cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today. So get on your job today and handle things that no are coming. This has been another ice cold fact from me iced tea. Listening again tomorrow when I drop some wisdom on your ass till then, stay safe, stay smart, and stay knowing that you can't outrun your problems, you might as well

face them today. I sees Daily Gaming. It's a production of iHeart Radio, Final Level Entertainment and Oddity, an Asylum entertainment company.
