I See's Daily Game. It's a production of iHeartRadio. What's Up to SiZ Team. You're listening to The Daily Game, the compilation of motivational quotes I've collected over the years that I've found inspiring and helped me through the game of life. Today's quote comes from an ancient rollment philosopher named Seneca. He's one of the first cats to really reflect on life and people. Seneca said, we are more often frightened than hurt, and we suffer more from imagination

than from reality. How about that. What he's saying is that you know, in our brains we can go through the same pain over and over and over again. We can worry about things and suffer more than the actual thing ever happening. One of my quotes I always said is that worrying is like taking out a loan on a problem that may never happen. You're now spending a lot of energy based around what if, what if, what if? And it may never come. So we're more frightened than hurt.

But like this, you're in a relationship, you spend the whole relationship worrying about your girl leaving you, which means you're frightened but she never does. So you're more frightened than hurt, but you're still in that pain place and you suffer more from your imagination than the reality. Ther

reality is she still right there or he's still right there. Oh, this hits close to home dealing with some of our family members who have friends that are always saying, Oh, he's gonna do this, or she's gonna do that and this, And I'm like, there's no proof, there's no evidence. You are just imagining it because you're reflecting on Oh, well, I'm not up to par I'm not that person I should be. So they're gonna find somebody else, or they're

gonna do this, or they're gonna do that. So you live in this world of perpetual pain, but they haven't even hurt you yet. This is just where your brain is. So there's a lot of deep layers here. Humans. We put up guards as survival technique for the worst possible scenario, which makes sense that there's been some deep trauma in your life. But we also let our imaginations dictate our

reactions rather than the reality of our past. Like I said, this is some very multi level shit, but I like that I'm gonna save one more time on the way out. We are more often frightened than hurt, and we suffer more from imagination than from reality. Nun Less your imagination fuck your life up. This has been another ice cold

fact from me, iced tea. Listening again tomorrow when I drop some wisdom on your ass till then stay, say say smart, and stay knowing that there's often a difference between putting up your guard and worrying about what could happen. I see Daily Gave. It's a production of iHeart Radio, Final Level Entertainment and Oddity, an Asylum entertainment company. The show's executive producer is Noel Brown.
