An often overlooked piece of history foliowing the Second World War, Bikini Atoll had a small yet thriving community which was upended by America's desire to use the Atoll as a nuclear testing site. As you can imagine, the U.S. Military was less than forthcoming about all the details involved in their "relocation"! It's a story we've been told time and again: a powerful nation acts recklessly while those less powerful pay the price, sometimes for generations to come.
