Interviewing Yolanda Gonzalez IG: @yolandagonzalezart

Yolanda is a prolific multimedia Chicana artist based in Los Angeles. In this interview we talk about Yolanda's influences, her creative process and inspiration. She talks about being the quiet introverted kid that eventually found herself through art. We talk about forming a girl band and the importance of healing yourself through passion and creativity. She explains her thought process behind the artwork series Metamorphosis while also mourning the passing of her mom and the emotions that carry with losing a loved one. Yolanda pays tribute to her younger self, the black sheep that dreamt of having a magical life; while also honoring children, and senior citizens that are often times overlooked or not taken seriously. We talk about the importance of giving back to your community and advice she has for anyone pursuing art.
