Round Four!

to take our jobs. No, it's no, it's incredible, and it's just it's the contest itself is going so well and moving right along. And so I was at a convention this last weekend and so many people came up to me and said that they're either entered the contest, or are listening to the contest, or are following what's going on with I hear voices. We just have fans everywhere,

and they're very loyal and it's really really cool. So yeah, I'm super excited to hear all these people coming up and kind of saying like, oh, I here's what I did in my entry or here's man, here's what I should have done. I was so expecting to do more. I got a lot of that. I got a lot of I didn't go full out. I should have gone full out. Um. So there was a lot of feedback though about the contest, and people are really liking it. Oh, I'd love to hear that. You know, cons are a

big reason why the podcast even started. And I think it was that excitement and that passion for the community that really brought us together Will and I to be like, what do we do to service these people? You know on the days that there's tought of con happening. Um, I don't know. That's really I can't wait for my next con, you know, for us to be able to

chat with people about their you know, their auditions. And I'm sure there were some people who were really bummed, but um, you know, it's a competit it's competitive, but this is a really competitive thing. So and last week we were i mean until until like round three. Yeah, we were on the fence. I mean they were, they were going back and forth, duking it out. It was

so good. It was crazy, Like three week create a run for her money, you know, with her first she's not really on podcast much, Chel thinking like, you know, she's just on TikTok now, and it's yeah, she did a great job. But we're we're super excited. We have two new guests coming in today. We are of course talking about these super awesome contests to become the next big voice actor. And once again, as we like to every week, give shout out to everybody who just helped

Absolutely so our

guest today, Can I say the name first? Let's say, let's say he's done first and then and then let's do that. So he's best known as Gorilla Grod on the CW Network drama The Flash. He's in Beast Wars, Transformers as Depth Charge, He's Drags the Destroyer, and various Marvel things. He shock waves as well. I said that wrong, shock Wave and Transformers. You can tell us not a Transformers fan, as a Transformer to do it. He's blitzwing and bumble beeing. Were you and there? Now? My gosh. Yeah,

obviously he's known for his deep growling voice. But like I mean, he's doing so many things, and he's in Dungeons and Dragons, on her among Thieves, he's a voice in that. He's obviously the voice of Grod in The Final Flash a season and yeah, I mean he just completed Transformers, Rise of the Beast. The man is booked and busy. It's David sobelof, yes it is. very cool. So we're going to give you a little a little crash course on what's happening today. Yeah, I listened to Rob Bolson's episode, did you so for the contest? Yes, okay, good. So you are our guest judge for today, and you are going to be helping us pick the character and then giving notes as we bring in our guests. And you know, the winner wins a career, they get to sign with CESD and they're flown out to la and that you worked that out with Paul. That's right, we're

CESD people. So uh yeah, they were very excited. So it's it's totally cool, but we're really excited to have you so excited. I haven't seen you in a long time. David. The convention, I think, yeah, where was it in Atlanta in twenty eighteen? I think? Yes? Wait, no, did we go to Australia together? Did we? Oh? Maybe we did? Yeah, maybe maybe I saw you over there. I was pregnant. I think I was pregnant and I had a little child running with round with me, which was which was

a lot but a fun cone. Is it true that if you're pregnant in Australia you give birth going the opposite direction anyway? No, if you give birth in Australia, you just keep it in your in your pouch in your little Joey pouch. People over there, well, I want to thank you so much for joining us. Today. We have two incredible contestants coming in. We're gonna have Mike from Florida and Tatiana from California that are again we got over four thousand entries for this contest and we

whittled it down very painstakingly to the top sixteen. And this is round round number four. It's around four already of the super awesome contest of picking the Elite eight. So we're very very happy. We're going to be going playing our game. Everybody out there who is just joining us for the first time. The first game we play for this round is a game called by the Numbers and what are we going? What are we gonna be doing is we have four different categories size, what are

you age? And a wacky attribute. And our guest judge today, David Sobelov, will of course be picking random numbers. When he picks the random numbers, that will generate the character

that will then be given to our guests. Now, the guests have been given two lines of dialogue that they actually have had a couple of days or a day, a day and a half to kind of practice with, and then they are given a surprise line at the end that they have not had a chance to see to see how they are on their feet with a cold read. So, David, what we'd like to do is

we'll bring them in. We bring them in one at a time, We talk about him a little bit, what got him into the business, and then we jump into our game. And when we do, we'll have them read it once and then see if any of us have any notes for them, they're read it again, and then we'll do that until the very end when we pick a winner together who will have then go on to fame and riches in the wonderful world. The voice over, so if everybody is ready, and does anybody have any questions?

All right, here we go. Can we please start? I believe we just take people as they come, first come, first serve. And the first person that jumped today was Mike from Florida. Am I correct? Yeah? All right? Hi, Hey Mike, how are you? I'm a real boy? Hi, already right into it. I love to hear this go. Let's go. I am Will and this is Christy and our special guest today is the amazing David Sobolov, who's going to be helping us pick who moves on to the next round. Mike, I mean, this is such an

honor to be here. My goodness. Well, congratulations on making it to the top sixteen. No matter what happens today, this was a huge accomplishment. You should be really, really proud of yourself. I am so I'm just happy to be here that yeah. I mean, we're we're lucky to have found you, you know, I mean, thank you for giving us a great audition, and we're we're excited to kind of throw some things your way today and see

how see how you react. I guess through the paces. Mike, we're going to put you into paces now, just very briefly, what led you to the world of vo What made you want to be a voice over actor? Well, I have been performing my entire life. I have been performing since I was a little kid, and I've been acting and singing and doing all that kind of stuff. But I've always loved cartoons and things like that. I just

never quite knew how to get into it. In fact, a lot of my friends are in the vo business as well, and I just I don't know, man, I just get really weirded out about asking like how do I do that? You know, like so so yeah, I it's something so you think you think the easier route is just winning a national contest. That's what it's like, you know, of all the routes that I should take, I should should listen to vo podcast and cross my fingers that there's a contest. I mean, you're not wrong

so wrong so far? And do you have your you have your two lines? Sure do? All right, Mike, thank you so much. We're gonna be getting back with you. We're going to go meet your fellow contestant for the day and we'll come back and start round one of by the numbers. All right, thank you, thank you so much. Well he jumped right into I gotta respect that definitely. And we're now going to bring in contestant number two, who is Tatiana from California with that name. Hello, Hi, good,

how are you. It's wonderful to be here. Thank you so much for having thank you for coming, and congratulations on making the top sixteen. Thank you very much. So we were just saying, you know, kind of talking to your fellow contestant and of figuring out, you know, making sure that everybody has what they need to get started. You have your lines and all that good kind of stuff ready, Yes, and just very quickly, first of all,

I'm Will. That's Christy, and please meet David Sobelov, who is going to be our guest judge for the day and helping us decide who moves on. But what drew you to the world of vo Why do you want to be a voiceover actor? I've always really love storytelling, and I love how voicing a character can really add like a different dimension to it, and it can really translate it well from between two people and really allow a more true sharing of the emotions and everything that

you want to convey. And I just love how it feels. I love how it makes other people feel. It's a great answer. I couldn't beautifully improve on that answer in any way, shape or form. That's wonderful. That's beautiful. So thank you so much. We take the contestants in the order that they arrived. So we're going to put you in the waiting room right now and do round number one of buy the numbers, and we will be back to you very quickly. Sounds a bit thank you. Well,

that was exciting. They seem really they seem really great. They're really good to go. They both just meet your reaction. Nice pipes right off the bat and really good microphone setups. What do you think, David, m that's so crucial. I don't think people realize they're for starting out. You're being auditioned for your booth and your sound as well as

your performance. Interest. Now we haven't heard that before, and that's I haven't heard either, But that's true if you got the right setup, and you're going to have a leg up already. So that's uh yeah, all right, let us start and bring in Mike from Florida. Here we go. Oh, I'm excited. I am excited to get into this one. All right, Mike. So, as you know, we're going to be playing by the numbers. And by the numbers we have four different categories, size, what are you age? And

a wacky attribute by our guest, David Sobolov. Picking the numbers, he is going to create the character with which you are going to be reading your first line of diet. So David, if you would for me, sir, could you please give me a number between one and six A four? Could you give me a number between one and twelve about ten, could you please give me number one to seven three and finally a number one to eleven seven. Christie got it. I'm getting better at this too because

of the way that we've listed it. You are going to be like a small robot that's ten years old who is hypothermic. A small ten year old hypothermic robot. And if you can take line one please and at your pleasure, can I get oh whoo whoop seriously, like I need a whoop whoop immediately, like it's an emergence rubble. Oh, that's pretty good. I like a little robot. And there, David, you have any notes? Um? That ending was just a

huge for me. I really love that ending. UM aged him up a little bit years old, right, he's a little young for ten okay, you know, and maybe just a little more energy and it's going to be great. Don't lose that end of those? Yeah? Can I get a little something like that? Something? Yeah? I mean, I I groll, Christy, do you have any would you No? No? Absolutely?

I think that he I think David's right. I think um, I think that sounded about eight, whereas I think with ten um, I think it's a little more, a little more grit a little more you know, a little more of the grittiness to the prepubessence of it. So there's just a little bit of that rawness to the voice. And then I think we always try to interpret these directions with our or what is it contestants, right, and we want to make sure that you guys are nailing

every direction. So one of the directions is hypothermic. And so while a robot probably can't feel the cold, I think that it would, Like I love the way right at the end you kind of you've failed, you know, like you you shut down, but I didn't. I didn't. I don't know if there's a way that maybe you can play what do you think will with the hypothermic direction? Again, it all depends on what you know, how you want. It's the joy of an actor is your interpretation of

how you would play that cold. You know, does it speed you up? Does it slow you down? Does it make you stutter? Are you shivering as a robot is? Does the metal get so cold that it's painful? I mean, there's so many different ways to kind of take the character that it's really dealer's choice. David. Maybe the software glitches, you know, when you're cold, do you want to humanize them more or make it more roboty? You know that's

another choice as well. Yeah, I love that. All right, So there are your notes, Mike, So here we go. If you could do it one more time at your pleasure, can I get a whoop whoop? Seriously, I really need a whoop whoop berber immediately, like it's an emergence. You're read very nice. Thank you so much, sir, and we will be coming back to you in a second. Thank you, guys. Thanks. Why I like that? I thought he took the notes well, um, you know, he aged it up, which is one of

the things that David suggested that he do. He added more of kind of a glitch to it. I mean, I think for taking notes he did he did pretty well. What do you think One last thing I would have said if he had another chance, was to make it sort of happier and more fun because it is probably from a comedic show. When I'm teaching, I'm talking to people a lot about what what network things they are on, if it's comedic or if it's serious. Um, you know, if it's comedic. But you start to feel sorry for

it feel sad. Then they might be placed in the wrong wrong way emotionally. Maybe you know. That's that's that's something I remember they taught us in acting class way back quin It was like reading a script. It has a certain song to it that the writers kind of rite, and so the cadence of it, it needs to feel appropriate. And so yeah, if you sometimes you can read a line like this and see that it's I don't know.

I also think I think we make bold choices as actors because when you make the bold choices, when you stand out, and in in this kind of a contest, you want to stand out. So we could and I've always encouraged people during this contest to have as much fun as possible. But I know how nervous they are. Oh yeah, it sounds you definitely feel I can feel the nerves and feel there. That's all. By the way, David, if you ever want to jump in and say, wait a second, gay second, I want to hear one more

and here's how I'll do it. Please please feel free, Please feel free, And then yeah, let's go. Let's bring in our contestant number two. Here, it's bringing Tatiana. Hello, Tatiana, how are you good? How are you? I am? Good? Things? Okay, So here we go. You got line number one, yes I do. Okay, So David, sobelove here is going to pick some numbers for you were You're going to create your character and it's going to be all on you.

So if you would, sir, number between one and six six, and now a number between one and twelve four, and now a number between one and seven six, and now a number between one and eleven three. Christy, if you would please, okay, you are a German sixty year old microscopic racehorse. All right, honey, if you can do that, you are a fan. I'm a fan of yours immediately. Wow, I love that, and I'm sure that's exactly what you were planning on being today when you've joined us. She's like, yes,

I have that one in the bag. Oh of course, yeah, all right, German German sixty year old microscopic. I love that, all right, Tatiana, Line one at your pleasure, colocas a whoop, whoop, I fellow a little roop whoop. Ami. Look it's a remorg. That was really good, Taia. That was David any notes very horsey but when you're doing animation, even if it's a crazy, wacky character, I have to understand every words a little little clarity. Okay, I got the age from that.

I got that there was like a little bit of like a little warble in the voice that lent itself to being a horse, which I really really liked. But I do agree like the way that that sounded was more in the back of your throat. Um, what do you think will um? Yeah? I agree. I think the first thing, you want to make sure that, even if it's crazy, you want to make sure that you understand

all the words um and the other thing. If I were to give you a direction, I would say, if you want to make it more German, it could be more very matter of fact, you know that's it could be a very kind of you know, staccato read if you want it to go that way. But you pick whatever you want. But again, at the end of the day,

make sure we can understand what you're saying. But got the age right away, and got but she is also I forgot completely that she was supposed to be Germany and scopic, which which you know sometimes with the size we can always play I'm sure David knows this. You can play against type. Right. Do you ever get, David, do you ever get cast as something very small and not usually but you know, but what it usually happens

to be used. They'll get an incidental character in an animated series and they just throw something weird at me just to challenge me. So then I'll have to play something small or different and I'll find some weird way to do it for for a moment. But I can attest to that having stood next to him doing Guardians the Galaxy for as long as we did. Uh, there was many a guard that all of us are like,

let's see what happens here. So Tatiana, if you can give us, give it one more shot, and just think about those some of the things we said, and remember if you can really enunciate the words, but take it away at your pleasure, it can. I give a whoop whoop, sorrious loop, I really whoop whoop, immediately like it, somemermorg, that's great, anybody else anything? I heard the German in the front, and I so I know she can do it.

You know, Yeah, I would like to one where you're not so worried about the age because I think the age is causing you to change the voice so that it isn't as clear as it could be. Let me just here. I know this is kind of maybe against the rules, but just don't worry about the age and this just do one more for me, if you would, without worrying about the age. I want to see what happens and double down on the horse because it's very funny.

Got it, No worries? Go ahead, Can I get a whoop? Whoop? Seriously? I really need a whoop whoop immediately, like it's an emergency. Perfect, Thank you very much, and we'll be right back with you. Thank you. See that's what I was waiting for. I was waiting to hear like the can I get a whoop whoop? I needhop immediately? Like her immediately? That was very good. That was very Maybe I forget you know, you are also a director of animation, so see I was like, these are the things I would never know

to pull out of her. I would and if I were directing her, I would give her one more direction of you know, really double down on the German now. And it sounded it could sound more elderly without it being caught in the throat and could up in the higher part of the throat and like, yeah, I thought she had an easier time. And again, but the stuff we're throwing at them is exceptionally diffic I mean crazy difficult. Um, So it's um. You know, sometimes we're getting actors that

are concentrating more on their cadence. Sometimes we're getting the actors that are concentrating more on the accent. Sometimes we're getting more they concentrating on their age. But that's why it's difficult, because we're trying to find somebody that can pull it all together. So all right, cool, We'll let us move on to challenge number two, line number two, and we will go back now to contestant number one,

Mike from Florida. Mike, welcome back. We are moving on to line number two, and David Sobelov once again stir a number between one and six one, and now a number between one and twelve eight, and now a number between one and seven seven, and now a number between one and eleven nine. Christy, if you would you are a giant fish who's ninety five years old and shocked. Giant ninety five year old fish who is shocked. That is it? So Mike at your pleasure, line number two. Please,

people up with the jury. I think I have proven, beyond the shadow of a doubt that my client is guel creak, cel creak, cruelty. Oops. That's the opposite of what I was supposed to do. Your honor, I quit all right, David, any notes speak slower because he's giant.

That will give us a sense of being giant. Um, And I'm going to get you to try something that the other you may not be thinking of, because it's not really even what shocked means maybe in this context, but make shocked being that you're being shocked by an electric Curtis. This is happening. Okay. Oh see, it's all about choice as an actor. Christy anything, No, I don't. I love those I just do what David says. That is our new dw ds. Do what David says. That

is our new motto. Here on I hear voices. So Mike with those notes in mine line number two again, please sir, okay, people of the jury, I think I have proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that my client is guilty, guilty, guilty. Oops, that's the opposite of what I was supposed to do your honor. I quit, thank you very much. Anything else I want to give him to do it one more time? You got it? Giant, slower,

deeper and shocked. Start for the very beginning of what that note is like, make him completely full of electricity and he's trying to talk through being shocked. Okay, and have fun with it? Sure, okay, Yeah, you know we all want you to do great. And whenever you're going to a casting director, they want you to do great. Yeah, they're looking for it, they're looking for you, they want ever they want us to succeed. So yeah, to have some fun with it, slow it down a little bit,

and remember your size. Okay, than give it one more try? Go ahead, all right? People, Oh the churt, I think I have proven, beyond the shadow of a doubt that my client is guilty. Guilty, guilty. Whoops. That's the opposite of what I was supposed to do. Your honor. I quit, Thank you very much, appreciate it, Mike, thank you all right. I yeah, I think he was having a little trouble taking some of the direction that time. Um, and so well, we're gonna have to see what what Tatiana does with

line too. This is close. This is a close one because it's it's with something like this, it can come down to the to the X factors, the intangibles, the conversations in between the lines that we're having with them. Uh, that will allow us to see where to go with this. I want to see these guys tell the story better. I okay, I feel that. I feel that. That's great. I totally I totally understand that. And maybe we can talk with both of them before we start with line

through three. Um, so let's see. Let's bring Tatiana in and see what what Tatiana can do with line number two. Welcome back, Tatiana, Thank you, thank you, and we are going to be moving on to line number two. Sounds good, mister Sobelov Please, sir, a number between one and six three, and now a number between one and twelve six. What's your six six six? Please? Gotch got it? And now a number between one and seven one, and now a

number between one and eleven five. Okay, Wow, you are a medium ground bug who is ancient and just one the lottery. Tatiana is getting it today. All good through the paces Tatiana attitude. That's a good attitude. So you are ancient. That's your age. You're ancient, and you're a ground bug. So what's that like a Rolie polyever kind of bugs worm, whatever you want. You're a bug. You're a bug on the ground that medize medium size. But

you just won the lottery. Okay, you found an apple tatiana at your pleasure line number two, please pop roll of. I have proven a shadow of a but orps. That's an episode of when I was supposed to the latter ACCRPT David any notes, I would say, there's a little technical thing. Turn your game down a bit and turn your put your head a little bit further to the right of the MICROPHONNC. You're popping a lot of peas

technical things. Um again, clarity issues, so whatever is sort of forcing it up into your nose, I would try a different approach, just so we can understand. I think it's your tongue. I think you're doing something with your tongue in your mouth to kind of make a voice, and sometimes that can garble the annunciation that you're going to need. So yeah, if we can try it again, Christy anything, I agree. I think that the tongue is

definitely inhibiting your natural voice, which we love. We love your natural speaking voice, and so yeah, try to try to not use the tongue this time to give us different colors. Got it sounds good? And give it one more time any time, please act your pleasure people of the Jewy. I think I have proven me, on any shadow of a doubt, that my client is guilty. Guilty, guilty. Oops, that's the opposite of what I was supposed to do your honor, I quit. Can you hear how much better

that was because we can understand it? And then why for me? Now? Yeah, I felt like you were a little bug. I loved it too. That was way better. I think anytime you can just rely on your natural ability, natural talent and your regular pipes. There are certain little gimmicking things you can do with you know, holding your your throat or doing something with your tongue, but you

usually don't see that too much in the booth. What you really see in the booth is people that are using kind of just the natural ability that they have. And it was so much better the second time to Tiana, when it was just your natural flow and voice and you're able to concentrate on the acting. That's your that's your butter zone right there. That sounded so much better, so much better, Christy. I agree. I'm really proud of you for making that adjustment. And um, you know, let's

let's see what we got for our next round. I love that so much. And before you go where, David mentioned something earlier that we'd like to say to you that we are also then going to say to contesting number one. What was the note you wanted to give to both of them? David as, I think it's important tell the story, stay in the moment, roach like I'm expanding what I was saying. You treat it like an

on camera performance, so everything around you was happening. You're talking to someone, you're listening and answering, and your humanity will really come out. Then if you stay in the moment and tell the story so perfect, we will see you in a minute for round number three. Thank you, thank you, thank you. All right, it's great that you're giving you these notes. It's so helpful, David, it really is. And let's bring Mike back and give him the same

one before we start. Hey Mike, Hey, Mike, how are you Hey? I'm doing well. So we were talking beforehand and David came up with a great note for both of our contestants today and we just gave it to other contestant, and I'd like him to give it to you as well before we go into round three. David, you got it. Concentrate on telling the story. Stay in the moment. You don't know what happened. Well, you don't

know what's going to happen in the future. If I'm talking to you like this now, you don't know how long I'm going to talk to you. I don't know how long I'm gonna talk to me to you. It's just going to come out of me. And I have an idea and I articulated and the words just come. The character doesn't know he has lines so that they're written out for him. He just exists in the moment. So exist at the moment, tell the story and have fun. Got it and it will come out more than Yeah.

We also get that nerves get the better of you and you're in and out of a waiting room and you kind of did. We totally understand. We get that. But like we were saying before, we want you to succeed. We really do. We're look, we love this every week so we're just looking for somebody that wants to have some fun, enjoy themselves and has the talent. So we know the sixteen that we picked are very talented. We

just want to see what they can do. Now, so we're going into round three where you know, you get a line that you have not read yet to see how you do with some cold readings, and so you'll see it will be in your chat. Can you see it? I can't see it all right, So while you take a moment with that, we're going to have David pick your character once again. David, a number between one and six five, and now a number between one and twelve one, and now a number between one and seven five, and

now a number between one and eleven two. Christie, So it was five one five two correct? Correct? Okay, so you are a tiny dog who's thirty years old and Scottish. Oh that's a good one. Oh boy, Scottish, tiny dog. Okay. Um, at this time, Robbo ke, I your seriously table more but time person look up your phone, Cheels, How does he even affect this number? David talked to someone on the throne. How did you even get this number? Like imagine the person there, I was saying before. It's an

on camera performance. It's like you're just acting the scene. And I would drop the voiceprint and try again with just your natural voice. Okay, remember and Scottish and Scottish, So if you can do the Scottish accent, if not, maybe just a lilt here or there. Some people can't do accents. That's that's perfectly acceptable. There's an accent trick if you think you can think of any phrase that

gets you into the accent. Frosted, lucky charms, their magic, the delicious, you know something that just gives you a hint of it. Yeah, did you see Braveheart? That's Irish but not freedom. You know, when you hear it, you think of one line from from back there you use that perfect use that perfect a long accent. Yeah, and I would keep it. I would keep it more in your natural register than going up into kind of the falsetto as well. Yeah. Yeah, and we love your voice.

We actually came against a similar thing with another contestant. I won't say when or who, but it's like, we love your voice the way that it sounds naturally. So sometimes when we affect our voice, it actually does us a disservice, and what did you say, David, You said something similar. The one word that you just said, donkey had so much more life and fun in it that I've heard in the performance. Go into whatever mode that was that made you say that, and jump right in

and go the second. The second you hopped on the feed, the first thing you said was I'm a real boy, and it was the most natural, excited moment that you've had since you've been on here. And then you kind of got into now, I need to act audition mode, and we want you to go back to that original jumping on, having fun, talking to your friends, doing funny voices for them, making them laugh, that natural kind of sound. Do that just with the words we're giving you and

see what happens there. Does that make sense? Yeah? All right, So if you have to start by going by the way, I have perfect example Johnny DiMaggio. Johnny DiMaggio is one of the best voiceover actors out there, and we were doing Kim Possible for years. He was doing so many different roles that he always when he'd sit down in the booth to start Kim Possible, he'd have to go she go because by saying that one word, that one name, he got right back into the character again and he

knew the voice he was going to do. So if saying don't care before you do it is going to get you into it. Feel free, all right, all right, so at your pleasure, don't carry at the tone the time will be Wait, are you seriously calling me time person? Look at your phone? Jeez, how did you even get this number? Definitely better David at the end, when you knew that it was going to end and you stopped

trying as hard, it was the best. And when you said, donkey, you know what I'd like you to do, just right now? What are the first three words of this line that you've been given at the at the tone the time will be, So say donkey in the donkey voice, and then with the same energy, just keep going, just particularly the donkey. Just just the first few words there for me, if you could, of course, don't okay at the tone the time will be. See you've got the energy still

say it stays there? All right, Thank you so much. Michae will be right back with thank you. You're welcome so so far, and just to kind of get this out there, I think I think she's the more natural actor of the two so far. I also like how sense she especially that last round, really took the note she did and made a huge difference when when she took the note. I think he was struggling a little bit with kind of getting more into the acting side of it. I think his nerves are getting the better

of him today. I don't disagree with you. I don't disagree with you. And and that's one of the things we have to deal with, is that the fact that sometimes you're going to be getting lots of notes, and especially you know, I mean, David, you know this better than anybody. We'll be sitting in a booth and you'll go in there and you'll have auditioned one way, and you'll get in there and they'll go, no, the person you're standing next to you, guys, now sound too similar.

So you need to change your entire character and you gotta do it. So yes, so yeah, yeah, exactly, say yes and figure it out. Uh So. So that's that's important, to be able to think on your feet. So let's go back to Tatiana and see what Tatiana can do with line number three. Hey, Tatiana, how are you good. How are you good? Thank you? So we are going to line number three, which you know is the super secret line that you have not yet. So can you see have not yet have not gotten a secret line

in the super awes? Have you? Can you see it there in your chat? Yes? I can? Okay, perfect, So while you familiarize a little bit yourself at it's like all of a sudden, the words of stuff, while you familiarize yourself with the line a little bit. That's the order they're supposed to go in for the language I'm speaking. Why don't we have David pick a character for you?

David again for one last time. A number between one and six two, and now a number between one and twelve two, and now a number between one and eleven four and now a number between one and what was the last one? One? And no, that's it, that's eleven eleven. Sorry, one to eleven. That's the last one I met. Thanks. Yikes, So we are two two four two four. I confused myself. There there we go. It's okay, it's a little two two four to six. I got this, okay, you are

you are a big chat who's fifteen years old? And the and the love of your life just left. Oh I like this one for you, tats yata, Okay, I do too, And remember as much as you can, keep it in that natural register and just centrate, as David said, concentrate. I'm telling the story at your pleasure. Yeah, you just I mean, by the way, you have a story. You the love of your life just left. So that's a lot of meaning behind the line. But that's just that's just my two cents one. Oh, I love it all.

Go ahead at the tone, the time will be Wait, are you seriously calling the time person? Look at your phone? Geez, how did you even get this number? That's great, David. You want to take the note from the very beginning of the speech, So the love of your life has left you, not just at the end of the speech, but at the beginning too. You do a teeny little emotional preparation which you won't get too much into here, but just take a moment to think of something in

your life. Never reveal this to anyone. It's private, something in your life, someone in your life that you might love so much if they went away you would feel sad. So something that makes you ad and start that way and play it all the way through. However, remember that it's comedy and you want to kind of play the real thing, but then maybe over exaggerated to make it funny. Does that make sense? Yes? All right, Christy, do you have anything I don't really? I love I love David's

directions in general. But yeah, don't be Yeah, don't be afraid to just go make some big choices. Yeah, make some bold choices. Absolutely. I think one of the things you can do, if I was to give you a note, I would say, if you wanted to find a place in the speech at some point to do a quick breakdown and then pull it back together to remember, wait, this is my job. You could be you could find you could find comedy where you didn't even think there was any Okay, So if why don't you give it

a try? That's again, that is my opinion. That is you do with is your performance. You do with it as you wish, but at your pleasure, give it another try. At the tone the time will be Wait, are you seriously still calling the time person? Look at your phone? Jeez, how do you even get this number? Good? Great? What do you think, David? There is sadness all the way through? I mean we're giving you so many notes and so many levels. It's very many captured sad beautifully. I was

feeling for you. I was too. I could also see an animated cat. I could also see fifteen years old. Yeah, absolutely, I thought you took those notes. Great. So we'll be back with you in a minute. Thank you so much, so much. All right, let's talk about this great I'm just gonna say, I think she's got the more, the more potential between the two Um. I think she does. We don't really totally know about Mike. It was nerves today, but we saw what we saw and we have to

go on. It's touchy on all the way from me. I don't disagree Christy, Yeah, I I do. I think she has a lot of range. And and the other thing too about the contest, right, it's not really about whether or not they're good or not, or whether they could grow to become really great, you know, voice artists.

I think it's more or less you know where they're at right now today, Like David was just saying, and this is what we saw, you know, I mean he we already said he has the leg up um and that you know, he has friends who are in this and now he's had this experience and he has a has a really decent mic setup for him to you know, continue playing around um and if he wants it, you know, he can, he can continue. But I'm not. I don't want to say I hate this part, David to go

on and tell him again, avoiding it again. It's like any of us as actors. It's what you do on the day, and some days you're going to have off days, and some days you're going to be nervous, and some days you just it's just not going to be there. He could wake up tomorrow and be like, oh, I can't believe that was the day that I had, And

that's unfortunate that that's just the way it works sometimes. UM. I'm imagining him front him in front of Lisa Schaeffer, who was our director on Galaxy, and we love Lisa. Lisa would not have time to teach him how to act or to direct him in a way to bring the performance out of him. She once results immediately, and that's right. We have to see something right, and I

frankly saw from the beginning. This is the other thing that we're trying to find from the beginning of the day, let's call it the day to day to the end of the day. I thought she took the direction better. I thought she made the most adjustments. I really liked that last read where she was sad the whole way through. I thought the natural timbre of her voice was nice, and I thought it kind of matched what we were talking about. So I think the I think she clearly

won today. Okay, I agree, all right, So let's why don't we bring in Mike first and do the horrible part which we all hate. Yeah, it's not fun. Hey Mike, how are you. I'm doing all right. How are you? We're good. Thanks. We want to thank you so much for joining us and congratulating you again on being making the top sixteen. Thank you so much. We just think today, unfortunately your your contestant, your fellow contestant did a little bit better than you today with taking the some of

the notes. But that is not to say that you should not continue on this journey because you made it this far, and you made it this far for a reason, So I would keep absolutely keep going. It's just practice, practice, practice, and finding a coach that you can connect with who can really make these performances sort of live in the moment. As Meiser said, acting is living truthfully under given imaginary circumstances.

I would say, find your way toward imagining those imagure, getting those imaginary circumstances more subtly in your head before you jump into the performance. Okay, Yeah, I think getting to know your instruments truly important and what you know, what you can do, what you might have to interpret so that you can pull it off. Kind of thing like when we gave you when we gave you the

Scottish thing. I find that really interesting because you know, sometimes, like he said, there's trigger words that can get you to lock into something. And I think if you know your instrument more and more with coaching, you really might unlock so much potential in everything that we've heard from before and moving forward. Yeah, okay, but thank you so much for joining us, and really no joke, keep going. We said to the top sixteen that we picked, we

really believe could all be signed. You just got to you know, keep working at it and working at it, and we think he got some serious potential. Well, thank you so much. The better it was and the better it sounded. So I think the more you can do in that range, because again huge potential coming in and saying, hey, I can

do young young people voices. I can do teenage voices. Um, they're all very natural, they all sound very wonderful like that kind of stuff that's huge, the super charactery stuff. Some people can't do it myself, including I can't. I can't do fifty voices. I just am not that that actor. UM. So I would concentrate more on doing those kind of voices and working on the acting aspect of voice actor um and uh and going from there so uh, you know,

improv things like that. Moving forward, I think you're going to be very helpful for you, David. You have any overall notes for touch down, just trust yourself. Um, You've got a great personality and great instincts. Um, don't try to say I have to do this voice so it'll sound the way I wanted to sound. Just live in the moment and act seeing play rather than a voice the voices basing on the cake. Okay, Pat Tanny, you

did great. I think, like I even said to the person that didn't make it, you know, getting to know your your instrument, and especially as female, like what your voice is able to do without affecting it Like that, I think we're we're in love with your natural voice, which I think is a competitive edge, um, just in the just in the competition as a whole, because you're female. We don't so far, we've only seen one or two I think females and two. I think we're two and

two now think we're even. I think what we made sure you know, it's like that. Actually it's just how it ended up. But no, it just ended up that way. We didn't try that. Ye remember that. I was like

wait wait, but it did end up that way. So I just think though that like speaking as as a female, it's like understanding what you can do more and and maybe just testing yourself between now and the next time we see you with you know, voices you might hear in commercials and in radios and like, oh I can do that, Oh I can do that, Like start to really have conversations with yourself and just speak in these

different voices. So that and just with what we did today, you know, we really threw a lot of different things, different accents and ages, and sizes, so just experiment with that.
