Stars Hollow Style: Hello! Pajamas! (Season 1 E15 "Christopher Returns")

one of Loven Productions, all that good stuff. We go through Gilmore Girls episode by episode and we talk about the clothes. Okay, we talk about the fashions, we talk about the accessories, the shoes, Oh my god, the shoes. So many great and crazy things that people wear on Gilmore Girls, and we talk about it all. It's so fun. We're having so much fun here. And this is what we're doing this week. Okay, we're talking about season one,

episode fifteen, Christopher returns. Remember this. Oh, it's an emotional episode. Lots of stuff happens, but we're not going to talk about that. No, we're going to talk about the clothes. We're talking about the fashions and there's a lot to get into here. Okay, so here's what we do here. I'm going to break down the format of this show we go through. I'm just going to go through scene by scene. I just watched this episode. I'm going to go through all the outfits that jumped out at me,

and we're going to talk about them. Maybe I'll tell you where you can get some of this stuff. So get a pen and paper, handy, and then at the end of the episode, we're going to go through our favorites and our least favorites. That sound good. Okay, here's what we're doing. Let's start here the cold open. I didn't see anything of note, nothing's jumped out at me and the cold open. And if I'm wrong about something, if I missed the mark, go on our instagram. It's

at I Am all in podcast. Let me know what I screwed up? What did I miss? I'm not very good at this, you guys, so I need your help to tell me what I'm doing wrong. But as we see the intro to the episode, the theme song, and then we get into a softball game. This was fun. I think a Scott Patterson our fearless leader who plays Luke. He played pro baseball, so anytime I get to see him with a glove on out in the outfield hitting a ball, it's very exciting. The softball attire here is fun.

Dean is wearing an unzipped like forest green hoodie. He's got a softball tea on. He has a letter G on that T. What does that mean? Does it stand for Gilmore? I hope so? And Luke is wearing a maroon T shirt over his usual thermal, his long sleeve thermal, and he's wearing some dirty sweatpants. It looks really cool. I liked it. I like this a lot. Lorelei is kind of wearing these, like this frumpy sweatshirt. She's got jeans with flaps on the pockets. Great look from from

Rory here. But the guys are looking awesome, looking so sharp. Now we're going to the inn, uh and lorale and Socki are talking in the kitchen. Lauralei is wearing you know. So we've talked a lot about Lorelei's work attire and I am I have not been a fan of it, but in the last like two or three episodes, I've really it's been some of my favorites. I love what she wears to work. This is no different she I like crawfit. Here she's wearing a white like turtleneck sweater.

It's really nice. It's very classy. She has this like silver Paisley headband, which normally I don't love. I don't share Laurele's passion for Paisley, but this headband I like. I think it looks really nice. It's just this is a great look here. And then later on Rory, so Christopher has come to town. This is the first time we meet Christopher, Rory's dad. He is he's getting a no Stars hollow. He's thinking about sticking around for a while.

Rory is like kind of parading him around town. They run into older friends and they go into the bookstore, and there's some cool looks here that I want to highlight. Andrew, the guy who runs the bookstores, is wearing this cool like earth toned striped turtleneck with a really thick collar. It's folded over, it's really wide. It looks so cozy. And then Jackson's wearing this red flannel coat. He's got a tight ice shirt under his Overall it's a very cool,

like farmer. Look, he's got that neat beanie, that short, shallow beanie. Just cool vibes here. Then, as Rory and Christopher leave the bookstore, there's an extra that I have to point out here. I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed with his extra. She's walking behind Rory and Christopher. They're talking about how he couldn't get her the book, they couldn't get her

the dictionary. But this extra. She's got dark hair, she's wearing these like Cati sunglasses, a black leather jacket for a black and gray stripe turtleneck sweater, these blue gloves, and then a small black leather purse and a black skirt. She's got like black and gray everything except for the blue gloves. I love this diva. I love her so much. I rewound this like two or three times. I just

love this vibe. I thought she was so cool, and the blue gloves with everything else is like black and dreary. I just thought it was it was neat. It was a cool choice. I love that extra. So next we're going to this dinner with Christopher's parents. Oh man, things get so tense here, Things get so tense. But Laura la I like her outfit here for this dinner. She's wearing. When she shows up, she's wearing her gray coat, but when you know, she takes that off once they get inside.

She's wearing a black keyhole top with like red trim and then this like red I want to say it's silk looking. I'm not sure if it's silk, but it's a red skirt adorned with gold dragons and these tall leather boots. Uh, it's cool. I like this look. I like this a lot. Emily, of course, wearing another great outfit. She's got a navy jacket, a diamond brooch, these like really cool kind of like these buttons that look like like almost like their opals or something. It's like a

cool shiny button. Emily always looks good. We talk about this all the time. She always looks good. Uh. But and then Christopher's just wearing He's wearing a suit and a tie. He looks nice, but nothing nothing to write home about. Uh. The next morning, Uh, after Laura and Christopher have their little roll in the hay, Uh, we got to talk about Laura Lee's pajamas. Okay, she is wearing I love lucy pajamas. I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw these. I was just stunned. They

were so cool. These are I love these They're so neat and and got the great line from Laura Lay, hello pajamas when they talking about it, I love Lucy these pajamas. If you're not a Lucy head, first of all, what is wrong with you? If you love Gilmore girls, You're gonna love I Love Lucy. I promise you. It's so good. It's one of the first shows I like, really fell in love with as a child. So I love I Love Lucy. Anytime I get to talk about it is so fun. The pajamas Loreley's wearing. They are

scenes from a nineteen fifty two episode. It's called job Switching. And I mean, even if you know nothing about I Love Lucy, you know this episode that just by cultural osmosis, this is Lucy is working at a chocolate factory and she can't keep up with the conveyor belt and she has to start eating the chocolate and putting it in her shirt. And it's very funny. It's a very funny scene.

It's kind of like the I Love Lucy scene. I think if anyone pulls something it's it's either Vita meat of vegemin or it's or it's Lucy in the in the chocolate factory, so At loyal lized pajamas. It's it's like kind of it's like pink, and they've got this cool like the conveyor belt for the chocolate's going all around it and you get to see Lucy freaking out. It's Lucy logos on it. It's very fun. I hunted these down. Okay, you can thank me later, but I

hunted these pajamas down. I have all the details. So again, get that pen and paper out, start writing these down. These are made by a company called Nick and Nora, not the Nick and Nora from the Infinite Playlist. Okay, this is a different Nick and Nora. There are a couple of these on eBay. One is used and kind of rough looking. It's going for one hundred and fifty bucks. The other one is new with tags NWT. In eBay speak, they're asking for five hundred and seventy five dollars or

best offer. I don't know how badly you want to reenact Loreli in this particular moment, but it's gonna cost you a pretty penny if you want the new ones. It breaks my heart because I did find a website that's that revealed that the original I think new they sold for ninety bucks from like the Isle of Lucy store. They're no longer on there. That was from twenty eighteen. I saw this posting and they're no longer there. I'm very sorry. I was only able to find them on eBay,

but again, they're made by Nick and Nora. That the Isle of Lucy pajamas from the episode job Switching. Loved him, so you know the rest of the episode, she hangs out, she meets Luke and they're painting the coffee shop. He's wearing a cool like puffer vest. We're getting into Luke is wearing the same thing pretty much every time, and we love it, but it is it's you know, there's not a lot of variety there. So looking back at the episode, let's do our final thoughts here, what's our

what do we love? What do we hate? Let's do our least favorite first. We always like to lead with hate, So what was our least favorite outfit? I think it's I think it's gonna be let's see, you know, I do this on the fly. You guys, I'm figuring this out as we go. You're coming along with me on this journey. I say, my least favorite outfit in this episode is Rory's softball outfit. I don't like the jeans with the flaps on the pockets. We'll just say that,

I don't like those. There's so many other outfits that I liked in this episode, though, it's so hard to pick a favorite. I think it's got to be Lorelei's what she was to dinner was Christopher's parents. I liked it. I liked the red silk skirt with the gold dragons. I liked the black keyhole top with the red trim.
