Bernard Fox. Kirk saying Doctor Bombay was an influence on him a womanizer, but ironically, Kirk is not a ladies man. Serena is played by I know, right, Elizabeth Montgomery, the delightful Elizabeth Montgomery, who also portrayed Samantha Stevens. I mean, really one of the iconic roles in the history of television because she was so perfect for that character y as, she did it with such ease, and it was like

if anybody was born to play a role. Elizabeth Montgomery's interpretation of that character was just I mean, it's got to be up there in the top five of all time leads in TV series. I mean, it was just seamless, all right. Moving on Rory asking why Laurela and Jason didn't tell Emily and Richard they were dating before they found out from Floyd, Jason's father. Laurela, Oh, come on, you know why we were going to tell them when the time was right. Of course, I had no idea.

We were dealing with the Carrington's. All. We needed swimming pool and some ballgowns and really in the evening, right. The Carringtons are a wealthy family from the TV series Dynasty that was on from nineteen eighty one to nineteen eighty nine. Gosh, I didn't realize it was on that long. That's a good long run, man. And what wasn't the Carrington's? I mean there was Dallas and then there was the Carrington's. Was the Carringtons or Falcon Crest? Wasn't that at all

like the same stuff? You guys don't know? I saw your eyes blazing over. I'm like, I don't know. Laurel is referring to the Carringtons because they are known to fight and not get along, saying, now Emily and Richard are not getting along. Was the Carrington's a spin off from Falcon Crest or Dallas? Or? Oh my god? How

So this one, though, was sort of in reference to the fight that Joan Collins had in my opinions with Linda Evans. And at one point I think there was like state worries. There was mud slinging, there was they were tossed in a pool like it was drussed mattic because Alexis Colby, Alexis Carrington, Colby Devereaux, she had like a million husbands, was married

to Blake, but now Crystal's married to Blake. Gosh, all right, well wow, um you just know that off the top of your head like that. Yeah, I mean I've never seen it, but wow. Okay, all right, Uh you must have read all the books. Lane trying to have a band meeting about her first gig. Lane, Okay, fine, I'm going to decide the setlist without you. Hmm. You know what that makes me think of? It makes me think that Punked wasn't out yet, because that would have been a better. I thought I was being punked punked. I think Punks was around the time that probably this season was airing, so they probably wouldn't have been a reference yet, Like,

no one saying like you've been punked. Although I am looking at the Oscars like, you know who's host in the past, it is all Billy Crystal would be Goldberg? Isn't there too a few times? But Billy Crystal is holding They had they used they used to have comedians who were funny. Is Steve Martin right? Oh? I don't know. The Oscars used to be a really um, you know, rollicking good time. It was funny. They were funny. Okay,

So same scene, Jason telling Laurela about being ousted by Richard. Jason, Uh, we're all the financial washups. Wash up, It's going to be me and the Enron boys smoking cigars with our ankle cuffs beep quietly in the background. I think he was talking about Houston, which is not terribly fair, but what the heck funny joke? Jason is referring to the Enron scandal, where fake account holdings and off the book's practices and secret debts and toxic assets led to its downfall.

You know, we were in Colorado one winter and ken Ley, the CEO of Enron, walked out of the hotel and he had these and it was right before he died, and he had these holes in his shoes. And I just remember thinking, this guy must have lost everything because he can't even afford good shoes anymore, because he had these old holy shoes. It was very strange. Anyway, Jason said he's going to be a financial washup like Enron executives Ken Lay, Jeffrey Skilling, and Andrew Fausto. Uh, they

were nicknamed and run boys during the scandal. Boy, those guys, Laurel and Rory are rushed out and leave Emily and Richard feeling awkward from the Friday night dinner. And notice something is off about Emily and Richard. Laurela, Jack Nicholson and Angelina Jolie just kicked us out with parting gifts. Uh, we know who Jack Nicholson and Angelina Jolie are, but why is Laureli referring to them together? Did they? Yeah,

I'm going out. I did some research and there's a Reddit thread that says she's referencing the actors in relation to their roles as mental institution institution patients, right, and juliean girl interrupted, So they're just a little cuckoo's nest. And then Angelina Jolie and uh what was that name? Girl interrupted? Interted with great performances. Lane's band is performing a cover of time Bomb by Ranson. Time Bomb was released by Ranson in nineteen ninety five from the album
