I am all in. That's you. I am all in with Scott Patterson and I Hurt Radio podcast Everybody, Scott Patterson, I'm all in Podcast one Productions. I heard Radio. I'm joined by Amy Sugarman and Danielle Romo is standing by. Uh. We are going to do some pop culture on season four, episode thirteen, Naami is where they found the Nasty Gospel. We should give a quick shout out to Tara. She's got a tiny bit of food poisoning everybody. That's right,

it's Tara. It's Tara sued she can join us. She's got some food poisoning and couldnot at this moment anyway, okay, or I we gotta stranger in our house. Rory Robert Downey Junor Robert Downey Jr. Is an African producer, most known for his role as Iron Man and in the eighties as a member of the Brat Pack. Uh did you know? Through twenty three and main tracking passed through Related Individuals Database. Harry Connick Jr. Robert Downey Jr. And Barbara Walters are all first of all super crazy that

they were cousins. But this that joke is in reference. I think that happened where Robert Downey Jr. During his like bad time, ended up in someone's house. You know, I have a personal story of of Robert Downey Jr. I was actually I wrote and was directing a very tiny, little small film up on Mount Olympus in Hollywood, and I was staying with friends. I was in from New York and this was I don't know, the early nineties, and uh, in the it was called it was about

a man's obsession with his yellow Volkswagen UM. And Robert Downey Junior walked by and he said, hey, guys, how you don't And you know, back then he was Robert Downey Jr. He wasn't unknown. He was a famous actor. And he stopped by and he chatted us up a little bit, and I finally made I made the move. I was very bold back then. I said, listen, uh, we don't have a lot of money between us, but can you just sort of appear in our film? Please? No, no way, We'd like to get some distribution. And he

said he just smiled. He was cool. He was cool as the rule man. He said, I'd do it. My agent would kill me. So there is a story. I'll be fast I saw the other day of a god a movie where they were filming and they bumped into Dustin Hoffman and they convinced him to be in the movie. No makeup, just whatever he's wearing. But a little bit of information. This joke in The Gilmore Girls is in reference to Downey had wandered into the home of his

neighbor's Bill and Lisa Curtis. They lived seventeen houses south of Downey on broad Beach Road, a quiet too Lane street, and I had forgotten about this. He passed out in their house and like they called the cops on him because they didn't and it was a snow who prior to this episode, you know, when they filmed it, but

it was obviously like in the Zeit Guy. So because it was such a different Robert Downey Jr. Then when you're watching it now, you're like, Robert Downey Jr. Is for an iron man and one of the biggest movie stars. Like that's a major I don't know, I think he was. Yeah, Lane is still complaining about being cold in her house. Lane, my hip hurts. Laurel. I oh just getting old. You know. One ever think that Sylvia Plath wasn't crazy, she was just cold. Sylvia Plath was a poet short story writer.

Most famous words, uh are the colossuss I'm sorry. Her most famous works are The Colossus, another Poems, Ariel, and the Bell Jar. Sylvia Plath was clinically depressed most of her adult life and was um treated multiple times with shock therapy and took her own life in nineteen sixty three. Creative research at James Coffin found a study that among all creative writers, female poets are more likely to suffer from depression than other writers and dubbed it this Sylvia

class effect. Well, um, that is an interesting and it's that. It's quite interesting. Laura and Roy still complaining about the broken window and it's cold, saying Luke will fix the window, Laurela. I left Luca message just now, he'll do it. Rory before after the re enactment of Alive, first of all, so bad but yet so not bad. And I also love that movie. I did read the book too, but I loved that movie. Such a story, A true story,

A true story, A true story. Alive is a American biographical survival drama based on Piers paul Reads book Alive, Story of the Andy Survivors, which details a Uruguayan rugby teams crash aboard Uruguayan Air Force flight five seven one into the Andes Mountains on October two. Laurela is referring

to being cold. Uh, she's it's like her house is in the Andes Mountain like the book in the film Alive, where those uh rugby players had to resort to what is known as cannibalism to survive, and it was I think also how I discovered Ethan Hawk, and I think Josh Lucas like the cast legit just saying that movie was gnarly but it was so good. Well, did any of those stars get the cannibalized? Uh? Yeah, I don't know. Yeah they Yeah, because the rugby team the plane crashes.

It's such a gnarly scene, like how they filmed it up, no idea. And then they some survive, some don't, and they're lost in the Andes for like a really long time with no thing. But yeah, they get a fire and they have to eat each other. And I think, yes, celebrities got eaten. Did Ethan get eaten? No? I think he. I think he's the hero. I think he's the one who gets them out. He eventually yeah, okay, and I think they just don't speak of it. I don't like I guess the Survivors or the or the or the

Eatons families didn't invite Ethan Hawk over for dinner. I highly recommend the book and the movie if you haven't seen it. The book. I'm not like much of a reader, but the book is excellent. Mm hmmm, alright, So Emily is upset Laurel I brought Rory should benefit because Emily wanted Laureli to bring a man. Laurelied, Uh so on a wigged out level of when the ten Mom is

at Rory. Francis Farmer. Francis Farmer was an actress. She appeared over a dozen feature films over the course of her career, though she garnered notoriety for sensationalized accounts of her life. I had never heard of her. Funny. Nobody does that. That's really weird, especially her involuntary commitment to psychiatric hospitals and subsequent mental health struggles. She spent nine months in a sanitary Another reference in this episode to

another quote end quote crazy woman. All right, uh speech at the benefits, speaker makes a joke. Nobody gets it. That was funny too, because I was like, uh huh, speaker, the importance cannot be overstanded. Languages, humanities lifeline. That's why I thank each and every one of you. That's why I thank each and every one of you for your loyal support of the e from word is Rare manuscript acquisition foundation, because without it, we would just be stuck

rooting around Gamati. Yeah, that was where the thing the title, that's right. So Nagamati is an Egyptian town and the home of the Nagamati Library, which contains a collection of early Christian and Gnostic text discovered in nineteen and nod Codices h Our thirteen leather bound volumes dated to mid fourth century that contained an unprecedented collection of more than fifty texts, including some that have been composed as early as the second century. Wow, and that is seems to

be it for our very brief pop culture episode. Though just packed with stuff, wasn't it was? It's good good references in the episode, really great, really great. It's quality, not quantity. Scott and I don't know. After that, I'm famished, and I think I'm gonna go eat something now. I think I'm gonna go eat someone, but I want to feel alive. Um so that's gonna do it for this pop culture episode. Thank you Danielle, Thank you Amy for

joining me. Tara, Tara feel better. We're sending you all our love and bounce back and be on the next one.
