Pandora Morrisshows.acast.com

Welcome to the Hurt to Healing podcast with me, Pandora Morris. I’ve been fighting an uphill battle with my mental health for years and it’s only now that I’ve started to see some glimmers of light. It’s almost unbelievable to think I am starting this podcast considering my incessant compulsions would normally try to talk me out of it. But here I am, continuing to fight my invisible bullies one day at a time.

As part of my own recovery, I’ve made it my mission to support as many of you as possible on your own healing journey. I’ll be speaking to wonderful people from all walks of life who will open up about their own invisible struggles in the hope that it will provide a bit of solace and comfort for some of you. I’ll also be speaking to leading experts and doctors about different disorders and therapies that might help each of you expand your knowledge on the world of mental health.

HEALING 101: What Antidepressants Really Do with Dr Joanna Moncrieff (Part 1)

For decades, we’ve been told that depression is caused by a “chemical imbalance” in the brain - something wrong with our serotonin that only a pill can fix. In this Healing 101 episode - part one of a two-part conversation - I’m joined by psychiatrist and researcher Joanna Moncrieff, whose groundbreaking work has challenged one of the biggest myths in modern mental health. Together, we explore where the chemical imbalance theory came f...

This episode might be one of the most confronting and important conversations I’ve ever had. Erica doesn’t sugarcoat things. She talks openly about how modern parenting culture – especially the pressure on mothers to “do it all” – is clashing with what bab...

Dr. Dick Schwartz on How Internal Family Systems Transforms Healing

In today’s episode, I sit down with the actual founder of Internal Family Systems, Dr. Dick Schwartz. IFS isn’t just another therapeutic tool or model – it’s a whole new lens through which to see ourselves. One that says we’re not broken, or bad, or beyond help – but actually, beautifully complex. That all these parts of us – the inner critic, the perfectionist, the compulsive exerciser, the overachiever, even the saboteur – are just trying, in their own often misguided ways, to protect us.
