The iconic Salvation Army red kettle campaign began in 1891 by Captain Joseph McFee, a Salvation Army officer who was looking for a way to cover the cost of the community Christmas meal. Today, the Salvation Army is one of the largest social service providers in the United States. With us this morning to talk more about The Salvation Army and their grand opening of their Thrift Store in Lake Zurich is Rick Garcia, the Administrator for the Waukegan Adult Rehabilitation Center and Envoy at the Salvation Army.
