The South Suburban Emergency Response Team is a multi-jurisdictional emergency response team currently comprising thirty-four police departments in the south suburbs of Chicago. The team is responsible for the protection of approximately 600,000 residents in the Chicagoland area. With us this morning to talk more about SSERT and the work they are doing to keep communities safe is Ian Covey, the Team Leader.
