Hi everyone and welcome back to how the Wise One Grows . Today I have a gift for you , and it is the best gift that you can give yourself between now and till Christmas . So find a space that feels safe and supportive for you and let's get started . So it is the most full time of the year right now .
In episode 81 , I shared all about the holidays and ways that you can take care of your mental well-being during this time , ways you can set boundaries and resource yourself before , during and after the holidays . And today I have a very special meditation for you .
We're going to have a five-minute meditation today that I want you to do every single day from now until Christmas . So that's 26 days , and this is the very best thing you can do between now and Christmas , the best gift you can give yourself . So I want this to be a part of your daily ritual .
My recommendation is to practice this when you first wake up in the morning , maybe it's you get out of bed , you grab a cup of coffee and some tea , and then get back under the covers or sit on the couch with a cozy blanket and give yourself this five-minute gift .
This is how we're going to just make sure we are holding space for ourselves as we move through the holiday season during this very full time of year . So in the show notes there is the time stamp for the exact beginning of this episode . So download this episode so you don't even have to think about it .
You can just start at that time stamp and start your morning with five minutes of the best gift that you can receive this holiday season . So take a moment to find a space that feels safe and supportive for you and take a deep breath in and a deep breath out . Now just gently rest your eyes or soften your gaze at a point in front of you .
Just start to notice your breath as it moves in and as it flows out of the body , and then slowly begin to deepen your breath . Practice inhaling for four counts and exhale for four counts , starting to practice a Samvri tea in equal part breath , bringing a sense of balance to the body and mind .
Notice if the mind has wandered or if you've lost track of the breath . Just gently bring a hand to your heart or offer yourself some gesture of compassion and begin again .
Inhale for four counts and exhale for four counts , not pushing away anything that arises here , just get curious about what's alive for you right now and make space for all of it , breathe with it and meet it all with compassion .
Inhale for four counts and exhale for four counts . Inhale for four counts and exhale for four counts .
Inhale for four counts . Now release any control over the breath , return to where your body makes contact with the earth , notice how you feel and slowly open your eyes as you return to this space . Remember you can take this five minute pause anytime you need throughout your day , and let's keep practicing from now until the holiday , until the next time .
Let's keep taking it one breath at a time .
